"Why are you all looking at me with such long faces?" I question slyly. Everyone looked at me with hate. He motions with his hand, soon more guards come piling in. Their guns were filled with wooden stacks, coated with sorrel and perilla. I roll my eyes. "How dumb have you become, dear? Don't you know a tribrid like me can't be killed?" I laugh shortly.

"What is it you want, Octavia?" He questions, glaring at me, holding his glass of champagne tightly.

I smile, "Sweetie, you know exactly why I'm here. I've come for what's mine, hand it over so I don't have to kick your ass in front of all these people."

The crowds start laughing, along with him. His deep laugh echoed through the room. "What makes you think you can beat me? What can a little thing like you do?"

I take a tray from the nearest waiter and grab the last glass of champagne, downing it. Sighing, I wipe my mouth, dropping the glass, allowing it to shatter on the ground. I hold the tray tightly, I throw it like a frisbee, slicing the head of a guard clean off. The tray sticks in the wall, while the head slowly falls off the tray. "Now?" I ask sweetly, feeling my eyes glow. "That good enough for you?"

He seen her from afar a few weeks back. Just for a second. We were in such a hurry in our Village that he never got the chance to talk to her. He never got the chance to know her. I however, was cursed with a mate that betrayed me before I even knew who she was. I never got the chance to know her either. Once I heard her talking about ending our family. The thought of a mate I had went out into the forest. My mother. My fathers. My brothers. My sisters. Harlee! Who could do harm to her? She's just sweet and innocent. She's my baby sister. I didn't care for her explanations. I cared and loved my family more. To Odin and I she was a trespasser. She was the enemy. So, I killed her before she could do harm to our people. To my family. To my friends. It was her or all of them. I picked them. I would rather have her blood on my hands than have the entire pack. The entire clan. My entire family's blood on my hands. So I killed her without a second glance. I killed her with no emotions. After that night. I changed and it wasn't for the best. I changed and became colder. If I get a second mate, if she blesses me, I will reject her. When "Mate" escaped my lips I nearly died. Fuck. Why did she have to show up now? Why couldn't I have been blessed being mateless. She perched there waiting. Waiting for the opportunity to settle the score between her and her previous owner as she was his property but in order to be even she had to make sure that she ripped him from limb to limb. Out of her peripheral vision she realized that a bird was perching with her as if comforting her. But she did not need comfort she needed to be vindicated. Camea screeched at the bird. The feathers blew off of it as it tumbled 50 stories below. But the thing was dead before it began its descent. A tear of blood trailed down Camea’s face. In the months following Mila’s death Camea came to realize that bondage was in the mind as well as in the flesh. As she wiped her mouth of the blood from her last meal she smiled thinking to herself how much she is going to enjoy dealing with Austen. The monster within Camea allowed three drops of gold to fall the distance to the ground. She was less than human but more than a clone. I always wondered what it would be like to be human. To have a family, to live out of love, and to be loved. But that opportunity passed me. Pining away for something that you can never touch, have, or hold. It is like needing air but being in a room filled with carbon. It is the worse feeling in the world. That is the only thing that I was able to retain from my previous self was my feelings. I can feel everything now. I can feel the world and every emotion in it. Something that is a blessing and curse at the same time. “Forever young, do you really want to live forever?” “I’ll be here forever.”

"May I ask?" I supported my head with one hand, sending a captivated look to his deep dark eyes. "Is it true you only need six questions to win a girl over?" Corners of his lips slightly twitched before answering. "I think that's quite underestimating me, Marianne. I can win anyone over. And as quickly as I damn please." I chuckled. Everything would have seemed funny to me then. Even though he pretty likely wasn't so much joking. He was young, handsome, charismatic, smart and a diplomat on top of that. All together it was making him freaking good at fooling people and getting exactly what he wanted from them. And they would look forward to getting screwed by him... "Don't laugh." I bit my lip and shook my head, taking a new drink from the counter and gazing at him through the glass bottom. It was dangerous. Once I wasn't paying for the booze, I drank well over the limit. And started to behave weirder than ever, it's emberrassing to just think about it. Yet he didn't quite mind, and kept providing me with new drinks, having surely a great fun. (...) That's just so you know, officer, I'm not completely responsible for what happened that night or later on. Although I feel deep regret for all the following events. *** One says 'vampires'. The other one sneers 'for children'. Well, what if they were just... humans? With benefits. A kink, if you will. What then? #1 diplomat [16/1/2022 - 22/2/2022 - 10/8/2022] #1 topsecret [21/1/2022 - 10/8/2022] --- A sort-of-vampire, sort-of-mafia, sort-of-dark-romance, sort-of-crime story... I blended all those genres I love to create something new, perhaps a little more realistic, perhaps a little more fictional. I don't know, I'm curious what you'll say to it. - Mature content and language alert, but nothing too explicit, I believe... Hope you'll enjoy. Please vote and comment⭐️

--Completed-- "Why are you following me?" "I am free to roam anywhere within Barracks, am I not?" "Aldaire will be displeased if he sees us together." He grins, leaning in close to whisper in my ear. "Will he? Last time I checked, you two are merely playing a part." I place a finger on his lips, acutely aware of our proximity yet taken aback by it all. "Don't utter such things. They can hear you." "So it is true. I wasn't present that day, but Himley made sure to fill me in." There's no need to persist with the charade, but if I concede too readily, I'm not fulfilling my role adequately. This is going to be challenging, especially given his annoying demeanor. "I don't know what you're talking about. Aldaire is a noble man." "Then how do his lips taste?" Hiccup! "That is none of your concern, sir." "Why do you take offense? It was an innocent question." "It was not! I am inebriated. Why are you pursuing me? And be honest this time. If you intend to kill me like the rest, I'll make things easier for you." His silence prompts me to look up. His lips are drawn into a thin line as he glares at me. "Do you hold me in such low regard?" "I don't know you," I retort. "That is why I am here. We can acquaint ourselves with each other." His laughter reverberates in the empty space, prompting a grin from me. It makes me blush at the thought. Perhaps it's the alcohol causing me to hallucinate, but the idea of someone vying for my affections is amusing. "I relish challenges, Lady Leizabeth. Give me some time, and you'll see." "I don't understand why." "Because you are a fascinating woman. The moment I laid eyes on you, I knew I had to get to know you." **In the journey of life, we stumble upon love twice. The first shatters your heart into countless fragments; the second conjures up the power of the universe to piece it back together. **

There are worse things than death. ___ "What is wrong with you?" I seethed. She had my back against the wall, pinning me down so I couldn't move. She was much stronger than me, even when I used my strength to get out of her embrace. I held her gaze and I knew that she was gone. There wasn't an ounce of goodness left in her body. She laughed at my question. Of course, I knew what was wrong with her. But I have to find a way to get her back. "What is wrong with me? Ha, nothing sweetheart." she told me with a smile on her face. "I'm just having a little fun." "Yeah, and fun for you is killing innocents," I growled. "Oh, I hate to say this to you but they aren't all innocent." I finally broke free of her and I dropped her to the floor. I held her down with both arms while I was on top of her. All she did was give me a smile. An eerie smile that made a shiver run down my spine. "I should kill you for what you've done," I whispered. "I should make you pay." "Oh, but Sebastian, you won't," she said. "You know why? Because at the end of the day I'm still me, and you will never hurt me, will you?" I hated that she was right. I couldn't kill her. My mind told me that it would be the best to do it but my heart told me otherwise. I mentally cursed at myself for letting this happen to her. "Elora, I know you're still in there." I said. She was still on the ground, but she was not resisting which seemed odd. "She died a long time ago," she said finally. "Alongside her love for you." ___ Book Two in the "From Death to Life" Trilogy #13 in Bloodlust
