It was a bright, summer day.

Mr. and Mrs. Evans were both in the hospital, ready to give birth. But they were really scared. It's their first child so Mrs. Evans was really afraid of how it might go.

"It's okay, honey. It'll be okay." Mr. Evans tried to reassure his wife, stroking her head soothingly.

"But what if the baby comes upside down? What if there's something wrong with her? What if it hurts?" She asked questions so quickly that Mr. Evans doesn't even have time to answer any of them.

"The baby will be fine. Don't worry. It won't hurt as well. It'll be over before you even know it."

But no matter what he said, she was shaking with fear and panic.

The doctor came towards them. "Do we have a name for her?" She asks as they wait for a contraction.

Mr. Evans looked between the doctor and his wife before answering, "Actually, we haven't-"

"Hope"

Mrs. Evans looked up at him, smiling.

"Hope Evans."

~~*~~

Hope Evans lost more in her life at such a young age. She lost every dream she has ever had, lost everything she held dearly and she lost everyone she ever loved.

She had to begin all over again. Only to be fallen right back down.

Will she be happy again?

Will she be able to dream again?

But most importantly, will she be able to love again?

Despite everything she faced, she hopes to gain everything she once loved.

Some say that hope is just a delusion.

Is it?

CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. TW: THIS STORY INCLUDES SE*UAL A*SULT "You have a daughter?" Jack asked me as he watched Elena come running into the living room. Her school backpack was hanging on her elbows, and it hit her butt as she ran. Jack looked from me to Elena as she ran over to me, wrapping her little arms around my leg. Elena's cute brown curls bounced as she moved, and her big brown eyes shone as they looked from me to Jack. "Mama, who's he?" She asked me, her tinkly little voice ringing in my ears. "He's a friend of Mama's; why don't you go into the kitchen and wait for me, baby?" I asked her as I stroked her hair, and she looked suspiciously at Jack before nodding. She walked away slowly, eyeing Jack as she did. "You have a daughter?" He asked me again, and I looked into his eyes, trying to gauge his feelings on this matter. "Is it so bad if I do?" I asked, standing with my hands on my hips. "No, I hope to get to know her when you're ready." He said, and I blinked, a little astonished that he would be so cool with me having a child. Most dominant male wolves are against the idea of their mates ever having been with another. Hope Mayson was only 18 when her whole world shifted, and her best friend died. She died and left everything to Hope, including her baby daughter, Elena. To keep Elena safe from her father, Hope took her newly adopted daughter and ran. For 5 years, Hope kept Elena safe until Hope's mate, Jack, came into their lives, and soon the past catches up with the present.

-- PROLOGUE "Let me get this straight. We have nothing in between us, except for the deal we made that day" he spoke in a monotonous tone. "I am the one carrying your name behind me; we are married. how can you say we have nothing in between us? Huh" She yelled at him, tears blurred her vision, and she spoke her heart to him. "For god's sake, this marriage was to save you! Can't you get that? I did not do it willingly, I do not love you!!" He yelled back at her, shattering her heart into pieces. "Why can't you just love me?" She spoke, as she cried the tears of hurt, and pain. Her heart thumped loudly due to the shivering sensation She felt all over her body. "I never made a commitment to you, or gave you any false hope, neither did i say that i love you. Did i?" He asked her, in a very cold tone. She looked at him through her teary eyes. It's getting difficult for her to even breathe. "It was your eyes, the damn eyes. Who gave me the false hope. They say, "Eyes speak the truth," but what about mine? Couldn't you feel the sincerity within them, expressing my deep affection for you? Why didn't you see the love shining in them? Was it too complex to understand? Couldn't you notice the warmth as they gazed at you? They search for you in every corner, If only you realized how they silently echoed the emotions I couldn't articulate. They say, "Eyes never deceive." But what about yours? They played a trick on me when they met mine, painting a facade of a world that wasn't real. They made me feel loved, Leading me into a belief that crumbled, louder than your spoken promises. Why did they betray me? Was it your eyes or you that masked the truth?" He stayed still, not moving or saying anything at her statement. --

His warm hand stays at my back and I can feel his body keep me close. I nod and listen to his heart again. Worry suddenly starts to ruin this beautiful moment and I whisper, "What will happen if there's something wrong? What if your faith isn't strong enough?" Tyler's eyes soften at this and his thumb tenderly rubs my cheek. "I'm not afraid of what's to come. I have you." "I'm not as strong as you are." "That's what you think. You are much stronger. I can see it in you, city girl." I smile at this but my heart isn't convinced. He doesn't know what I've been through. He doesn't know how weak I can be. How much of a coward I am. But I promise myself that this time I'm not that woman. I'm his. I can't just run away from my problems like I've done all my life. He needs me no matter what happens. So I'll stay against his chest; listening to his heart until it no longer makes its beautiful melody.
