Never would she have imagined herself working for SHIELD. She does that every day now.

Never did she imagine she could live life as a free mutant, be respected. Done deal.

Jessie Nightshade definitely didn't expect to have a ticket on the Avengers roster. Or on the BUS. Look where she is. And she's still losing people.

Nothing would surprise her now, right? That was what she thought.

And then a man in a leather jacket calling himself the Doctor saved her life with the word "run." From plastic mannequins. Just when she thought she'd seen it all.

But she hasn't. The Doctor promises her that, and she takes him up on it. But she's still hurting from past wounds. So's he.

Who knows? Maybe they can help each other in the long run.

As long as time traveling with a mad man in a blue box doesn't kill her first.

First in The Bad Wolf Chronicles.
