Scarlett
*ACHOO*
Phoenix sneezed loudly as his chest shook my head, waking me up. I blinked my eyes open. "Bless you."
He softly chuckled. "Sorry baby, I tried to hold it in as long as I could."
"It's okay," A small smile formed on my lips until my brows knitted. "Wait, how long have you been up needing to sneeze?"
"Um, maybe like a half hour or so."
I sat up on my elbow. "And you didn't just shove me off?"
"Well, no. You looked so peaceful laying on me," His fingers softly stroked my cheek before he rested his hand on my neck.
"You held in your sneeze for me, letting me crush you with my body? What a man," I nuzzled my cheek against his arm.
Nix flashed me a sexy grin. "Stop, you weren't crushing me at all. But you did leave a little drool spot on my chest."
I raised my head, looking at him with my mouth opened. "What? I so did not."
"You did, but it was cute, so I let it slide," He laughed loudly.
"Nixie, nothing about drooling is cute."
"Except when my sweet girlfriend does it when she sleeps on me."
I rolled my eyes at him with a slight smile on my lips. He suddenly pins me down to the bed with my arms above my head as I lay beneath him. "What am I going to do about all this sass, Shortcake?"
"I don't know...what are you going to do?" My eyes stare back at his, daring him to do something. Anything to relieve my body that was on fire inside, demanding his touch.
He gave me a little smirk before his lips were on mine. He slowly released my hands, placing them behind his neck as my tongue slid through his lips. "Mm," A deep moan came from him, vibrating against my mouth.
My heart started to race as he lifted my shirt, exposing my breasts. Nix slowly licked down my neck and around each of my hardened nipples. I could feel his cock start to grow hard against my leg through his boxers, sending butterflies down to my core. "Oh baby," I slid my hand through his hair, grasping it tightly as my room filled with the sounds of heavy breathing and ruffled sheets.
*Knock, Knock, Knock*
Someone pounded on my bedroom door while I quickly reached down for my bedspread and pulled it over the top of Phoenix until I had it up to my neck. "Come on, Nix, get your lazy ass up and let's go! Just because you're with my sister now doesn't mean you get to slack off," Ryder yelled.
I raised a curious brow and pulled the blanket back just enough for Phoenix's head to pop out. "Where exactly does he want to go with you?"
"Running," He gave me a guilty smile.
"Sorry Ry, you can't have him today," I shouted back at my brother.
"Um, yes I can. We had this planned!" Ryder spoke in irritation.
I pouted as Nix started to laugh quietly. "Are we going to have custody issues now?" He quipped.
"Yes!" Ryder and I both said at the same time.
Scarlett, don't make me come in there!" Ryder groaned.
Phoenix and I looked down at the position we were in before he spoke up. "Yeah, if you want a repeat of the awkward situation we had last night, then maybe you shouldn't."
"Agh, nasty. Fine...I will be waiting downstairs, and we ARE going on a run!"
"I'll be down in a minute," Nix assured him.
I chimed back in. "No, he won't!" Phoenix arched a brow, placing a soft kiss on my lips before give me little pecks all over my face. I giggled loudly.
"As much as I want that, it will have to wait. I need to keep training and stay in shape for the new season," He explained. Just then, I felt a small stabbing in my heart when he talked about the new season, which meant a new year of college. College on the other side of the country...away from me. It hadn't really hit me that we would be doing long distance until now. "Hey, are you okay, Scar?"
"Hm? Yes, I'm okay. You go on your run."
"Yeah?"
I sweetly smiled. "Yeah."
He leaned over, kissing me hard before hopping out of bed to throw on his clothes. "I'm going to head over to my house to change, but I'll be back here after the run."
"Okay, just know that I will have no choice but to finish what you started," I pulled back my bedspread little by little and slid my hand down my body, stopping just at the top of my bare thighs.
His eyes were watching me intensely, looking like he was ready to risk the wrath of Ryder for a split second before shaking it off. "You are not playing fair."
"Get used to it babe," A soft laugh escaped my lips.
Phoenix came over by the bed as he leaned down for another quick kiss, hovering by my ear for a second. "Make sure you think of me."
"Only you," I spoke in a flirty tone.
A big grin formed on his face as he smacked my ass. "Good girl."
"Hey!" I tried to act mad towards him, but we both knew I liked it.
He walked over to the door, laughing before turning to look at me over his shoulder. "Bye, Shortcake."
"Bye, Nixie."
As soon as he left, I sprawled out on the bed with the biggest smile. I know he leaves in a little less than two months, but that's not something to worry about right this second, I guess. We still have time. This summer I want to live in the moment with Phoenix. I want to savor the time we do have and try not to worry about the future too much. He has been my past and present all this time, so I have no doubts that he will be my future as well.
"Good Afternoon," Lily came barging into my room, jumping beside me on the bed.
I glanced over at the time and realized she was right. It was already the afternoon. We slept through the whole morning, but I guess we needed that sleep after the wild night we had. "Hey, Lil."
"You know you're one sneaky little thing," She laid on her side and held her head up with the palm of her hand.
My brows lifted. "Says the other sneaky one."
"True," We both laughed. "But you and Nix? Holy shit, Scar. How does it feel living your dream?"
"Fucking amazing," I flashed her a big cheesy smile.
"Oh my god! Mia is going to flip when she hears."
"I know. Does she know anything about you and Ry?"
She shook her head. "Nope."
"Lil, isn't not keeping secrets from each other a twin thing?"
"Maybe...I will tell her soon, and for right now, I don't want to tell any of our parents. Not until we figure out if this is actually anything other than incredibly hot sex," She explained in more detail than I would have liked.
I grimaced. "Ew, god, please...my ears."
Lily chuckled loudly. "Sorry, you are the only one I can vent to right now. By the time Ryder and I figure shit out..."
"I will be scarred for life, and my ears will have fallen off," I chimed in as she smiled and shook her head. "In all seriousness, though, I'm always here for you no matter what."
"Thanks, babes," She said gratefully. "Oh, speaking of hot sex! Did you and Nix...?" Her brows wiggled at me.
I gasped. "Lily, stop!"
"So, that's a yes," She smirked as I hid my face in one of my pillows. "Ohh, hot damn! How was it?"
My face slightly peeked out with flushed cheeks. "Out of this world."
Her eyes grew wide. "Shut up!" I laughed into my pillow until she became silent. I looked up to see her face look back at me strangely. "Wait, am I lying in your sex bed right now?"
I looked down at the mess of my bed. "Well, I haven't changed the sheets yet, so...yeah."
"Yuck," she cringed before hopping off speedily.
"Sorry," I tried to hold back a laugh.
Lily arched a brow. "No, you aren't."
"No, I'm not."
Her hand gently swatted my shoulder as we giggled and talked for a few more minutes.
"Hey, so I'm going to head home and have a much needed shower. Remember, our parentals will be home tonight," Lily said.
"I know, my mom has reminded me at least a dozen times of when they will be back."
"Maybe she's just looking out for us in case we had a party."
I softly chuckled. "I wouldn't put it past her, honestly. Mama Wolf is always looking out."
The corners of her lips curved up. "Yes, she is."
"I'll probably be over in a bit. Can you tell Luke to make me one of his chicken quesadillas pretty please? I'm starving, but I don't want to cook," I asked, puffing out my bottom lip.
Her brows raised at the mention of food. "Ohh, I'm going to have him make me one too."
"Sweet, I'll see you soon babes."
"Bye," She gave me a wave before making her way out of my room.
Eventually, I rolled out of bed and took a quick shower. Once I was done, I dried my hair and threw on some clothes.
When I was ready, I texted Phoenix that I would be over at Luke, Mia, and Lily's house and headed on over there.
The second I walked through their front door, the smell of Luke's chicken quesadilla's hit my nose. I followed the delicious scent to the kitchen where the whole gang besides Nix and Ryder were sitting around.
Jackson turned his head towards me. "Look who the cat dragged in."
"Hey, gorgeous," Mia spoke softly.
"Hey guys," I gave them both a hug before putting my arm around Luke. "Hi, my most favorite person in the world."
He shook his head, smiling before sliding me over a plate with a hot quesadilla on it. "Here you go, suck up."
I happily took the plate. "Yes, thank you, Lukey."
"Hey, where's mine?" Jackson questioned.
"It's coming. Be patient, or I'll make sure it's burnt."
"I see who the favorites are around here," He complained.
I sat beside Jackson at the counter and shoulder bumped him teasingly before Lily sat on my other side.
Mia spoke up. "It's okay, Jack. Next time I cook, I will be sure to make you something first."
He grinned proudly as we all chuckled. "So, how was your night, Scar?" His brow raised while I took a bite into my food.
"Uh, pretty good," I mumbled before Jackson shot me a sly smile.
"Luke made me watch Star Wars with him last night," Mia rolled her eyes.
"And you fell asleep literally ten minutes into it," He added.
Lily shook her head at her siblings. "I'm glad I missed out on that."
"Hey, Star Wars isn't bad," I spoke in a defensive tone.
"Thank you," Luke piped in.
"These nerds have brainwashed you while we were away, haven't they?" Lily asked jokingly.
Jackson shook his head. "No, she just has good ass taste in movies, unlike you twin goons."
"No need for name-calling now, Jacky," Mia stuck out her tongue.
I quietly laughed as they bickered back and forth, knowing there was only more to come later on. Lily was shooting me looks to get me to tell Mia and Luke about Nix and me, but how do I even start that conversation? Oh hey, by the way, I'm going out with Phoenix. Well, I guess that wouldn't be too bad. I should wait for him to be here, though. It needs to be both of us.
We kept chatting and goofing around until Ryder and Nix showed up in the doorway.
"What up, kids?" Ryder walked in first.
"Let me remind you that you're only a year older than Mia and I," Lily said.
He let out a laugh, grabbing an apple from their fruit basket. "Still younger than me, though." She rolled her eyes at him as he took a big bite out of his apple.
Phoenix still stood in the doorway, looking in my direction as I flashed him a sweet smile. Before I could process his next move, he walked over to me, lifted my chin, and placed a soft kiss on my lips...right in front of everyone. Well, that is one way to let the cat out of the bag.
He pulled away, smiling. "Hey."
My cheeks heated up. "Hi there," I slowly turned my head to see Luke with his jaw dropped and Mia covering a big smile with both her hands.
Luke spoke up first. "Um, am I in one of Scar's weird ass dreams right now? Is this real life...am I even real?"
"This is very real," Nix wrapped his arms around me as we both laughed.
Mia jumped up and down. "I knew something was up with you two!"
"That's what I said," Jackson added.
Luke's brows furrowed in even more confusion. "Wait, you both knew?"
"You mean the three of us knew," Ryder said. "Lily and I just found out last night, but Jack knew longer than any of us apparently."
Mia looked over at me. "What? And you didn't care to say something to me, Scarlett?"
"Well, we didn't want to say anything until Ryder knew," I explained.
"And now that he does?" She wondered.
All eyes were on Ryder as he finished up eating his apple. He let out a little sigh, rolling his eyes. "They have my brotherly blessing, and no, I'm not going to kill anyone...unless Phoenix acts like an idiot."
"Oh, then he should be dead soon," A loud laugh escaped Jackson's lips as Nix punches his shoulder, making me chuckle.
Luke shook his head, still in disbelief. "My brain just exploded. So, are you two like...dating then?"
A small smile formed on my face as I looked back at Phoenix, and his eyes found mine. "Considering Scar's my girlfriend, I would think that's a yes," He said.
"Ah," Mia squealed, running over to hug us both. "I'm so happy right now! This is the best news ever."
I softly raised a brow. "You think so?"
"Uh, yes! You two have been meant to be for the longest time."
"I agree with you there," Nix gently placed his hand on my lower back as Mia quietly chuckled.
Luke gave us a happy little grin. "I guess congratulations are in order," He said, hugging me.
Jackson suddenly narrowed his eyes. "So, how the hell did Lily and Ryder find out last night if you were on a date?"
"Ha, funny story," I glanced over in their direction.
Mia tilted her head. "Lily, what aren't you telling me?"
"Um..." Her face was turning red, looking over at Ryder awkwardly.
He spoke up. "The thing is..."
Jackson interrupted him, catching on to the sudden loss for words between the two. "Oh shit, oh shit!"
Ryder and Lily went on to explain themselves and where they stand together as of now. Everyone was just as surprised as we were but also accepting and respected their wishes of not wanting to blurt it out to all our families so soon. They didn't want any pressure right now, which was for the best.
Mia's face softened, smiling between Lily, Ryder, Nix, and I. "No matter what...we all love you guys and will support you. We are always going to be a family to the end of times whether you like it or not, and I will make sure of that."
"To the end of times," I repeated.
Jackson nodded. "Agreed."
"Same," Ryder put his arm around Lily as she leaned into him.
Luke chimed in. "Family for life."
Phoenix sweetly rubbed my back, giving me the good kind of shivers as we all began to talk more about the two elephants that were in the room. There is no hiding from our best friends anymore. They know everything now, and we are still one big ass happy family.
"So, when are you guys planning on telling your parents?" Mia asked Nix and me.
Jackson turned toward us. "Yeah, are you going to keep it a secret from them still?"
"I'm really damn tired of secrets, to be honest," Phoenix admitted.
I nodded. "Me too."
Mia gave us a half-smile. "Please, no more secrets in the group. I don't think I can keep up with everything."
"Right? I'm not good at keeping secrets either," Jackson shook his head.
Everyone said "we know" at the same time. He has never been one to hold secrets in for very long, even since we were kids. It's okay, though, because we love him just the same.
"I thought maybe we could make dinner for everyone tonight. Then if it felt right...we could tell them about Nix and me," I waited to hear their thoughts.
"I'll buy a front row seat to see dad's reaction. Count me in," Ryder spoke in a joking manner, making me feel a little worried.
"Shut up. He will be fine...right?" I slightly knitted my brows.
Nix gave me a reassuring smile. "Yes, baby, it will all be fine."
Jackson shook his head, looking between us. "This whole switch from friends to lovers thing is so weird to witness right now."
"Yeah, seriously. I'm still in shock from that kiss," Luke chuckled.
"So sweet, though," Mia smiled.
"I'm up for making dinner tonight. Who else is in?" Lily wondered. We all agreed that we wanted to do it.
"Let's have it at our house," Nix suggested.
Ryder nodded. "Sounds good to me, but I'll just be the taste tester."
"No, you will be helping with something, mister. You're not getting out of work," Lily stared him down.
"Fine," He caved in from her look.
Jackson shook his head, laughing. "What a shame. Already whipped and not even in a relationship."
"Oh yeah?" Ryder's brows raised. He quickly snatched a hand towel from the handle of the oven before chasing Jackson around with it to whip him.
"Ah, someone save me! Scar...Mia...Lily, your guy is going to kill me," He yelled out, trying to find safety from my brother.
Nix chuckled. "You asked for it, little bro."
"Get back here, you dweeb!"
"Ryder," I shook my head with an amused smile.
"We should let everyone know about dinner, so they all show up at Nix and Jack's first," Luke said.
"I'll make sure to text my mom," I pulled out my phone as Phoenix did the same.
Mia arched a brow. "Now, what are we going to make for dinner?"
