Song: Imagine Dragons - burn out.
Imagine; Bucky and Steve are getting divorced and can't agree on who gets custody, because your twin brother wants to live with Steve and you don't want to get separated from him, you want to move to Steve to, making Bucky angry.
This is angsty, sorry in advance..

'I want to see them too!, they're mine as well!, and not three days in a month Steve!'
'It's going to be chaos if they have to switch every other week!' Steve argues back.
'So I'm just supposed to yield now?!, stop resisting and let you take them from me too?!, you already have everything Steve... I just want to be able to see them too!'
'I get that!, I do!, but you have to think about them too!'
The door clicks and both heads turn to their children standing in the doorway.
You smile when you see Bucky. 'Dad!' You happily giggle as you run up to him and wrap your arms around him.
'Hey babydoll..' he kisses your head.
From the start you and Bucky had a connection like no other father and daughter have. He is very protective of you and you kind of love him even more for that. When going against Steve he always has your back, much to Steve's dismay.
You're a typical daddy's girl, you can't do anything wrong in his eyes, you're his everything. Not his favourite because he doesn't pick sides, or so he says.
That's why it hurts him that with the contract that is now on the table, he would be able to only see you three days in a month. A weekend so to speak.
'Hey dad...' Jack, your brother hugs him after you.
'Why don't we ask them what they want?' Steve suddenly speaks up and you frown at him.
'Ask us about what?'
'Well... now that your dad and I.. well are divorced... we were trying to come to an agreement about seeing both of you... but we can't figure it out...' Bucky shoots Steve a nasty glare making Steve roll his eyes.
'So you want to ask us where we want to live?' Jack states.
Steve nods and you look at your other dad. This is the moment you've been fearing. You and Jack already talked about this, what you would do if asked this question, Bucky is not going to like it.
Since you don't want to be separated from Jack, you both agreed that when it would come to this, you would love with Steve. Not because you'd rather do that but because it's more logical.
Jack gives you a knowing look, your giggly look vanishing as your eyes go down to your feet.
'We uh... y/n and I we.. we uh.. we discussed what we would say if this question ever came up...' Jack speaks up.
'And?' Steve asks.
'We want to live with you... it's just better that way-'
'Even you y/n?' Bucky asks and you nod, you slowly look up to meet his eyes.
'Well thats just fucking great then!' The sudden outburst makes you step back.
'Is there anything else that I can't have?!'
'Dad i-'
'You what?!, you know I thought we'd have each other's backs but clearly everyone chooses your dad instead of me.. including you!'
'I don't want-'
'Just stop!, you've said enough!' He raises his voice even more and as much as you hate to admit it, you're getting scared.
'Dad please-'
'IT'S FINE LEAVE ME THEN!' He yells angry and this makes you visibly flinch. You step back and wrap your hands around Steve's arm.
'I think it's time to go...they've made their choice...'
When Bucky sees the fear in your eyes he immediately regrets it. You have the same look in your eyes as the people he killed had before he ended their lives. He may not have ended you physically but he knows he messed up the bond he had with you the second you went to Steve for protection.
'James..' Steve says getting his attention, he has rarely used his birth name like that.
Bucky turns and walks out the door without another word, he slams the door shut and you flinch again while a tear slips down your face.
'Y/n... are you okay?' Steve looks down at you still clutching onto his arm while staring at the now closed door.
'Honey?' Steve asks again as he moves to hug you.
You're in some kind of shock he can't get you out off, no matter how hard he tries, so he just stands there with his arms wrapped securely around you.
'Come on honey.. let's set you down...' Steve gently pulls you with him.

Bucky has tried to reach out to his daughter for weeks now. He feels immense guilt for the way he lashed out at you.
He can't seem to focus when on missions, he can't seem to get any rest at night, he wasn't able after the divorce but now even less.
You don't reply to him and he gives you every right to ignore him. Steve gave him a very hard time too. Even harder then when he did with the divorce.
But what he doesn't know is that you're not ignoring him, you're contemplating if you're going to actually meet up with him.
You stare at his texts for hours at a time, thinking back to the happy moments with your family, but somehow your mind keeps returning to the last time you saw him.
You've been laying awake all night, cooped up in your bed, in a room where you feel the walls are creeping in on you. You decide it's best to go out for some fresh air at.. 6 in the morning.
You get dressed and grab your coat before heading out into the streets of New York, maybe Central Park can calm you enough to get a few decent hours of sleep on this Saturday.
On the other side of New York, Bucky is thinking the same thing after being up all night, nightmares blocking him from getting his much needed sleep. He wants- no needs- to clear his head.
So he goes on his run, through the empty streets of New York, making his way to Central Park, where he usually watched the sunrise with you when you were younger. Maybe picking up this old habit will make him feel better?
As he approaches the entrance (I've never been to New York let alone America so correct me if I'm wrong pls), he can't help but think back to it.
'Daddy..' there you are, standing in your doorway clutching your favourite stuffed animal.
'Yes babydoll..' Bucky is in his running clothes, ready for his morning run.
'I couldn't sleep... again...' you say with tired eyes.
You have trouble getting sleep at night, but usually your body would throw you in a deep sleep at this hour in the morning. But clearly it wasn't ready this morning. Again.
He doesn't want to wake up his husband or your brother, last time was a nightmare given the fact that Steve may seem like a morning person, but it's quite the opposite. Bucky is certainly not in the mood to deal with a grumpy husband and kid today.
Your little feet flip against the hardwood floor as you walk over to Bucky. He picks you up and kisses your head.
'You want to come with me then?' He asks and you give him a slight nod.
After getting you dressed for the cold October morning in New York, he carries you out of the door. He will have to skip the morning run now that he has you with him, but he's do anything for his babydoll.
You hold his hand as you make your way through Central Park, watching the sun slowly rise, casting shadows of the trees all through the park.
You laugh together and slowly but surely, as you walk around the park, you start to feel tired.
Bucky sets you down on a bench and sits down next to you, he enjoys just sitting there and looking at the animals and the trees with his girl curled up against him.
He chuckles softly when he hears a tiny yaw next to him, he can feel your little hands clutching his jacket.
He sits down on a bench and stares out in front of him. He wishes he could have those moments back again. With both of his kids. He knows that it's over between him and Steve, even as friends but he still wants to hold on to both of his children so badly.
You're walking around Central Park now, taking deep breaths and thinking back to the exact same memory. You slept like a rose after you got home from that walk.
You're so lost in thought that you at first don't notice the man sitting on the bench, but when you do you freeze for a second.
Of course he would be here, his morning run. You again are trying to decide wether or not to go to him. The fear is still there but like your dads, fear has never been a constant thing, they fought villains and you're scared to even talk to your own father.
You take a deep breath before making a beeline over to the bench he's sitting on. You sit down on the other end. He tenses up for a second before he finally looks to see who is annoying enough to sit here out off all the empty benches.
You're looking back at him. His daughter. Right there.
'Dad..' you give him a soft smile.
'Y/n... what are you... what are you doing here?' He asks suddenly out of breath.
'I couldn't sleep again... we used to do this and I could always sleep better afterwards.. so I figured I would try...'
'I'm doing the same thing..' he replies before an awkward silence falls between you.
'I... I'm sorry I scared you... it wasn't my intention..'
'I know... and I get it.. that you're angry... I'm angry too.. I never wanted this to happen.. and I want to live with you I really do...but... I wanna stay with Jack.. and it's closer to school..'
'You don't have to explain.. I understand.. it's not easy having to pick and I get that you want to stay with your brother.. I shouldn't have lashed out like that...'
'I want things to be like the old days... as far as that's possible..'
'Me too... but I'm afraid your dad won't allow it anymore... not after my outburst.. I'm sure that if he gets the chance he will fight me on this too...'
'Who says he needs to know?' You smile at him and he chuckles. 'You really are my daughter...'
You scoot closer and you lay your head on his shoulder with a yawn as his arm wraps around your shoulders.
'Forgive me?' He asks.
'Always...' you reply. 'I'm a daddy's girl after all..'
'Good...' he squeezes you a little and you hum.
After that, everything pretty much went back to normal between you and Bucky. In secret you'd meet up in Central Park. Watching the sunrise and talking together.
You would curl up into his side again, laying your head on his shoulder while he holds you close. Just like the good old days. After you're down and the park gets more crowded, you'd hug him.
'I love you dad...'
'I love you too babydoll...'
