Morning light shimmering through leaves greeted me as I opened my eyes. Laying on my back I was looking at a ceiling of a forest. Surrounded by trees the scent of nature was tickling my nose and the feeling of grass was caressing my skin. If there wasn't an exclamation mark blinking in the corner of my eye signaling that I got a notification, I could have sworn I that this is feels to real to be a game world.
'Probably that's why they give the player a notification so they do not confuse this for reality.'
I thought of opening the notification I got, when suddenly the window popped up.
'Oh, yeah... Thoughts are how you navigate through the user interface. Forgot about that.'
Thinking along those lines I started reading through the text.
To summarize what says, it's about the lore of the game. We, the players, are 'lost people'. We have no recollection of ourselves except our names. Instead we have special abilities to grow, 'Talents'. It's as if we payed for this privilege with our memories.
It has also a very vague description of what Eternals are, apparently some mighty god like creatures, who control fate(?), as well as our first Quest, which is to go to town.
After closing the window knowledge of where I have to go to get to the nearest town appeared in my mind.
'Well let's get to it I guess.'
As I got up I almost fell over again as my body was extremely light. Despite thinking how it's going to take a lot of time to get adjusted to this body my primal thought was:
'This is f****** great. I never knew how great it feels to be able to easily move your body the way you want to.'
Trying to get adjusted to my avatar, I tried doing Cartwheels just to fail miserably.
'Ouch... Okay. I did not regulate the pain I could feel so I'd have a better knowledge of the state my body is in, so I don't know, why I wasn't expecting it to hurt.'
Looking at my slightly scrapped knee I thought to myself.
'Mom didn't raise a quitter... At least if it's about video games.'
And so I tried doing a Cartwheel again.
And again.
And again.

As the sun was starting to set one could hear the rhythmic sound of someone hitting wood at the edge of the forest. If one got closer one could see a platinum blond beauty doing a combination of hits and kicks on a tree followed up by her running up the tree and jumping off it with a back flip. If one didn't know better one would think she was a martial expert.
Fully focused for 12 hours without a single break, Lucille pulled of a feat she never would have been able to do, if her brother didn't nurture her into the competitive bundle of video game addict she is today.

"Phew."
As I was wiping of the sweat, which apparently exist in this game too. I realized three things.
I finally got used to this Avatar. There is a Stamina System in this game. I'm god damn hungry.
'When did it get this dark? Didn't they say that there was a 1 to 1 time scale to real-life?'
That's when I realized a fourth thing.
"Holy sh*t, I've been online for 10 hours."
I thought in my head for the menu to open and the moment the window popped up I pressed on the log off button.

When I safely got out of the game I felt restricted, heavy as if my body wouldn't listen to what I say. Panicked I opened my eyes just to find nothing wrong with me.
'No... There is a lot wrong with me.'
As I slowly and with quite a bit of effort sat up straight on my bed I looked into the mirror to find my fat morbidly obese ugly self.
Looking over to my desk I could see a note, probably written by my mother, as well as some food.
I tried to eat, but lost my appetite really quickly, and thoughts of tomorrow came rushing into my head.
'I don't want to go to school, where I'll see those assholes...'
I looked over to my console. It was just laying there on my bed, but to me it looked like it was trying to seduce me.
'Just a little bit longer... Let me live the dream of Lucifer just a little bit longer, before I have to go to the nightmare of tomorrow, called reality.
And with that I put on the FDVR headset and logged back on.
