The three of us were woken up by a loud knocking on the door. We collectively groaned at the loud noise and I got up to answer the door. It took me a second to fumble with the handle but when I finally got it open, I was disappointed with what I saw.
"I'm sorry but I'm not interested in whatever you're selling. Have a good day." I started closing the door but Tony held it open and walked in.
"Hey!" I yelled but he ignored me. He looked around the room, stopping when he saw Peter and Ophelia half asleep on the couch.
"What's going on here?" Peter and Ophelia looked up.
"Oh, hey mr stark, we had a little party last night."
"Hey, bitch." I gave Ophelia a 'what the fuck?' look.
"So, what to what do I owe the absolute pleasure of having you her this fine morning?"
"Well, someone hacked into my sound system last night." I feigned ignorance.
"Oh no. That sucks! Do you know who did it?"
"As a matter of fact I do."
"Oh then you should go find them and give them a stern talking to. Oooh, I know get Steve to do it. I know he's good at being disappointed in people." I tried to push him towards the door but he stopped me.
"Ah ah ah! No! I already found them and they are right in front of me!"
"Whaaaaat? That's crazy man. You must be drunk."
"Don't play dumb. It was you, why?"
"What can I say man, I just really dislike you." I shrugged.
"Why? We've only met once before."
"What can u say man? You have approximately zero redeeming characteristics." I plopped down on the couch next to Ophelia and leaned back.
"Yeah, dude you kinda suck." I couldn't help but smirk at Ophelias comment.
"I'm sorry, who are you?"
"Oh, how rude of me. I'm Ophelia, (Y/N)'s girlfriend." She smiled and held her hand up which Tony ignored.
"Are there any specific reasons why you don't like me?"
Well, you're a little self centered, narcissistic."
"You're a little mean." Peter chimed in.
"Not to mention, a pretty shitty dad."
All of us stared at Ophelia, shocked.
"What? What did I say."
I got up and pushed Tony out the door, I was stronger than him so it wasn't hard.
"Ok, this is where you leave. Great to see you, hope it doesn't happen again!"
I pushed him through the threshold and slammed the door in his face. I leaned up against the door and looked at Ophelia.
"What? Did I say something?"
Tony's POV
"Ok, this is where you leave. Great to see you, hope it doesn't happen again!" She pushed me through the door before I really had time to register what just happened. She slammed the door in my face and I just stood there, unable to move.
After I processed the interaction I just had I went home. I drove in complete silence. I walked into the compound and saw Steve and Bruce playing cards in the common room.
"Hey, Tony. How'd it go?" Bruce asked me.
I ignored them and walked straight to my lab. Once I was there, I started pulling up everything I had on (Y/N). She said her mom was a scientist, her moms name was Audrey (L/N). I looked at pictures of her until I found one that was semi interesting, it was from a party I threw in 2003. Then it all clicked into place.
After a few hours of processing, I left the lab and went to get a drink. I poured myself a glass of bourbon and sat on the edge of my bed.
I was almost finished with my second glass when Wanda walked in.
"Hey, are you ok?"
"I don't know, why don't you look into my mind and find out."
"I already did, that's why I'm here."
I sighed "Did you tell anyone else?"
"No, it is not my information to share."
I looked up at her, my eyes brimming with tears. "I don't know how I feel. Mostly guilty, and sad, but mostly just disappointed in myself."
"Good."
"What?"
"You should be disappointed in yourself. You have had an easy life and she has not. She resents you and I understand her. But right now, she needs someone to talk to and that person is not you."
"Yeah, I know. Are you going to talk to her?"
"No, but someone has to and I think we both know who is best with the touchy feely."
"Yeah, I do."
(Y/N)'s HOUSE ( Steve's POV)
I walked up to the front door and knocked. I waited for a second before someone opened it.
"I thought I told yo- oh! Hey Steve. Sorry I thought you might be Tony."
"Sorry to disappoint."
"No, trust me I'm glad it's you. What do you need?"
"Tony asked me to come talk to you."
Her face darkened.
"Oh. So I guess he told you everything then."
"No, he said that I shouldn't know unless you want me too." She looked shocked. "Is anyone else here?"
"No, I asked them to leave after he came here, I needed some alone time. Come in." She stepped aside and motioned for me to step inside.
"So, I think you need some context otherwise this will be a little confusing. So basically, Tony is my dad."
What?!
"Oh. That's um..."
"Crazy."
"Yeah."
"So basically he came over to talk to me about how I hacked his sound system-sorry about that- and my girlfriend accidentally let it slip that's he's my dad. So I asked him to leave and then I asked them to leave and then I just sat here on the floor and thought about how the one secret I hoped to keep, was no longer a secret."
"Were you mad at her? Your girlfriend."
"For a little bit, but it wasn't her fault. She was hungover and not thinking straight. Does anybody else know?"
"I think Wanda might. But that's it."
She looked relieved "ok, I want to keep it that way. The last thing I want is so see some stupid article about Tony Stark's long lost daughter."
"I think you should talk to him. He feels awful."
"Good. He could have avoided this if he just a: believed my mom when she said that she was pregnant, or b: not have slept with her in the first place." I looked at her, sympathetic. "Don't give me that look, I don't want your sympathy. What I want is to just go back in time and not answer the door when he came over to talk. But," she stood up and walked towards the door "we can't change the past. I appreciate you coming but I'm not going to talk to him, not yet."
I got up and pulled her into a hug, she stiffened for a second before hugging me back. "I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing?"
"I don't know." I pulled out of the hug and looked at her, I could tell she was on the verge of tears. "Everything is gonna be fine, I know you'll figure everything out." I smiled warmly before walking towards the door.
"Hey, Steve?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you for coming here, I really appreciate it."
"Of course, anytime. Wait, before I go, take this." I handed her a small piece of paper with my phone number written on it "if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to call."
"Will do."
