When I mentioned that it had been five months since my therapy, what I forgot to mention was that it was Corona season. It was the mid of April and the chaos was spread all around the world. People have been fighting for the unimaginable things like a toilet paper and social distancing was a thing.

I never knew that I’d live to see this day, really.

Luckily for me, Grace was here with me in this pandemic, but unluckily for me, Joshua could not meet us as he lived at a twenty to twenty five minutes drive and everyone was quarantined. All we could do in this period of quarantine was Skype and facetime, that was our only resort, but someone was against this whole social distancing thing.

And that someone was none other than Caden Matthew.

We had been a little too accustomed to each other and we were finding it really hard to stay away. From being fifteen hours together everyday to not meeting each other for two weeks took a big troll on us, especially him.

Because obviously, young love.

Our relationship had not even started properly and we were already asked to stay away. We were yet to go on dates and amusement parks and he was yet to piggy ride me to the icecream parlour around the corner. We were yet to practice all the mushy stuff that makes us cringe-y in front of others, but cute in each other’s eyes.

But we were stuck staying away from each other.

For God knew how long.

“Rosa, we are out of toilet papers.” Grace walked into my room and started rubbing her forehead in stress.

“So?” She looked up at me as if I had been oblivious to the current pandemic that has been going around in the world.

“It’s not February anymore, Rosa.”

“I am aware.” I replied.

“It’s Corona time.” She sang, as I laughed at her mimicking the Tik Tok sound, gosh people were going crazy over there.

“What about the huge stack we bought during the end of March?” I asked, looking back to the television screen where some animated movie was going on.

“Oh, that.” She started scratching the back of her head nervously, making me wonder where exactly could such a huge stack go.

“What did you do Gracie?” I asked, finally pausing the movie and turning my body towards her, looking skeptically at her.

“I kind of gave it all away to Joshua.” She mumbled sheepishly and my jaw dropped on the floor, not literally.

“I understand that he is our best friend and all, but every single roll? Why? You could have atleast left us some to last us this month.” I crossed my arms over my chest and waited for her to explain.

I was not mad, ofcourse, I was not. Toilet papers was not a huge deal as no matter what demand, I was sure they would always be in stock and if not, there was always water. Also, Joshua was someone who was really close to us and there was no doubt that we would help him whenever he needed us, but I just needed to know why she gave him all the toilet papers when Walmart was definitely closer to his house.

“You know how easily he gets scared,” She replied and I nodded my head at her to continue,

“so, when we were talking over the phone a few days back, he was really worried that he would catch Corona if he stepped out, but he had to because they were out of toilet papers, so I told him not to worry and then called a few people from my place and had them delivered every roll at his house.” I stayed quiet because this was new. I mean, yes, Grace cared about Joshua, but this was next level care.

She had never shown her caring side towards him and if she was now, that only meant one thing— She was starting to realise her feelings towards him and gosh, was I happy!

“I am sorry that I did not inform you beforehand and I promise I will restock it today, just don’t be mad.” Slowly, but steadily, a grin broke down on my face and I stood up, hugging the daylights out of her.

“Aww, I am so happy for you guys.” I gushed happily, as she pushed me away with a very little force, not wanting to hurt me in any way or form.

“I sent him toilet papers and not marriage papers, Rosa.” She deadpanned, but a slight, very slight blush on her cheeks conveyed that what I said was true.

“That day will be soon, don’t you worry.” I beamed.

“What’s to worry about right now is toilet papers, it’s going to be very hectic at this time of the day.”

“Or we can just call a plumber and get a waterpipe installed, you know how they do it in Asia. That would be a hella lot of savings.” She stared, and stared, and stared, before blinking and then staring again.

Okay?

“You are right, it’s more hygienic that way.” She agreed while nodding her head and walked away, probably to call a plumber and I pressed the play button and continued watching the movie.

It had only been half an hour when I heard the bell going off, making me sigh and pause the movie, again. I did not hear the usual yell of Grace letting me know that she was opening the door which probably meant one thing— She was taking a shower, meaning, I had to go and open the door.

“Coming!” I yelled and walked down the stairs, as quickly as I could, but that was still slow as I was not doing much walking nowadays.

As I opened the door, a huge grin appeared on my face. Even though they were wearing a mask, it was easy to recognise them even with their dark eyes and just when I was about to tightly hug the person that was on the other side of the door, I was stopped by them as they took a few steps back, making me frown at their weird behaviour.

“Let me hug you!” I groaned, but he shook his head before showing me his index finger indicating me to wait for a moment.

I watched him skeptically as he removed the white raincot kind of an outfit which I didn’t even realise he was wearing because I was too happy to see him and threw it in the dustbin before doing the same with his hand gloves. Then, he quickly entered the house and shut the door behind him as if someone was chasing him, or something like Corona, removed his mask revealing his beautiful face and then hugged me tightly.

Something for which I had waited too long.

Oh God, I really missed him.

“I missed you so much.” I mumbled against his neck as he pulled me even more closer and kissed my hair.

“I missed you more.” Jesus, it had been two weeks.

“It feels so surreal that you are here.” Slowly, we pulled away, but still remained close. His hands were resting against my waist and my hands were placed on his chest. My heart was beating so quickly right now and I couldn’t imagine myself staying away from him again.

It was tough as it was and I didn’t think I could do it again.

“You look healthy, Sunshine.” He said and kissed the top of my head, letting his lips linger there for few seconds before taking them off.

“God, I really missed you.” I whispered and hugged him again, returning back to his warm embrace. He rubbed one of his hand up and down my back and with the other, he pressed my head even more towards his chest, making me let out a sob at the moment because I didn’t know how long would this last.

“It’s okay, I am here now.” He whispered into my ear and we stayed like that for about a minute or two before pulling away.

“But you will be gone soon.” I said, trying not to cry, but it was tough, God, it was tough.

“I won’t.” I meet his eyes as he rubbed the tears away from my cheeks and kissed my forehead again.

“What do you mean?” I asked, as he grinned widely.

“We will go through this pandemic together.” He beamed and pointed his finger towards the suitcase that he had brought along with him, which completely went unnoticed by my eyes.

“I don’t think I can stay away from you anymore.” He mumbled and kissed my cheeks very close to my lips, making my stomach go crazy with all the feelings.

“You are the best boyfriend ever.”

“I would be the best husband too.”
