It was midnight, and the full moon was in all its glory. Even though im excited to start this task, I can't help but think of Professor Lupin. What an exciting night it is for me, but a terrible night it is for him.
"Ok Electra, here is the mandrake leaf keep this under you tongue for the entire month. If it falls out we have to wait to start over again. And every day you have to say the incantation as well, you are sure about this?"
"Yes I am, what do you think I'll change into? I'm fast maybe it'll be a cheeta or maybe since I love flying I'll turn into a Phoenix"
"I hope you don't turn into a bug, how pointless would that be" she laughed
"Yeah but I could hide forever and never be found"
"Or get squished"
"True"
Hermione handed me the leaf and I put it under my tongue
"Oh Merlin this taste NASTY"
"If it tasted good I bet more people would try to do this, it makes your breath reek too" she said putting her hand over her nose
"Well maybe that'll keep Montague at bay, he'll think I have bad breath and want to keep back" I said laughing
"Or maybe it's a turn on" she said laughing
"Let's hope not" I laughed back
It's been almost a month, a long month. Fred and George commented on my breath daily to which I told them I was enjoying a hard boiled egg in the morning after my runs now. I really don't think Fred believes me, but for now they aren't questioning it. I ran into Montague once since he gave me the earrings, but all he did was wink at me. He didn't bother coming close, which was unfortunate because I could use my breath to keep him at bay and he would stop buying me things.
I've found the hardest time to keep it under my tongue, is during Quidditch practice. We are facing Hufflepuff next week, which thankfully I will be done with this by then.
I got hit by a bludger in my stomach during practice and it alone almost made me loss my leaf.

I met up with Hermione at the court yard, she was with Harry and Ron
"Hermione it's almost time are you ready to make you know what"
"Yes let's go now I don't want to leave it to the last minute"
"Make what?" Harry asked
I gave Hermione a nod, letting her know it was ok to tell them now. I kept it hidden to surprise everyone but If they know it's ok, I mostly want to surprise Fred and George with my transformation
"You're going to be an Animagus?! That's wicked I'm so jealous i would have done it with you if I knew" Ron said
"If it does well, then you can do it next!"
"Goes well? What are the side effects?" Harry questioned
"Uh, half human half animal body or even death but I'm not worried I have Hermione with me she won't let me die" I said as I grabbed her hand
"Ive done my research I'm 100 percent confident in our potion making skills and knowledge of the subject to complete it successfully"
"Well let's go! We were just sitting around after classes anyways, nothing much to do today"
We went to the abandoned girls room, where we made polyjuice in our second year. No one comes here so it's the best place to do secret potions.
"Ok it's done, and it's almost midnight already I'm so glad we started when we did...Electra are you ready? I'll take the leaf now, i have to add it to your potion"
I took the disgusting leaf out of my mouth, and handed it to Hermione
"Ew" she said
"It was worse for me I had it in my mouth all month"
"Now I need a piece of your hair"
I handed her a strand
"Ok it's blood red, which means it's complete but you need to wait to take it till a lightning storm hits us"
"Awh man you should have said that Hermione I wouldn't have hung around for hours watching you brew this" Ron complained
"Ronald we have to do this right, Electra's life is at stake if we don't, here is your potion it's supposed to storm tomorrow night luckily. And you don't have a quidditch practice or game tomorrow so it works perfectly!" Hermione said
"I'm so excited, what do you guys think I'll turn into?"
"You don't chose?" Harry asked
"No it's based off of personality and traits of the drinker"
"Your intimidating so I bet you'll be a lioness, though it would not be practical to turn into. Maybe a fox because you are sneaky" Ron said
"I bet you'll turn into something that flies, like an Owl imagine being able to hangout with Hedwig all day!" Harry said
"Do you guys wanna place bets?" I asked laying
"Yes, I bet a fox" Ron said
"I bet an Owl" Harry said
"I bet you'll be a rabbit" Hermione said
"Ok whoever wins gets one free potion essay from me"
They all agreed, I am the only person Hermione would trust to write her homework for her
It was the following day, I didn't run this morning I just decided to spend time in the common room, it's a Saturday so none of us have class, I sat down in the couch and stared at the fire. Today is the day I find out what my animal form is
By 7am I heard someone open a door and start down the stairs. I curiously looked over my shoulder, no one gets up this early on a Saturday.
It was Fred
"I'm shocked to see you this early" I said curling up into my blanket
"I woke myself early to greet you when you got back from your run, but you aren't in running gear?" He sat next to me and shared my blanket
"I didn't run this morning it's supposed to storm so I took it off"
"Ohhhh, well that's ok I still want to spend time with you Love"
Love...Hearing that name always makes my stomach twist and gives me goosebumps
"Are you cold?" He asked as he pulled the blanket up further
"Yeah, I didn't realize how cold it would be this early usually I'm hot and sweaty from running I guess I never notice it"
Fred put his arm around me and ran his hands up and down my arms to warm me up
"Thanks Freddie, can we cuddle?" I asked looking into his eyes
"Of course, I would never say no to that" he said "gold..."
"Gold?" I asked
"It's nothing" he lied
I shrugged my shoulders and got up so Fred could readjust himself
He laid straight down motioning me to lay on top of him. I laid my head on his chest and listened to his breathing as he ran his hands through my long hair
I couldn't help my eyes from fluttering shut. I was so tired. I always was, cuddling Fred gave me comfort. Maybe if I slept next to him nightly I'd understand what people fully rested do. If I could I would sleep next to him or on him every night, he smelled like cinnamon and gun powder with a hint of vanilla.
"If you're tired you can go to bed, Love. I'll be here when you wake, I'll keep playing with your hair and keep you warm" he said tucking the blanket around us, and with a kiss on my head
And with that I pushed my head into his neck and dozed off.
I dreamt of running in the forest. I could see the Black lake beside me, it almost didn't feel like a dream since this is what I do daily.
The black dog was with me, but I could speak to him
I looked down at myself and I had paws, and a bushy tail I was red in color and definitely fluffy
"You have grown up so much, I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you during your childhood. I would have given anything to of escaped earlier"
"No it's ok, you're here now" I said to the dog
"I'll never be able to repay Molly for what her and Arthur did for me, for you. Was your childhood hard?" It asked
"No it was magical. I had 9 others looking after me growing up, they never let anything bad happen to me Dad"
"I left you in the most capable hands" He said
"I love you Dad"
"I love you too Electra"
I could feel my eyes flutter open, but I didn't want Fred knowing I was up yet. He did what he said he would do, he never left and continued to run his hands through my hair. I looked around the room and saw no one, how long was I asleep for...and that dream...it was incredible.
I bet that was a premonition, and I was in my Animagus form. And that black dog must be my Dad.
"Good morning Love" Fred said, he felt my eyes open fully so he knew I was awake
"Good morning how long was I out for?" I said stretching my arms out
"It's noon now, you must have needed that nap"
"Merlin! Why didn't you wake me up" I said jumping up
I'm slightly embarrassed to be caught sleeping on Fred, I don't want anyone getting the wrong impression
"I'm only joking it's 9:47 if you want the exact time, no one else has gotten up yet it's just been us" he said as he rubbed my back and pulled me back down
"What are your plans for today?" I asked as I ran my fingers across his arms
"Mostly creating new prank items for our future store with George and Lee, you can join if you want?"
"I actually have something I need to-"
I jumped as lightning struck a tree near our windows
"Jumpy today are you? You moved a lot in your sleep too, like you were a dog running you kept moving your back legs it was really cute" he said looking into my eyes
"I had a dream about my dad" I said quietly resting my head in his chest again
"Oh? A good dream I hope, do you want to talk about it?"
As I was about to open up to him and tell my dream, George dog piled on us
"G-George you're...squishing...meeeee" I said as I tried to squeeze my way out of the Wealsey sandwich I found myself in
"What I can't come cuddle too?" He asked jokingly
"Next time Georgie" I said as I finally pulled out of between them
"Are you going to help us with pranks today little one?" He asked
"Not today, I have plans but I'm free tomorrow after practice"
Fred looked disappointed, I wish I could tell them my plans but I don't want to ruin my fun that I'll be having later because of it
"I'll see you later on guys, have fun with the pranks!"
I ran upstairs to find Hermione, as I opened the door to run in she was already up waiting for me
"Did you hear the lightning strike? It's time Electra where do you want to drink it?"
"Let's go to the girls room again it's more private, should we invite the guys?"
"Probably, but if they're not awake we're leaving them behind ok?"
"Deal!"
We left our dorm and went to the boys dorm. I was too excited to knock so I just whipped the door open, and of course all the boys where half naked getting ready for the day
"Electra! Bloody hell can you KNOCK next time we are getting dressed" Ron yelled
"See anything you like Electra?" Seamus asked winking
"Uh sorry are you and Harry ready for our plans to do that thing? And no sorry Seamus I'm into Quidditch players isn't that the rumor going around"
Seamus scoffed and threw on his jumper
"Huh" Ron said
"Ron remember our bet?" Harry said
"Oh yeah...right now?!" He said
"Yes let's go we aren't waiting forever" Hermione yelled
We made it to the bathroom and I was about to take my potion
"If anything goes wrong, don't leave me ok guys? Like if I'm half eagle half human you'll still all love me right?"
"Might take some getting used to but we will manage" Harry said
"Bottoms up" I drank the potion
