"Honestly Malfoy, just let me do it, you git!"
"No way, (Y/L/N)! I'm not gonna let you ruin all of my hard work! Now move aside!"
"They're fighting again," Pansy sighed, crossing her arms. Ever since Snape paired (Y/N) and Draco up in Potions class, everyone's lives had become a living hell. The two couldn't seem to get along for one moment.
"I have an idea," Blaise smirked devilishly.
"What?" Pansy asked. She was always down for some mischief.
"Professor Snape! Malfoy stole my wand!" (Y/N) called.
"Only 'cuz she tried to hex me!"
"I wouldn't have had to hex you if you kept your hands off my project!"
"Your project?! We're supposed to be working together, you fool!"
"A love potion," Blaise replied as the bickering continued.
"A love potion?" Pansy questioned. "But... isn't that-"
"Ugh! Malfoy! You unimaginable git!"
"On second thought, let's do it," Pansy decided. She was getting a migraine.
Over the next few days, Blaise and Pansy concocted the perfect plan. Taking extra precautions not to get caught, he brewed a simple love potion, while she bought some overpriced Firewhiskey from a seventh year student. They met up in the common room late one night to mix the two.
"Now," Blaise said. "It should last for about three days. Then, they'll turn back to normal and hate each other again."
"This is gonna be hilarious!" Pansy shrieked, clapping a few times out of excitement. She couldn't wait to see what would happen. They lured Draco and (Y/N) to the Common Room with the promise of free alcohol.
"Ugh. What's he doing here?" (Y/N) crossed her arms over her chest when saw Draco sitting on the couch.
"I can enjoy a drink, too, (Y/L/N)," he spat, causing the girl to roll her eyes. Pansy poured their glasses as their bickering took off once again.
"Let's make this quick," (Y/N) said, taking a sip and glaring at Draco. "Don't wish to be around the ferret for any longer than I have to."
"The feeling is mutual," Draco muttered, glaring back as he took his sip. The conversation went on, and nothing really seemed to change.
"Are you sure you mixed it right?" Pansy asked Blaise afterward, when they were alone again.
"I'm sure," he said confidently. "They probably just need to sleep on it. By tomorrow, they'll be all over each other."
The next day, Pansy and Blaise entered Potions class with evil smiles on their faces, which just about scared the living daylights out of the Hufflepuffs they shared class with.
"The moment of truth!" Pansy squealed excitedly. (Y/N) and Draco flew into the classroom...
"Merlin, I know you're absolutely horrid, but I just can't believe you would do such a thing to a small, helpless first year! Have you no compassion?!" (Y/N) yelled.
"Oh, come on, (Y/L/N), it was hilarious! Just because you don't have a funny bone in your body..."
"Oh, shut up, Malfoy. You are unbelievable."
"I'm unbelievable? At least I'm not a boring goody-two shoes."
"I'm confused," Pansy said.
"It's supposed to be working," Blaise replied. "I followed the recipe exactly, but it's as if nothing's changed."
"What are you two staring at?" Draco quipped, realizing Pansy and Blaise's confused expressions.
"It doesn't make any sense!" Pansy shrieked. "You two are supposed to be madly in love!" This was the first time (Y/N) and Draco were actually speechless in each others' presence.
"In love?" (Y/N) blushed. "With Malfoy? How absurd."
"Yeah," Draco chuckled nervously. "(Y/N)... gross..."
Pansy and Blaise shared a glance, finally understanding what was going on. You can't create false love where there is already real love.
Less than five minutes into class, the arguing started up again.
"Let me do it!" (Y/N) exclaimed.
"No, let me!" Draco responded.
"Merlin!" Pansy yelled. "Just kiss already!"
