Third person POV:
Isaac was heading back to his room after having just watched a movie with Blaire, when he spotted a ginger hair outside with someone who looked like Harrison.
Immediately, Isaac discarded his previous route, and instead walked closer to the ginger hair and with every step, getting closer, he could now fully identify the people as being Harrison and Alyssa.
They were so engrossed in whatever conversation they were having, that they didn't notice Isaac coming towards them, but Isaac was fuming. Harrison had been mostly ignoring him since yesterday's match, blaming it on having a headache, but now, he had the nerve to go and talk to Alyssa, who Isaac's hatred for her slowly grew.
Isaac cleared his throat loudly as both of their heads turned in sync to face Isaac. Alyssa's eyes widened a bit, but then went into slits while Harrison kept a guilty expression on his face, looking down at his feet.
"Wow, long time no see, bitchface." Alyssa smirked while Harrison looked up to give her a warning look.
"I sure wish it was longer, ginger." Isaac made sure to enunciate the last word, feeling a sort of thrill on seeing Alyssa's reaction.
Her fists automatically clenched, and she made a move to try and hit him, but Harrison had already foreseen this, and pulled her away from him, trapping her from escaping with his arms whilst she let out a string of curse words.
Isaac smugly smiled, but stopped when he saw how disappointed Harrison appeared.
"Isaac, let's talk and Alyssa, you stay here, I'll be back." Harrison cautiously released Alyssa from his arms, and led Isaac to a hidden corner.
"Why do you have to deliberately wind her up?" Harrison immediately hit Isaac with a question, folding his arms.
Isaac didn't like the way Harrison was looking at him, sure he had continued to wind her up, but it was fair play since she started it. "Me? She was the one who started it."
"Doesn't mean you had to continue it." Harrison carried on defending Alyssa, making Isaac feel uneasy as he realised how mad Harrison really was.
"Are you on my side, or hers?"
"That's the thing Isaac. Not everything's about sides. Just because you're not friends with her, doesn't mean I can't be-"
"That's not what I meant." Isaac cut him off, but Harrison carried on anyways.
"- And it's not like I don't do the same with your friends."
"My friends?"
"I see the way you interact with Zavier, I'm not stupid." Isaac's heart felt like it dropped as soon as Harrison said that.
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"
"You both were at a parlour today, I'm guessing having a nice little date?"
"You're a fucking idiot, I hope you know." Isaac sneered. "If you really cared that much, you would've texted me like a normal person, but have fun with Alyssa."
Isaac shoved past his shoulder, and went to walk away when he heard Harrison's voice again. "Yeah, I bet you'll have fun with Zavier."
Isaac felt like just turning around, and giving him a good punch in the face, but he couldn't.
And he knew he shouldn't.
So he walked away, eyes fixed on the ground, pushing his tongue to the roof of his mouth to prevent any betrayal or angry tears coming out.
"Where have you b- Woah, what happened to you? Did Blaire finally reject you?" Zavier joked, and normally, Isaac would've responded with some 'smart' remark, but he wasn't in the mood, and just went straight to his bed.
"Isaac?" He ignored Zavier. "Isaac?" He ignored him again. "Isaac Hill Jones, don't ignore me."
Isaac turned around, slightly jumping at how close Zavier was. "What do you want?"
"What happened? Was it Blaire?" Isaac shook his head. "Dillon?" He shook it again. "Your mom?" And again.
"I can't keep guessing everyone in your life. Help me out."
"No, it's nothing. Don't worry." He turned back around, so now his back faced Zavier again.
"Turn around Isaac."
"No."
"Okay." Isaac heard Zavier's footsteps retreat backwards, and thought that was the end of it, until the footsteps starting coming towards him, till Zavier was in front of him.
"Ah fuck." Isaac spoke as Zavier kneeled down by his bed in front of him. "What now Zavier? I told you, it's nothing."
"And you think I'm dumb enough to believe that when you literally look like you're trying to hold a shit in."
"You've always been one with words." Isaac sarcastically retorted, rolling his eyes.
"That's me." Zavier grinned, bopping Isaac's nose as a joke, then letting his fingers brush Isaac's soft cheeks, making Isaac freeze.
"You said you wouldn't do things like that anymore." Isaac whispered delicately, as if his voice would break the moment.
"I say a lot of things."
Isaac leaned forwards, so entranced that any thoughts of Harrison flew out of his head, finding Zavier's lips enthralling as they got closer and closer.
Till they were millimetres away, and Isaac's lips skimmed against Zavier's, until Zavier turned his head to the side, making Isaac's lips land on his cheek.
Isaac pulled back ashamedly, feeling the heat rise in his cheeks.
"I shouldn't have done that." Zavier stood back up, running his hands through his hair while Isaac watched him silently. "Shit. You're right. This-" Zavier pointed between the both of them. "-shouldn't be happening. We're both straight, not gay. We don't like each other. This is all a mistake."
Isaac didn't say anything, but he didn't need to. His silence confirmed that he agreed with Zavier, or at least had no explanation for why they were doing this.
"I'm going out." Zavier announced, throwing on a jumper and some shoes, then walking out as Isaac still didn't utter a word.
"Fuck." A few seconds after Zavier had left, Isaac hit the empty side of his bed next to him, feeling extremely frustrated with not only everyone, but more specifically himself.
And right now, all he wanted to do was go home and just let everything out.
***
Isaac didn't see Zavier again till dinner, and by then, he was feeling a bit better. Although he still wasn't on talking terms with Harrison, he had dwelled more on the situation and thought about it for longer, seeing where himself and Harrison went wrong. However, he wasn't going to be the one to apologise.
That'd have to be Harrison.
Isaac would've normally sat next to Harrison, but now he sat between Alex and Ben.
But he was starting to regret sitting next to Ben. He wouldn't stop going on about a girl he had kissed at one of the parties. Isaac just nodded to everything he said, very unbothered with what was going on.
"Are you not going to eat something?"
Okay, that voice was not Ben's.
Isaac looked up to see Harrison opposite him, but he couldn't recall when Harrison had arrived.
Isaac didn't respond to Harrison, looking back down at the food on his plate that he had only taken one bite out of.
He wasn't hungry.
Ben still chattered on excitedly, but it was giving Isaac a headache. "You know what Ben, I think I left something in my room." Ben's smile dropped a bit, but lifted again as he just turned to the person next to him and carried on talking.
Isaac didn't go to his room, instead tried to escape outside without attracting anybody.
"Where are you going?"
That worked.
Isaac didn't need to turn around to know it was Harrison, so he didn't, and carried on walking outside, but Harrison also followed.
Isaac still pretended like there was nobody behind him and sat in the corner, but Harrison tagged along, and sat next to him.
Isaac kept his eyes on the pool, not daring to look at Harrison.
"The pool's really nice, isn't it." Harrison attempted to start a conversation but once again, he was shut down with no response.
"Can you please talk to me Isaac? The silences just create more tension."
"I didn't ask you to follow me." Isaac snapped, completely forgetting about his silence strike.
"Ha! You talked." Isaac could hear the grin on his face, and had to force his own smile away. "I'm sorry."
"Specifics please." Isaac's stern voice rung out.
"What?"
"Well you did a lot of things, so name them."
"Okay... er- I'm sorry for ignoring you, um- I'm sorry for accusing you of having something with Zavier?" Harrison looked at Isaac for confirmation, but Isaac still stared straight ahead at the pool.
"There's more but I'll take that."
"Friends again then?" Harrison had a hopeful look on his face.
"We'll see."
But they both knew that was a yes.
