Hamesha Wala Pyaar – Chapter 86
“Baby these vibration are not good for the baby, samajh na baby” Sidharth admonished as she habitually turned the volume up, moving her shoulders to the thumping beats of a Punjabi song.
“Baby baby baby” she teased making a face
“kaunsi baby ke baare mein baat kar raha hai samajhna mushkil ho jata hai” her giggles filled the car as he turned the volume down
“ab tu issi volume pe gana sunegi samjhi? dimaag mat kharab kar” he muttered angrily, focusing on the road.
He was a stickler and took pride in himself that in the 22 years he had been driving, he had never had a single road accident that took place because of his fault.
And now that his pregnant wife was accompanying him, he was extra careful while wading thru the bumps and potholes on the road.
“Puttu tu waha jake bhi aise hi daat lagani hai meko sabke samne?” her angry pout was the cutest sight to behold.
“Main kabhi aisa karta hu?” he asked, holding her hand with his free one
“Karta hai bohot baar” she smirked
“pichli baar maa ke samne tune daat diya tha” she said in a babylike voice
“toh maa is not sab, maa is maa unke samne sab chalta hai. She doesn’t count” his nonchalance and defending his own actions irritated her.
“Ab na tu bohot paka raha hai hai, chheti kar le, ek toh waise hi Mata ki Chowki miss kardi hai humne, kal wali” she folded her hands across her chest.
“Accha maine miss kara di? Aapko fursat nahi thi kal pura din madam. Kaise bhul gayi aap?” Sidharth teased her and pulled her closer as they waited for d signal to turn green.
Shehnaaz was having the time of her life in “Panah” the orphaned children wing she was managing at Brahmakumaris Centre.
After Sidharth, it was the most closest to her heart.
She loved working with the 14 small kids ranging from 0-10 years that were housed in Panah.
Mostly busy with handling the administrative and funding part, shehnaaz made sure to visit the children everyday.
Her unmissable jovial nature, her infectious smile had charmed the kids from day one.
They too looked forward to her visits and would bypass the caretakers and go to her for voicing their concerns, demands and happiness.
Since a majority of the kids were toddlers, they found it difficult to pronounce her name or call her didi.
One day suddenly one girl called Minu started calling her Maa, surprising her. She had liked it instantly and didn’t mind when the whole bunch of them started calling her Maa.
Her motherly instincts were flared up from that day onwards and she felt emotionally connected with each one of them.
And now that she was on the threshold of motherhood herself, her maternal instincts had doubled over.
So, a day ago, Hasan, a five year old from the shelter was running fever and insisted that his Maa be with him, and Shehnaaz too wouldn’t have it otherwise, which is why they had to postpone their visit to Pune by a day.
Back in the car, Shehnaaz as usual snoozed off allowing him to drive in peace after a little while, until they reached the Tivoli Gardens.
Sidharth pulled up in the car park and turned to his side, watching her peacefully sleeping face with adoration.
At 25, She was already headed to motherhood, but still looked like a teenager.
Infact, despite of their elective decision to expand their family, he had still voiced out his nagging concern of her being too young for motherhood, to his mother.
But she had pacified and explained to him that this is the ultimate joy for any girl and if Shehnaaz was prepared for it, she shouldn’t be denied it.
His knuckles caressed her cheek softly, as he kept on looking at his plum.
Suddenly a car horn blared in the background and she opened her eyes with a start,
“Kya hua?” she was startled to see his hand near her face.
“Kuch nahi, just felt like showering some love on the sleeping Mamma Shukla" Sidharth spoke
In a year, the reference point had shifted from Mrs. Shukla to Mamma Shukla. She blushed profusely at the mention.
“Tu yeh sab bol bolke mujhe tamatar banne pe majboor karta hai hamesha, mat kar, waha sabke samne juloos niklega warna” she whined, clutching at his shirt.
He let out a humming sound with a heavy
sigh
“Ab maine datna nahi hai, pyaar karna nahi hai, to main ek kaam karta hu, chup chaap tere piche piche naukar ki tarah ghumta rehta hu” he folded his hands and placed a finger on his lip to tease her.
Shehnaaz erupted into peels of laughter “Awwww mera puttu, tu sabse best hai pata hai? I love u my guggloo mugloo” her baby voice and his groan on the mention of a new
nick name both were back.

They were just approaching the expansively decorated wedding gate when her whole family including the slow paced dadi forgot all about the guests and came rushing to her.
They were waiting in anticipation for the time they could see their little princess who was about to become a mother.
It was a very happy moment for the family including her chacha chachi who were Gunni’s parents.
“Hayye meri Gudiya, meri laado. Jug jug jiyo bacche, tune dil khush kita
mera. Pardadi banungi main ha?” Dadi hugged a blushing giggling Shehnaaz as Sidharth stood by her side, smiling.
“Sidharth beta, mubarak ho. Jug jug jiyo puttarji” Mr. Gill hugged him as he bent down to touch their feet and then was smothered by dadi too.
Mrs. Gill too smothered Shehnaaz with kisses and then blessed and congratulated Sidharth.
The perfectly happy moments was captured candidly by Shehbaaz who had tears in his eyes as he met with his pregnant sister.
“Meri motto mummy banegi hain?? Dekh le ha kahi mere bhanje ko pare karke uski bottle se tu hi doodh na pine lag jana, bacchi to hai tu khud?” Shehbaaz guffawed at his own joke flustering Shehnaaz who was ready to launch a fist attack on him along with a mumble jumble of Punjabi cuss words but Sidharth was already by her side holding her and calming her down.
“Jaan calm down, don’t say all those words now. Soch baby sab sun raha hai andar” he cajoled her
“Kuch nahi sunta abhi, abhi chhota hai bohot mera puttu” Shehnaaz scoffed
“Oye puttu sirf main hu haa, tu tere pitaare mein se koi alag naam nikal…Puttu pe mera copyright hai” he feigned annoyance making her smile warmly.
“Ok baba, puttu sirf tu hi hai bass, yeh wala toh mera nonu hai” she patted her belly playfully
“Chal woh bhi mera hi hai but maine de diya isko, apna baby bhi kya yaad karega ki kiss raees baap se pala pada hai uska” he smirked and they both burst out laughing and sipping their welcome drinks.
Mohit’s big family, which was now even bigger and louder due to the Gill’s joining forces with them welcomed all the guests with their “PunWadi” warmth flooring them with their unmatched hospitality.
Shehnaaz remembered Garima’s wedding was no less than a grand affair and keeping the legacy on, this time too the Jindals had pulled out all stops going extravagant with the wedding festivities to celebrate their eldest sons wedding.
Together, they went to the rehearsal hall where both Mohit and Gunni were rehearsing for their dance performance in the evening.
“Ohooooo meri jaan..mera puttu mera bebu, tu papa banne wala hai?” Mohit ran to Sidharth and lifted him wrapping his arms around and teasing him with all Shehnaaz’s nicknames for him.
On the other side Shehnaaz hugged Gunni fawning over her bridal beauty like the perfect maid of honor.
They ended their charade with all the four best friends wrapping themselves into a group hug.
Mohit and Gunni personally escorted their favorite couple to the same room they had taken during Garima’s wedding.
“Saale harami, teri shaadi mein itni bhag daud ki maine, aur tu aaya hai ek din late, aur abhi toh tere paas accha bahana hai, main mama jo banne wala hu, ab toh tu Shehnaaz ke piche piche ghumte rahega” Mohit chastised Sidharth
“Ha toh theek hai na suna kyu raha hai” Sidharth retorted
“Mere Ashirwad se hi toh tujhe itni pyaari Dulhan mili hai, nahi toh tere naseeb mein nahi thi itni acchi ladki” he said lovingly patting Gunni’s shoulders.
Despite of their couple status, the teams in their dynamics were a like minded Sidharth and Gunni and the whacky minded Mohit and Shehnaaz.
After bantering to no end, Gunni finally pushed the over excited Mohit out reminding him of the dance rehearsal they had left half way.
Once they were finally alone, Shehnaaz went out looking for Sidharth who was in the balcony smoking.
The memory of their first ever kiss
was still afresh in her mind like it had happened just yesterday.
“Tujhe yaad aa raha hai kuch bebu?” she inhaled the Sidharth infused Versace and smokes smell loudly.
He turned around with a smug smile and looked at her
“How can I ever forget baby?, the first time I ever tasted this sweetness” the pad of his thumb grazed along loulining her lower lip.
He slanted his face and bent down “Love you mamma Shukla” he crooned against her lips as both reiterated that moment kissing each other ever so softly.
