Lorenzo's POV
I can't believe I just told that woman I would wait for her. Never in my 27 years of life have I ever needed to wait for anyone. If I'm being honest, it was a bit of a reality check.
As I walked down the stairs I came across all my brothers along with Angelo.
"Che diavolo Lorenzo!"Ricco said angrily at me. (What the hell Lorenzo!)
"Che cosa." I said back. (What.)
"Perché hai buttato fuori Alexa! Gianna non vuole zittirla." he said back. (Why did you throw Alexa out! Gianna won't shut the fuck up about it.)
Sure, I felt a little bad for throwing out Alexa before Thanks Giving, but I was tired of her bullshit. And I couldn't have her causing trouble with Rissa.
"Com'è questo il mio problema? Ho problemi più grandi da affrontare oltre a Gianna e sua cugina." I spat back at him. (How is that my problem? I have bigger issues to deal with besides Gianna and her cousin.)
"Quali problemi più grandi devi affrontare? Sei sempre in camera tua con Klarissa." Ricco mocked. (What bigger issues do you have to deal with? You're always up in your room with Klarissa.)
All of the boys bursted out into laughter, even Angelo. Ciro of course was bent over because he was laughing so hard.
"Abbastanza." I said sternly. (Enough.) Just thinking about her made my chest tight.
After awhile their laughter subsided and they were quietly standing in front of me. "Solo per questo, è meglio che vi cambiate e andate in palestra." I told them with a smirk on my face. (Just for that, you better get changed and meet me in the gym.)
"Andiamo Lorenzo." Ciro whined. (Come on Lorenzo.)
"Peccato, non ci alleniamo da sempre." I said back sternly. (Too bad, we haven't worked out in forever.) This was perfect, I was finally going to have a way to let out my pent up frustrations caused by Rissa.
However, my version of working out is nothing like how it sounds. We aren't going to benchpress or do cardio, we are going to fight. Fighting, as in trying to beat the absolute shit out of each other. Even though my methods are kinda extreme, they definitely teach us men how to be stronger.
Once all of us got changed and were in the gym I started to pair everyone up. I paired Luca up with Ciro and Ricco up with Angelo. Then whoever wins between Ricco and Angelo, I fight.
Up first was Luca and Ciro. Ciro usually loses not only because of his size, but he gets way to confident. His overconfidence always makes him make dumb mistakes.
This fight is always entertaining to watch because of the outrageous things that come out of Ciro's mouth. In the rare occasion that Ciro actually wins, its usually because Luca lets him. I think he feels bad for him since he usually always loses.
After about 10 minutes of brawling, Luca came out victorious as usual. With bloody knuckles and noses, both Luca and Ciro slump down in the chairs.
"Fuck you! If you hadn't of kicked me in the stomach I would have won." Ciro whined.
"You say that every time." Luca said, make us all laugh.
In a huff of defeat Ciro crossed his arms and turned away from us. He's always been a bit of a sore loser.
"Alright next." I said aloud.
Angelo and Ricco then took their place on the mat. It's always a toss up on who is going to win. Both of them are relatively the same size, but Angelo has a couple more years of experience over Ricco. As they started to fight things were pretty intense, they were both getting pretty good hits on each other. However Angelo came out on top.
With a loud groan Ricco dragged himself off the mat and onto a near by chair.
"$200 on Lorenzo." Ciro said to Luca.
"No way, Angelo going to beat his ass. Look at what he did to Ricco." Luca said with a laugh.
"Chiudi quella cazzo di bocca!" Ricco said as he groaned in pain. (Shut the fuck up!)
I stood up, and walked over to where Angelo was standing.
"Well this is going to be fun." Angelo said confidently.
"Sure it is." I said smoothly. Last time we fought Angelo won. I was having a bad day that day so he kinda beat the shit out of me. Ever since then he keeps bringing it up just to get under my skin.
After a bunch of kicks and punches later, I came out victorious. My hands were bloodied and my jaw hurt from the punch I received earlier.
"Cazzo!" Ricco yelled once he realized he lost his bet.
"Ha! Pay up bitch."I heard Ciro yell.
With a groan Ricco dug into his pocket and pulled out $200 and gave it to Ciro.
"Are we finally done? I'm starving." Ciro asked me loudly.
"Yeah, you guys are dismissed." I said before everyone started to walk out.
Once I finished collecting my T-shirt along with a few other things, I walked out of the gym. Instead of going straight to the shower, I wandered into the kitchen for some water. Fighting really makes me thirsty.
When I entered the kitchen, I saw Gianna and Klarissa sitting on the counters with some type of beverage in hand. Klarissa and I made eye contact for a second, before I watched her eyes shamelessly look over at my bare midsection. Just the sight of her was starting to frustrate me. I just don't understand why she doesn't she want me!
Trying not to give her too much attention, I went over to the fridge and retrieved a water bottle.
"Why the hell did you kick my cousin out?! Tomorrow is Thanks Giving!" Gianna asked with annoyance clear in her voice.
"Because she fucking annoying that's why. Don't question my decisions." I snapped back at her. I opened the bottle and took a sip. The cold water felt nice against my throat.
"You're such as asshole." Gianna countered back at me. She had her hand on her hip and she was showing me her best scowl.
"Yeah whatever." I said as I walked out of the room.
Once I left, I faintly heard her say something about me to Klarissa. Letting out a deep breath, I went upstairs to shower.
Once I had showered and gotten dressed, I headed into my office to do some work. I've had a lot on my plate lately and I've been extremely distracted.
Distracted by Klarissa.
Even though I am disappointed with how things are between us right now, I know its probably for the best. I can't have anything distracting me from my work, especially a woman. Love makes things messy and I need to stay focused.
I walked over to the mini bar my office and poured myself a generous helping of scotch. After taking a long sip, I headed back over to my chair and allowed myself to sink into it.
Before I could become too relaxed, my phone started to ring. I immediately answered it without looking at the caller ID.
"Russo." I said smoothly.
"Ahh, just the man I was looking for." I heard Tristan coax.
"What do you want Tristian?"I said getting slightly irritated. Of course, right when I thought my day couldn't get any shittier this asshole calls.
"I'm sure you know what I want, Lorenzo. Enough with the games, and let's get down to business." he said sternly.
"Last time I checked I wasn't playing any games. You're the one that sent those men into my club." I said lowly. I knew that while talking to him I had to play my cards right. Especially, since I had his daughter to think about.
"I just want my daughter back, and with how you treat women I though that you would have sent her to dance at one of your clubs!" he said angrily.
"Why would I have sent her to work in my clubs? I have more than enough girls to work there." I questioned. I had always wondered why he sent those men to my club and not my estate. But it's not like he knows where the estate is located, right?
I then started to think about what happened in the last couple of days, the break-in at the main estate and how the men targeted Gianna. I just thought everything was a big coincidence, until it finally dawned on me. Those men were looking for Klarissa!
"Wait..It was you who sent those men into my estate wasn't it?" I roared through the phone.
"Took you long enough to put the peices together. But you and your foul brothers murdered all my men." he said cooly through the phone. "Look, I'm far too old to be playing all these games with you. But before we make a deal I want to talk to her."
His words made my mind run in circles. All I could think about was how I didn't want to lose her. I know that I should be more worried abut the familia right now, but I wasn't. Before I could formulate an answer I heard a gentle knock on my door.
"What!" I growled before I saw the door slightly open.
"Lorenzo, I-." I heard Klarissa's soft voice say. Of course she has to decide to pay me a visit when I'm talking to her father.
"Is that her? Put her on the line." he yelled through the phone.
"Rissa, baby its your father. He wants to speak with you." I said calmly.
I watched her eyes grow large as she ran over to where I was sitting. I handed her the phone and she eagerly took it out of my hands.
"Papa?" she said as her voice cracked.
""No, no, estoy bien y sí, lo hace." she said into the phone.
Even though my Spanish isn't very good, I was thankful that it was good enough that I could understand what they were saying. Well, at least what she was saying.
"¿Y qué hay de Alicia y Mateo?" she asked.
Whatever he said must of been good, because she started to cry and smile. I'll never understand women and their emotions.
After a while of them catching up, she looked over at me making eye contact. From the way that she was looking at me, I knew that Tristian started to ask her questions about me.
""No papá, quiero quedarme" ..... "Estoy feliz aquí" ... "Me trata muy bien" .... "Está bien papá, te amo". she then hung up the phone and handed it to me. (No dad, I want to stay) ..... (I'm happy here) ... (He treats me very well) .... (Okay papa, I love you)
Her eyes were still wet with tears as she looked into my eyes. I could tell that she wanted to say something, but it looked like she didn't know how to say it.
"So you like staying here?" I asked breaking the silence. Her cheeks started to become flush and she had a horrified look on her face.
"Y-you speak Spanish, you understood everything I said?" she asked.
"Yeah, I speak a little bit of Spanish." I said cooly.
"I-i uh.. " she stuttered.
After a short moment of silence I asked, "Well was there something that you needed? Or did you just want to talk?"
"Umm no. This was a mistake, I shouldn't of come in here." she said before she quickly exited my office.
Damn, this woman really has me wrapped around her finger. All I want from her is to talk to me and she won't.
I just need to get her off my mind. Maybe I just need to go and get laid, I thought to myself. I played with the idea around in my head before deciding against it. Even though it's been awhile, the thought of touching someone else made me feel uncomfortable. I just want to touch her.
After downing the rest of my scotch, I placed the glass down on my dest and closed my eyes. Right when I was starting to relax I heard a knock at my door.
"What now?" I groaned while opening my eyes. When I opened my eyes I saw Angelo start to walk into the office.
"You sure know how to charm the ladies." he said with a chuckle as he sat down across from me.
"What do you mean?" I asked with confusion.
"Rissa, I saw her come out of here crying." he said with a grin on his face.
As I rolled my eyes he started to laugh.
"So what's going on between the two of you anyway?" he asked.
"I don't even know. I told her that I'd wait for her this morning." I admitted to him.
"YOU said that to her?" he screeched.
"Yeah, it's super complicated. I want her so bad, but she just doesn't feel the same way." I said while leaning farther back into my seat.
"Wow, you got it bad. Is the sex really that good?" he asked. I rolled my eyes at his statement.
"No, we haven't slept together." I said plainly.
"Your joking! All this and you're not getting laid." he said as he waved his hand around.
"Nope. Oh and I got a call from her father earlier, and he told me that it was him. He's the one that sent those men into our estate. All to get her back." I told him. I could feel the frustration growing within me.
"So it wasn't the French then?" Angelo said angrily.
"No it wasn't." I told him.
"Well what are you going to do about her? The house isn't going to be safe anymore if we keep her." he told me.
"She told him that he was happy here. That she likes being here with me, so I think things are going to be fine." I mumbled.
"They spoke?" he asked.
"Yeah, she came in while I was on the phone with him." I said.
"Well, it looks like you got a lot to sort out." he said as he stood up. "But you can deal with it later, dinner is ready."
"Good, I'm starving." I said as we walked toward the office door.
When we finally arrived in dining room everyone was already sitting around the table.
I then walked over and took my seat at the head of the table, which also happened to be next to Klarissa.
Dinner was just like the old times. It was full lots of laughter and Ciro's dumb jokes.
"I'm stuffed." Ciro said loudly as he slumped back in his chair.
"Yeah I'm not surprised, you basically ate everything." I said sarcastically.
"I wouldn't of been so hungry if you hadn't of made us work out." Ciro countered.
"I wouldn't even call it working out, it's more of just a fight club." Gianna added. "And why couldn't you wait to brawl till after the Thanks Giving. You guys are going to a bunch of bruises tomorrow."
"Well it's a little late for your novel idea." I said in a mocking tone.
"Whatever." I heard Gianna mumble under her breath.
After awhile, everyone started to get tired and decided to head up to their rooms. Once I reached my bedroom, I started to take my clothes off.
When I was left in only my underwear I got into bed. For the first time in a long time, I had this longing feeling in my heart. Before long, I drifted into a restless sleep.
