Clay was still holding me when his mom walked into the room.
"How are you feeling George?" she asked, sitting on the bed next to Clay and I.
"I'm feeling better." I say as I wipe some more tears from my face, which was still buried in Clay's chest.
"Have you eaten dinner? We ordered Chinese food and we put in yours and Henry's orders too." She said to me as she rubbed circles on my back.
"Thank you so much, Henry and I haven't eaten dinner." I say back as I pull away from Clay, who put his hand on my knee. It was a common occurrence for us to eat dinner at Clay's, considering our Dad forgets to go grocery shopping often.
"I'll call you boys down when it's here." She says, standing up and leaving the room.
"Thank you Clay, really." I say to Clay, as we make eye contact. My face goes red but I don't even care to hide it anymore.
"Of course, you can talk to me, you know, i'm here to make it better." Clay responds as he pulls me in for another hug. "Now, do you want to play a game, or just relax?" he asks me.
"Can we just relax?" I ask as I pull away and scoot up on the bed, resting my head on his pillow.
"Yea of course. Do you want me to lay down with you?" He asks, as he pulls his comforter up over my shoulder.
"If you want, I don't mind." I say, smiling at Clay. He climbs under the comforter with me, putting his head on the other pillow. I inched closer to him, putting my head on his shoulder. He responded by resting his head on mine, and we just stayed like that for about 15 minutes before his mom called us down.
"Boys! Dinner is here!" We hear from the bottom of the stairs. I lift my head off of Clay's shoulder and sit up.
"You ready?" Clay asks, sticking out his hand.
"Yea." I say smiling, taking his hand for him to help me up. Except he doesn't let go once I get up. He keeps his grasp on my hand, leading me to the kitchen, even though I knew where it was. As we got to the bottom of the stairs, Henry ran up to hug me, making Clay let go of my hand.
"Are you feeling better?" I asked, running my fingers through his soft, black hair.
"Yea I am. Are you feeling ok?" He asked, looking up at me. I could tell he was crying a lot since his eyes were all red, but i'm sure mine looked the same way.
"Yea I am, now let's eat, and remember to thank them." I say as I take a seat at the kitchen table next to Clay. Clay's mom slides my chicken and mixed vegetables over to me, passing a fork along with it.
Clay's dad then emerges from his office. "Hello boys, how are you guys?" He asks as he ruffles Henry's hair, and fist bumps me.
"We're doing ok." I respond, taking a bite of my food. Clay then puts his hand on my knee, and looks over at me. I could tell he was asking if I was doing ok, so I put my hand on his and nod. He keeps his hand on my knee for a few more minutes before moving it to start eating.
Henry and I are so lucky to have Clay's family, they have always treated us perfectly, and are here for us no matter what. As I finish eating, Clay takes my plate for me to put in the sink. He motions for me to come upstairs with him.
"Are you feeling ok?" He asks as we walk into his room. He shuts the door behind him.
"Yea i'm feeling fine, thanks for everything again." I say back.
"Ok i'm going to shower real quick but i'll be out in like 5 minutes, so if you need anything, just yell." He said, scooping up some clothes and going into his bathroom.
"Alright." I say, sitting back on his bed and pulling out my phone. I hear the shower turn on and I start to imagine Clay in the shower. I feel myself getting a bit um.... excited, so I put a pillow over my lap just in case. (horny jail for George).
I then realized what had just happened. I need to stop imagining Clay in my head, we're just best friends... right? I then hear the water turn off and Clay steps out with a towel wrapped around his waist.
"Sorry, I forgot underwear." He says, laughing, as he bends down to pick a pair up.
I can't help from staring at him, with his wet hair and shirtless body. I quickly snap out of it when he walks back out, with his plaid pajama pants on, and a white t-shirt.
"I should probably change into my pajamas." I say as I take my backpack into Clay's bathroom. The mirror was fogged from the hot shower. I rummaged through my bag and found my pajama pants, but no shirt. I slipped my pants on and walked out into Clay's room. He was sitting on his bed, looking at his phone, but he then looked up at me, staring, as I walked out of the room.
"Do you have a shirt I can borrow? I think I left mine at home." I asked. He seemed a bit flustered but he got up and dug through his drawer, and chucked a plain white shirt at me. I slipped it on, it was a bit big, but it will do. It also smelled like him which I enjoyed.
I climbed into Clay's bed and sat next to him. I looked at my phone, realizing it was 9 pm already. I was feeling very tired from the events of tonight.
"You can have the bed, i'll sleep on the floor." Clay said as he started to get up. I grabbed his wrist, causing him to stop.
"No it's fine, the bed is big enough for the two of us." I say, sliding over so there was more room.
"Alright whatever you say." He says, climbing into bed next to me.
"Goodnight George." He said to me, looking me in the eyes.
"Goodnight Clay." I say back. Almost instantly, I was asleep.
————————————
I woke up to the sound of an alarm. I opened my eyes to see Clay's face, about 2 inches away from me. He was still asleep, but it startled me. I sprung up out of bed, and went into Clay's bathroom to get changed for the day. I put on some gray sweatpants, and a black t-shirt. I smoothed my hair out with my hands, and opened the door to walk back into Clay's room. Clay was standing on the other side of the bed in his underwear, changing.
"Oh my god i'm so sorry." I say, turning away from him. I felt my face going extremely red.
"No it's fine I don't mind. You can turn back around." He said, giggling. I turned back around to see he also put on a pair of gray sweatpants, which made my face get even more red.
"My mom probably has breakfast ready." Clay says as he slips on a t-shirt with a hoodie over it. I followed him out of the room and sat at the breakfast nook, which had 4 plates of pancakes sitting out.
"Good morning boys," she said to us as we grabbed our plates, "how did you sleep George?" she asked me.
"I slept fine, thanks." I say as I cut a piece of my pancake and start eating it. Just then, Matt and Henry walk down the stairs.
"Morning boys," Clay's mom said, "take your pancakes." The boys took their pancakes and sat down at the chairs next to Clay and I.
"Feeling good?" I asked Henry, who looked over at me a mouth full of pancake, and nodded. Me and Clay laughed at his gesture.
By the time we were done eating, we had to get going to school. We put our plates in the sink and slipped on our shoes, grabbing our backpacks. As soon as I stepped outside I realized how cold it was, and me being the idiot that I am, forgot a sweatshirt. Clay seemed to notice how cold I was, because he took off his hoodie and handed it to me.
"Aren't you going to get cold?" I asked, slipping the hoodie on over my head.
"I'll be fine, but you need it Georgie." He said laughing. We arrived at the middle school and said goodbye to Matt and Henry, before going off to the high school.
"Thanks for last night, again, you really helped me." I say, looking up at Clay.
"Of course, George, i'm glad I was able to help. Remember if you need anything, i'm always here." He said, messing up my hair a bit. I smiled and fixed it, blushing at Clay's smile. We arrived at school and headed towards the cafeteria, to see Nick sitting in his usual spot.
"Awww is that Clay's hoodie?" Nick asked, pointing at my hoodie.
"Shutup Nick, I forgot mine." I said to Nick, laughing.

The final bell rang, and me and Clay rushed out of our classroom again. We walked to the middle school, cracking stupid jokes the whole way there. Henry and Matt greeted us with the hugs, as usual. Before we could part ways, Clay gave me a hug.
"You sure you're gonna be ok?" He asks, without pulling away.
"Yea i'll be ok Clay." I say back, wrapping my arms around his back.
"Please call me if you or Henry need anything, i'll be there for you immediately." He said, running circles on my back.
"Thank you Clay." I say back. He eventually pulled away, turning the opposite way towards his house, leaving me and Henry to walk home, alone.
