VANYA ANXIOUSLY SAT in the middle of the interrogation room with a pale, and poorly postured female interrogator standing in the corner of the room, waiting for the FBI agent to come in and question her.
She kept drinking the cup of water beside her as a coping mechanism from the nerve that was wracking inside her. Her eyes were focused on the table she rested her elbows on as she fidgeted with her fingers.
Eventually, the agent had arrived with a pen and small notepad in hand. Vanya watched him while he closed both of the blinds to make the room look even dimmer. "I'm Special Agent Willy Gibbs of the Federal Bureau of Investigation." He introduced himself, walking over to the seat across from the brunette.
"Where's Sissy? I need to talk to her." Vanya interjected, still had her mind concentrated on her so-called 'love'. Though her question was remained unanswered as Agent Willy operated the recording equipment.
Once it started recording, it was ten he answered her question. "Mrs. Cooper and the boy have been released back into the custody of Mr. Cooper." He finished with a clicking sound of his pen after he pulled it out of the spring of his notepad. This time, he was the one to ask a question. "What's your last name, Vanya?"
"Hargreeves." The brunette answered reluctantly.
"Do you have any ID that could attest to that?" Agent Willy interrogated, "No driver's license, birth certificate?"
Vanya remained quiet as she didn't know what to reply. She tried recalling everything, but her memory lane was completely empty. "You from around here?" The man questioned.
"No." She replied, although she wasn't able to make it her final answer, "I'm... I, uh... I'm not sure." She stammered.
Agent Will looked at her blankly. "You're not sure." He repeated in an interrogative manner. It felt like she was hiding something. Even when she wasn't.
Vanya elaborated what she by her response, "Well, I told the other officer I was his by a car. I have amnesia."
The Agent in front of her wasn't convinced. He needed to dig deeper to know if his assumptions were true. "Right. Yes, amnesia. They told me about that. So how does that work, exactly?"
"I can't remember anything from before a month ago." The brunette explained.
"Except your name, of course." He pointed out as he started pacing back and forth slowly on his space.
Vanya glanced up to him shortly whilst trying to figure out where the interrogation was leading to. However, she though he would suspect her more if she leaves his question with nothing, "Yeah, except my name."
"As far as I can tell, it's like you simply... materialized out if thin air." Agent Willy pressed, expecting to see any signs of denial coming from Vanya Hargreeves.
The brunette only looked at him with a frown, "Welcome to my world."

Y/N sighed while she scratched her head out of exhaustion. I knew it would result to nothing. She thought as she stared down on the ground while Five started trudging back and forth angrily. "Now what?" Luther suddenly asked out of frustration.
"Now nothing, Luther, all right?" Number Five spat, "Make your peace with God." He exclaimed, still disappointed in the others for not making in on time.
The built man was in disbelief, "What? What about Allison and Vanya?"
Y/N shifted after she folded her arms, putting her weight on her right leg. She was starting to get the feeling Luther had already lost most of his braincells. "They can't even get themselves here in time, what makes you think they'd be here earlier when doomsday comes in?" She grumbled with a sigh.
"What about Diego?" Klaus groaned, still lying on the ground as Five kicked on a cardboard box beside the dumpster with a grunt. "He's quite a responsible you man, no?" Klaus added.
"Something must've happened to them." Luther concluded.
"Screw Diego, all right? Screw everybody!" Five shouted. Y/N would be lying if she wasn't getting deaf. Compared to the others, she wasn't making a big deal about it anymore. She already warned the boy about the catch, it wasn't her choice to waste their time on doing such a barbaric task in exchange for a silly old briefcase that had a time limit that was too short to have the rest of them gathered together.
"I was better off on my own in the apocalypse." The boy snarled. Although Y/N knew he didn't mean it, she still felt a little offended. Seeing as she was always there to help him, his remark made her think he didn't need her or want her to be around.
Then again, she was easy to talk to. If someone didn't want her around or she received the gesture that she wasn't wanted anywhere, she'd gladly oblige.
Now that she thought about it, she decided to walk inside and play a game of solitaire as if it wasn't her problem any longer. Knowing the Ben was there, she greeted him telepathically. “See you later, Ben. Hope you had a great experience in Klaus' Body.”
Even though Ben knew she couldn't see him, he responded with a wave before swatting away the vomit off his hand.
"Five!" Luther snapped him out, "Come on." He urged him to settle down.
"You know what, Luther? It's every sibling for himself now." Number Five sarcastically pointed out before storming off with his arms spread out, "How 'bout that?"
Luther watched him confusingly as he slammed the door shut after he entered the building. Klaus, on the other hand, was whimpering on the ground, clutching on his stomach. "Did Five just get meaner?"
Spaceboy knew right away that he needed to talk Five into going back to saving the world from doomsday. Not just him, but Y/N as well. She didn't look so fazed when she left the alley. He thought it was clear that she had already decided to just let it happen. He dreaded to admit it, but she needed her help. "Klaus, go check on Allison, okay? Make sure she's okay." He ordered to his hungover brother, "Find the others and we'll meet back here. I'll handle Five and Y/N."
With that, he paced over towards the back entrance of the building. Leaving Klaus alone with Ben, who was covered in his vomit. He stood up with a grunt as he faced Ben with a glare. "And you," he started stumbling as he struggled to get his balance back, "you have had your possession privileges revoked." He scolded at Ben.
Ben looked at him with so much pride, "I regret nothing." He expressed as Klaus trudged away.
"Just stay out of me." Klaus demanded.
"I regret nothing!"
"Back off!"
Meanwhile, Five let out a sigh while he took the stairs with Luther following from behind. "Hey! Five, doomsday is still coming." Luther addressed, "We gotta think of a new plan." He said.
Number Five was already fed up with his so-called pep talk. "Don't you get it, Luther? It's over, all right? We're already dead."
"Then where are you going?" Luther questioned, skipping a couple of steps to catch up to his brother.
"I'm going to do the unthinkable." The boy answered harshly. His brother got even more confused, "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
Five let out a sigh, "I was really hoping it wouldn't come to this." He grumbled under his breath, entering the room. As he did so, he took a short glance at Y/N, who was nonchalantly playing solitaire on the small dining table placed in the kitchen before walking into another room to be alone with his thoughts.
"Come to what, Five?" Y/N heard Luther ask. All he got was the closing of the door as a reply from the boy. "Five." Luther called out as he closed the door. When he got in front of the room Five trapped himself in, he twisted the knob only to find out it was locked. "Five!" He called out again with a knock, "Come to what? Five!"
Y/N placed down the remaining deck of cards in her hand to drink a glass of water that was beside her. Once she finished, she heard Luther's thoughts of kicking the door open. "Luther, I think it's best to leave him be for a while instead of busting that door open." She suggested as she went back to her game, "You never know what might happen if you do that."
Luther would be fibbing if he thought she wasn't right. "Fine." He exhaled and walked towards the messy living room to lay himself down until he falls asleep.
As the girl was about to reshuffle the cards for another round. She heard Five's voice contacting her up in her head. “Y/N, can you come in here, please?”
She contemplated whether or not to go to Five. Y/N was simply getting addicted to the particular card game she was playing. She couldn't stop. She didn't want to stop. Besides, he said he was better off on his own, didn't he?
So she continued shuffling the deck in her hand. “Depends. Are you done with your temper tantrum?” She asked out of sarcasm while she was placing seven columns. A part of her slightly delivered it out of annoyance.
The girl let out a sigh when she didn't hear anything from Five any longer. It's almost as if her conscience was pushing her to just do it.
Grumbling, she stood up from her seat, leaving the deck of cards untouched on the table as she walked up to the room Number Five was in. She lightly knocked on the door twice with the flexor bone of her index finger.
She went face to face with Five as soon as he opened the door. The unamused frown remained on her face unlike Five, who had a tedious expression on his. "I distinctly recall you saying you're better off on your own." She stated, putting her hands in the pockets of her jeans.
"I didn't mean that." Five said. He would've apologized, but knowing he would do it again, it would seem pointless if he did.
Y/N replied with a hum. She wished the conversation ended there. She wasn't in the mood to interact with anybody. Even if it was Five. She didn't know why. She just wanted to be alone for a while.
Though it was Five she was talking to. Knowing him, he wasn't one for small talk. When she entered the room Five was in, she leaned back on a wall. "So what now?" She asked softly, rubbing her right (or left) eye.
"I have another way." Five admitted, tugging on his hair in the back.
Y/N was skeptical, "What do you mean?" She questioned as she propped herself up. She was curious about it until she remembered his backstory during his occupation in the Commission. "You're gonna look for yourself, aren't you?" She concluded.
The boy thought she was against it, "I'm afraid that's the only plan I ha--"
"Did I say I wasn't okay with it?" She chuckled, "Just tell me the consequence of it." She preceded.
For a moment there, he forgot she could read his mind as she knew there was a side effect to his plan. But he went on, "Paradox psychosis."
The girl looked at the floor and pondered over it. Since Y/N already knew what it meant because she studied such things back then out of boredom, it wasn't much of a surprise to her. "Doesn't that get severe the longer you are with your temporal assassin self?" She was worried about the things that could happen to Five when he gets it. He could already make a morning slaughter at his current state, what happens if he gets to the final stage?
"That's why I need you and Luther to come with me." Five explained as he got closer to her, "When the psychosis gets worse, I need the both of you to snap me out of it."
The way how he explained it made Y/N feel weirded out. He was somewhat tense and eager. "What time does he arrive?" She asked.
Number Five looked at his watched before answering, "He arrives in 5 minutes."
Y/N seemed reluctant about the plan, although a part of her wanted to actually see what he looked like in his older physique. "All right." She breathed out, "Let's get you ready, yeah?"
When she was about to walk out of the room, she felt a slight tug on her wrist. When she turned to Five, it confused her as to why his manic looking face turned into a concerned one. "You're not mad at me, are you?" He asked out of the blue.
"What made you think I'm mad?" She chuckled as she furrowed her eyebrows, walking closer to him. Number Five shrugged, "You had that frown on you the whole time I was talking and--"
"Five." Y/N interrupted as she cover his mouth with her hand to shut him up. "I'm not mad, I'm just tired. Literally." She explained before she retracted her hand and held his, "I'll just give myself something with caffeine and I'll be all good. Now, let's go meet that asshole."
With that, she kissed him on the cheek and dragged him out of the room with her.
"But I am that asshole." Number Five remarked, not sure if he should take it seriously and be offended or not.
"I know." Y/N assured, turning to him. "But you're more attractive." She added with a wink before she urged him towards the kitchen.

Diego sat in front of the Handler's desk. Beside him was Lila who recruited him to be a part of the Commission without knowing about it. It looked like the Handler would decline Lila's preference. "Are you kidding me?" She rebuked.
Lila looked at her mother as if she outsmarted the Handler. "You said I could I hire my own team." She shot back.
"Yes, but I didn't mean him, for God's sake." The Handler told her with spite as she gave a deadpan glance at the man in front of her, "If you don't see the problem with hiring you-know-who's brother, then you're not ready for that badge." She insisted.
As they both argue about whether he gets to stay or not, Diego remembered about their way home. So he spoke up a polite as he could get, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I really need to get going."
"Shut up!" Only to get yelled by the two women.
Lila was persistent about her desire. She wasn't standing down, "I can't do this job if you don't trust my instincts." She said.
Handler leaned back to her seat as she placed her cigarette holder on the ashtray beside her. The disapproving look on her face remained still while she looked down on her daughter's choice. "Sweetheart," she started, "your vagina needs glasses. He is not worth it."
"Mum! Oh, my God." Lila acted as if she was an embarrassed teenager, "This may shock you, but not everyone here likes you." She remarked.
The Handler looked at her blankly, "Sounds ridiculous, but go on."
"You need fresh blood loyal to us and not the old regime." Lila elaborated. Diego was still dumbfounded about what was happening as she continued, "I've seen Diego in the field. He is so much better trained than most of the assholes here. Why waste that when we can use it?" She proposed, "He'll be my personal responsibility."
The Handler seemed intrigued by Lila's offer. Though she couldn't be too sure. After her encounter with hiring Y/N as part of being a temporal assassin, she became doubtful of taking in another one that were born and raised in the Umbrella Academy.
She glanced at Diego, who gave a tight-lipped smile, in a pondering way as she went and picked up a new cigarette stick to put in her holder. "You know, you're brother Five and I..." She began, "we have quite.. a colorful history."
Diego was suddenly interested in the conversation they were having. "My brother has beef with everybody," he stated, "me included."
The head of the Commission seemed to be giving into her daughter's offer. All she had to do now was to confirm one thing. "Let me ask you something." The Handler continued, "When you're looking down the barrel of a gun, where do your loyalties lie, with your family or your principles?"
"With me." He answered, eaving the Handler impressed by his reply, "I don't belong to anybody." He turned sideways to look at Lila with such aversion, "Especially Lila."
Lila didn't show it, but she was hurt by his words. Though her mother thought otherwise, "Well that I can work with." she exclaimed before instructing her daughter, "Run him through orientation, fill out his start paperwork."
Lila felt victorious that her grin appeared almost instantly. "But.." Handler interfered, "if he ruffles even one feather, you will kill him yourself. Understood?"
"Thanks, Mum." Lila smiled.
Handler gave her a shrug as if she was saying 'you're welcome' as she sucked the smoke out off her cigarette, leaning back.
Although Diego didn't have a single idea on where or what he was going to do around the Commission, he knew there was something in the place he could do to help him and his family.

Luther jolted awake from the sound of the refrigerator opening. "Five?" Luther sputtered and groaned. Once he sat up, he saw Y/N grabbing baby powder from the desk drawer behind the couch and walking back to the kitchen without a word.
Confused, he followed the girl towards the kitchen. "Five, Y/N, what.." He he held back his tongue after he caught a glimpse of Five chugging down a large bottle of water. Y/N poured herself a cup of coffee and poured a little bit of cold water in it just so she could chug it down as well, not caring if the temperature of her drink would make the taste awful. Although she could already predict that she wouldn't be good at any help later on, she needed to stay awake at least.
Luther narrowed his eyes on the both of them in a skeptical way, "You guys okay?" He questioned.
Number Five darted his eyes at his brother, finishing drinking up the water with a slurp. He took the bottle off from his mouth, all quenched as he panted. He put the lid back on the bottle before he answered Luther, "I'm gonna need to be hydrated."
Luther almost didn't understand what he said, "Hydrated?" He watched him take the baby powder Y/N brought and violently sprinkled some on his armpits. "What's with the baby powder?" Slowly asked Luther.
"To reduce the itching." Y/N answered after she finished washing up the mug she used, trying not to glance at Five, who was now putting some talc into his pants as she believed she had enough of seeing such strange events.
The built man still didn't have a single idea on what was going on. "What itching? There's itching? What the hell is going on here?" None of them answered Luther until realization hit him like truck, "You do have a plan." He gasped.
"No shit, Sherlock." Y/N scoffed before she headed out of the kitchen and waited for them to finish their discussion.
Number Five exhaled while he hopped once to spread the baby powder throughout his body. "Well, it's a desperation move, but..." He grabbed his blazer from the table before continuing, "since our brain-dead siblings are incapable of meeting a simple deadline, I got no choice."
He kept ranting out how he had no other choice but to do it and yet Spaceboy still didn't know what he was talking about. "No choice about what?"
"I have to find myself."
Luther couldn't help but ponder about it as he didn't know what he meant by finding himself. Since Y/N could read his mind, she tried her best to stifle her laughter. "He meant literally, Luther." She explained. Yet he still didn't get it.
"I just arrived in Dallas 15 minutes ago." Five stated after looking at his watch. As he put it back in his pockets, he slipped his arm through his blazer.
"Should I be worried about you?" Luther questioned. Y/N couldn't help but facepalm herself.
"Luther, if you recall, I was sent to 1963 on a job by the Commission to make sure the president was assassinated." He emphasized as he started stretching as if he was warming up for a run.
It was then he knew what he was referring to, "Oh! So, wait, your old self is out there."
"Precisely." Number Five drawled as he rounded his neck.
"What, just walking around Dallas?"
"Walking around Dallas with a briefcase that can get us home." The boy emphasized.
Oh, how the fascination got the best of Luther. "Oh, my God. Five, you're a genius." He exclaimed. From that moment, Y/N confirmed to herself that Luther shared a brain cell with someone.
"However, there are two significant problems with this plan." The boy fretted. "Problem number one:" he began as he turned to slowly walk around the room while he tugged on his hair, "I am a trained assassin, arguably the most dangerous assassin in the space-time continuum. If I know me, I'm not going to react kindly to bumping into myself."
Luther listened to him like he was the drill sergeant in the military. Y/N, on the other hand, had her eyes following every move Five made. "Problem number two, and this is the real fly in the ointment here:" he went on, "you're not supposed to exist in close proximity to yourself in the same timeline. The side effects can be very disastrous."
"Side effects? What sort of side effects?" Luther wondered.
Number Five rubbed his hands together as he explained everything to his brother, "Well, according to Commission handbook Chapter 27, subsection 3b, the seven stages in paradox psychosis are...
"Stage one: DENIAL
Two: ITCHING
Three: EXTREME THIRST AND URINATION
Four: EXCESSIVE GAS
Five: ACUTE PARANOIA
Six: UNCONTROLLED PERSPIRATION; and
Seven: HOMICIDAL RAGE."
Y/N walked up behind him with a confused look on her face and followed the same direction his eyes were fixated on. "What the hell are you looking at?" She questioned as there wasn't even anything worth looking at in the particular direction.
"Homicidal rage?" Luther repeated out of uncertainty.
"Yeah."
Something held his brother back from the plan. Now that he mentioned about the stage of paradox psychosis, he seem hesitant to do the plan now. "Jeez, I don't know. This maybe isn't such a good idea." Luther queried after a short period of think about it.
"It's a Hail Mary." Five hollered, "But what choice do we got, Luther?"
For the first time in forever, Luther and Y/N had the same thought about the said plan. "I don't know, you already seem a bit squirrelly, if I'm being honest." He doubted.
Five walked up to him like a man who was too alarmed by their surroundings. "Look, Luther, I'm gonna need the both of you and Y/N to help get through this one, all right? I.." Five paused for a short moment to think of the specific name for it, "I need spotters."
Luther's brows were knitted together, dumbfounded. "Spotters?" Five confirmed what his brother repeated with a nod and a quiet, "Yeah."
"What is that? Like, a wingman?"
Y/N couldn't help but slouch at his guess. Does he need an explanation for everything? She internally snarled, but she elaborated it to him anyway. "If the paradox psychosis gets even worse, we need to get him to stay on task." She said.
Five continued her explanation, "So, whatever happens, whatever I say, we need to get that briefcase. Okay?"
As much as Luther was still uncertain about the plan, he didn't have a choice but to oblige. He could already see the desperation in his eyes. "Okay."
"All right. Let's get this done." Y/N chimed before walking out with Five following hot on her heels. When she realized Luther was still standing on the same spot, lost in his trance, she used her telekinesis to drag him along with them.
