Harry's pov
"Alright, it's 9pm and you're leaving tomorrow, what are we doing?" She asks.
"I don't know." I shrug, eating another bite of pizza.
"I thought you were vegan? That has pepperoni you know?" She says.
"I'm not vegan. I lied, I just don't eat meat a lot." I reply.
"You lied?"
"Mhm. Just wanted to impress you so you thought I was all healthy." I say.
"Aww, you wanted to impress me." She teases.
"Shut up." I mumble, embarrassed.
"You're blushing." She says, poking my cheeks.
"I hate you."
I love you.
"Whatever. Hurry up and think of something to do. I don't want to be sitting here and waste our precious time." She says.
"I think I have an idea." I say.
"Let me guess, you're gonna drag me someplace and not tell me where we're going the whole way there." She deadpans.
She knows me so well.
"Bingo." I smile, grabbing her hand and pulling her to the front door.
We slip on our shoes and hop in the car.
"Ok, how about a hint?" She says.
"Nope." I shake my head smiling, looking at the road.
"Ugh. You and your fucking surprises." She groans.
"You know you love them." I tease.
"No. I don't." She shakes her head making me laugh.
We both walk out to the car and once she's all buckled up I start driving. She grabs the aux, as usual, and starts playing a song.
*play song now*
I look over to see her looking straight ahead, wind blowing her hair, her eyes closed while she listens to the song blasting through the car.
I smile to myself, turning back to look at the road with the picture of her still imprinted in my brain.
Wouldn't want it any other way.
"What is this song?" I ask.
"You've never heard this before?" She gasps, sitting back up and putting her full attention on me.
I shake my head and she scoffs, "You know there is other music besides yours."
"No? Really?" I gasp dramatically making her roll her eyes with a smile.
"Well at least I can expand your music taste." She smiles.
"Please, American girl. Play songs I've never heard." I turn to smile at her. She smiles back shaking her head making me laugh lightly.
How is she always so gorgeous?
I hate myself for being in love with her, but at the same time I don't care. That's what fucks me up even more.
I look back to the road and I hear her lightly singing along to the song while I just study every little sound that comes out of her perfect lips.
"How far is this place?" She asks.
"Not sure. But you'll love it. Promise." I smile.
"I better." She mumbles, turning to look out the window.
I catch myself looking at her again. I can't help it. I guess it's just the excitement or satisfaction of knowing what the feelings were that I've always felt for her.
Why her smile makes me smile.
Her silly little jokes that can always make me laugh no matter what situation.
The reason my stomach twists in knots when her eyes fill up with excitement.
Because I'm in love with her.
"I know you are not staring at my side profile." She says, her voice low and in a warning tone.
I snap my head to the road, embarrassed that she caught me and also terrified because I know how she feels about her side profile.
"Nope. Wasn't me." I shrug.
"Pull over."
"What?" I ask.
"Pull. Over." She warns.
My eyes go wide and I pull to the side of the road and into the dirt area. We were on a secluded street, far from the main part of the city.
"What are you-"
I was cut off by Emma whipping the door open and running a few feet away from the car, stopping to look at me with a smile.
"Emma. Get back in the car." I say.
She just shakes her head and I furrow my brows. She catches me by surprise when she runs over to my side and opens the door, grabbing my hand and pulling me into the dirt.
"Emma." I laugh.
"Come on." She urges me.
"What are we doing?" I ask softly.
She goes on her tippy toes and brings her mouth over to my ear to whisper, "Dancing."
"What?" I say, furrowing my eyebrows.
She slowly starts swaying while backing away from me. I laugh as she starts spinning with her arms out like a helicopter.
I like that dance move.
I'm gonna steal it.
"Come on, British boy. Live a little." She smiles at me.
"I live all the time." I defend.
"Have you ever pulled over on the side of the road to dance?" She asks.
"No." I sigh.
Emma grabs my hands and pulls me to dance with her, jumping up and down, her hair flying everywhere while she sings.
"But I crumble completely when you cry! Seems like once again you have to greet me with goodbye!"
Her eyes are shut while she sings along with a smile, releasing my hands as she starts to dance more and feel the music.
I stop dancing and just stare at her, mesmerized by every little thing she does. I can't take my eyes off her and I don't ever want to.
"You're supposed to dance with me idiot." She laughs making me laugh.
She grabs both of my hands and we just spin in circles, laughing until our stomachs hurt.
"This is so cliche." She laughs.
"Who cares?" I shrug.
Emma accidentally trips on a rock, dragging me down as we both fall. I land on top of her and she lets out an inhumane wheeze that made me cackle as I rolled off her.
We both sit on the ground staring up at the stars, making this whole experience even more cheesy if that was possible.
I turn to look at her again, her eyes closed as she lays so peacefully, almost like she's dead.
"Harold Edward Styles what the fuck did I say about my side profile?" She says, eyes still closed.
"I-I'm not even looking I swear." I rush out as she opens one eye to look at me and I quickly turn my head and she just sassily hums, "Mhm."
"Harry?" She asks, her voice soft.
"Yes?" I reply.
"You know how everyone always lays under the stars and then confesses their love for each other under the stars in movies?" She says making my heart beat faster as she speaks.
"Yeah." I breathe out.
"What if we...commit murder instead?" She says, turning to me with a smile.
"That would be pretty interesting." I laugh, both of us staring at each other with big smiles that made our cheeks hurt.
I don't think I've ever smiled so much in a day.
"Think of how much more famous you'll be. British singer, Harry styles murders Snoopy."
"Snoopy? Why would I murder Snoopy?" I say.
"I don't know, you tell me man." She shrugs.
"I would never murder Snoopy." I shake my head, smiling for the hundredth time.
"Yeah, you're right. Wouldn't want Woodstock to come after you. I know that little guy is deadly." She says with wide eyes like she's getting war flashbacks.
"Can I show you the surprise now?" I ask.
"Fine." She groans.
I stand up and start to walk back to the car until I realize Emma isn't following. I turn to see her still laying down.
"Emma?" I say.
"You have to help me up." She replies, sticking her arms up straight.
"Fine." I mumble, walking back over to her.
I grab her hands and try to pull her up, but it doesn't work. I just give in and scoop her up, carrying her to the car bridal style.
"That's right. Carry me cause you're my bitch." She nods.
"I hate you." I laugh.
"Whatever you say, bitch."
-
"This place is cute, but I don't understand why we're here." She says.
"You'll see." I smile as we walk in.
Nobody else is here besides us and we walk to the counter. The girl at the counters eyes go wide as she sees me then she smiles.
"So, you're here for the drink." She says and I nod.
"Yes, can I get two?" I reply.
"Wait, what drink?" Emma says, confused.
"I said you'll see." I reply.
"Ok, will that be all?"
"Yes." I nod, pulling out my wallet.
"I am so confused." Emma says.
I just laugh and pay for the drinks, leaving a tip and a little thank you note to the waitress on the receipt.
I grab the drinks before Emma could see them and rush out the door.
"Wait! Harry I swear to god I'll beat you and that perfect ass up!" Emma yells behind me.
We get back to the car and Emma is pouting because I haven't shown her the drinks.
"Alright, ready?" I ask.
"Yes." She groans.
"Okay. 3. 2-"
"Show me the damn drink."
"Ok jeez." I say in surrender, grabbing the drinks and showing her.
"Whoa. What are these?" She says, grabbing the drink.
"It's called sweet creature."
"That is so cute." She says.
"I know. Mitch told me about and I had to see." I say.
"Well, I don't usually drink coffee at 10pm, but I'm willing to make an exception for you Styles." She says.
"I am touched." I say, placing my hand over my heart.
"Alright, don't ruin in." She says, playfully nudging my arm.
"Let's try it." I say.
We both take a sip, taking a few seconds to let it sink in as we lay back in our seats.
"It's..."
"...Fucking delicious." Emma finishes my sentence making me laugh.
"Definitely what I imagined my song to taste like." I nod in agreement.
"Now let's go before I buy 100 more." She says.
I just smile and shake my head, starting the car and stealing another glance at her.
Today was a good day.
