"Sasuke here at point B!"
"Sakura here at point C!"
"Kiwayo here at point D!"
"Naruto. I'm at point A, believe it!"
"Naruto, you're slow. Okay squad seven... The target has moved follow it!" We all moved following the target. Still hidden. "Okay, what's your distance from the target?"
"Five meters I can go at any time." Naruto whispered.
"Same here." I whispered.
"Me too." Sakura quietly spoke
"I'm ready." Sasuke pointed out.
"Okay... Do it!" Kakashi encouraged. At that moment we all jumped towards the cat. Naruto was the one to grab the cat.
"Target confirmed he has the ribbon on his ear!" I told Kakashi-sensei through the microphone. I looked over at Naruto being beaten up by the cat. I felt bad for Naruto.
"Mission capture lost pet "Tora" complete!" Kakashi told us through the earphones.
"Isn't there a mission with a greater sense of urgency to it?!" I held my ear after Naruto's outburst. I didn't feel so sorry the cat was pummeling him now.
When we returned the cat I saw her own squishing the cat. Well, she was the feudal lords wife so not like I could say cat abuse.
"Well, squad sevens next mission..." He started listing off some options.
"NO! No, thank you! I want a more exciting mission! Give us something else!" I understand where Naruto is coming from but, as for me personally I was content with the work I was doing now. The people we work for sometimes give us free food... Don't judge me. For the first time ever I had a rice ball because of the free food we got. Although it would be nice to stretch my legs and travel.
"You fool! You are still bottom rookies at the bottom everyone moves up the ladder by gaining experience from simple missions!" Iruka-sensei exploded.
"But it's been nothing but blah missions so far!" Naruto argued. Kakashi hit Naruto on the head.
"Knock it off." Kakashi warned. The hokage started explaining the mission ranks. I found it very interesting. I now knew how I was going to get paid.
"Hm?!" The hokage questioned. I noticed Naruto then reciting something.
"Yesterday's lunch was pork-bone broth noodles, so today will be miso-broth."
"Listen!" The hokage yelled clearly aggravated.
"Maaaan, you always lecture me old man!" Naruto complained. "But, i'm not the little prankster that you think I am!" He huffed and turned away. Lord Hokage-chan and Iruka-sensei gave a slight laugh to that.
"Okay! Fine, if you insist i'll have you do a c-rank mission! You'll be bodyguards for someone."
"Who? Who? A feudal lord? A princess?" Naruto asked excited. I know I wouldn't mind body guarding a princess.
"Don't get so hasty I'll introduce you now! Could you please come in..." We all turned to the door excited for who we would bodyguard. I doubt it was a princess but one couldn't help but hope.
The door opened and an old man came in.
"What's this it's just a bunch of squirts!" He took a long drink from his sake body. He had been drinking and still was drinking. My spirits sunk I had hoped it was a princess. Well, this was bound to be an interesting mission."Particularly the small one with the idiot face. Are you really a ninja?" We all lined up to see who was the shortest. I was the same height as Sakura. So Naruto was the shortest one.
"I'll kill him!" Naruto shouted angry.
"How are you going to kill the client you are suppose to be guarding idiot?" Kakashi said holding the fuming Naruto back.
"I'm Tazuna master bridge builder. You'll be risking your life and limbs to protect me to the max until I return to my land and complete my bridge!" He stated.
"Kiwayo." The hokage called. I headed over to his desk.
"Yes, Lord Hokage-chan?" He seemed to have gotten use to the name and continued on.
"I need you to work with team 8 until team 7 returns."
"Why?!?" I complained. At this point my whole team was paying attention.
"We need your help here."
"Okay..." I looked over at my team and then Sakura but Sakura was secretly trying to sniff Sasuke's hair while he was so distracted. I heard Sasuke mutter something like 'must be because she's a weakling.' I looked down at the floor. The rest of my team left to go get ready for the mission.
"I'm sorry Kiwayo." He comforted me.
"Why?" He seemed a little shocked at my serious demeanor
"I told you we need you here."
"Bull crap I can tell whether or not someone is lying." I hate being lied to.
"We don't want you to the land of the waves. It's well, not somewhere you should be near." The hokage told me. I then remembered my conversation back at the barbecue forever ago. Agh. How unfair.
"See, don't you feel much better telling me the truth!" I smiled sarcastically and then left. I decided to go and eat some rice balls. I found out they have them at the convenience stores.
I was very annoyed. I walked down to the training field and started beating the crap of a dummy that was set up. I took a break and devoured my riceballs. I don't like the hokage anymore how dare he lie to me. Thinking about it made me upset I threw my trash at a tree with a little chakra added in. It made a small dent. I should be going out on a mission! I'll just ask the hokage for a mission. With that I set off back to the hokages tower.
I was right outside the room. I knocked on the door. The hokage stopped talking all of the sudden.
"Kiwayo! How convenient come in." I headed in. How did he know it was me even though the door was closed? "I was just explaining to team 8 how you would join them." He took a smoke from his pipe.
"I don't wanna." I complained. He choked on his smoke for a second.
"Kiwayo, try to understand we can't just have you doing nothing for days until team 7 returns."
"I agree. I want a solo mission." I looked at the hokage in the eyes.
"I'm afraid I can't do that."
"Then put me on a C rank mission with a different team." The others were interested in what I was saying.
"I'm afraid I can't."
"Lord Hokage-chan I want a C rank mission. Sakura and the rest get to go on one why don't I?" I had cornered the hokage he very well couldn't tell team 8 it might alarm them and quite frankly it wasn't any of their business.
"What?!" I noticed Kiba complaining. "They got a C rank mission!" Hinata also seemed a little shocked then it turned to worry. Shino just stood there all silent like.
"What they are doing doesn't matter." The hokage tried to quickly end the matter.
"We want a C rank mission too!" The hokage was firm this time. I suspect the reason team 7 had gotten a mission was because of Naruto. In fact I know that's why.
"Lord hokage, I request a C rank mission." I had a serious tone in my voice and even dropped the -chan. He sighed.
"I will give you a mission Kiwayo. The rest of you. Aren't prepared enough to have a C rank mission." After that the hokage assigned them a mission and promptly had them leave.
"What's my mission Lord Hokge-chan?" I asked. I was so eager I started stretching and warming up.
"No need to be so hasty." He sighed taking a smoke from his pipe. "I need you to deliver a document. It's not particularly that valuable. We could send it by hawk but due to some circumstances we have to send a ninja." He paused smoked his pipe and then looked at me straight in the eye.
"The ninja i'm sending is you." He pointed with his hand that held the pipe. "It's a document about border, boundaries and the like. We were asked to compose the document as a neutral party. It's between the land of rivers and land of wind." He turned to the Anbu behind him and nodded. The anbu came back seconds later with the documents. "There will of course be two copies of the document. The ninja from the Village Hidden in Valleys will meet you." He pulled out a map with the point we were suppose to meet up at.
"You will deliver the other directly to the Village Hidden in Sand. They will have to have some sort of authentication test done on it almost certainly. You will be required to stay there during that time. It should be a couple of days. That is why we have to send a ninja."
"Usually we have to send a ninja squad. This makes the plus one system convenient. I mean I can't send an Anbu or a Jonin." The hokage seemed to be having a little rant.
"Anyway leave as soon as possible." He handed me some stuff I would need. A passport for crossing the border. Proof i'm a ninja of the Leaf.
I headed out of the hokage's room. I decided to pass by the gate. I saw Sakura and the rest about to leave.
"Sakura!" She looked at me in surprise.
"Kiwayo! Are you coming?" She asked.
"Unfortunately not. I just wanted to wish you luck. Have courage because I know just how awesome you are! Sasuke don't die that would make Sakura sad. Naruto don't pull to many pranks and remember to think." A tick mark appeared on Naruto's forehead.
"I'd do that even without you telling me!" Naruto shouted.
"Kakashi, although I know you like being late. Don't take too long on the mission. I would miss my best friend."
"Kiwayo is that how you think of me?" Naruto excited asked.
"I was referring to Sakura." I paused. "Although I guess you are a friend."
"What's Sasuke?" Naruto asked. I looked at Sakura not wanting to make her mad.
"A teammate." Sasuke didn't do anything just stayed there emotionless. Wait, I saw a smirk appear on his face.
"I see." Clearly he thought he had pieced things together. He probably thought I was a fangirl too scared to admit my feelings. I didn't care what he thought about me.
"Bye then. I have my own mission to prepare for! Be brave Sakura!" I dashed off. Sakura yelled a bye and they headed off on their mission.
I headed back to my apartment. I grabbed Koyo and the rest of my weapons. I grabbed all my beef jerky and then headed to the convenience store. I grabbed soup mixes, rice and a bunch of rice balls. I had a pot on my head. When it nearly fell off I put it in my pack. Ready I headed off out of the village. As soon as I got out I did a transformation jutsu and took off my headband. I didn't want to run into anyone from my past and have them recognize me.
~Lord hokage Pov~
"Are you sure that you should have sent her without a Anbu?" Iruka asked.
"We've had her here for six months. Think of this like a test. Besides, we will know if she opens the document we have a seal on it." I took a puff out of my pipe. This was getting interesting. Soon enough my moment of peace was interrupted and I had to get back to work. Damn paperwork.
~Kiwayo's pov~
I jumped through the trees the feeling of freedom hitting I had been cramped in that village. My talents were being stifled. I like team 7 and everything but you know I feel like I should be going on harder missions. Soon enough I had to stop and take a break I didn't have that much stamina. I took a break for water and looked at the map rechecking where I had to go and where the meet up point would be.
I suddenly felt the presence of other ninja behind me. 2, ninja were behind me. I pulled out my sword and hoped I could handle them. They were walking but they headed straight in my direction. Then their chakra signatures disappeared. I tensed where were they. I searched in every direction and then a second later I noticed them. I didn't find their chakra sources but rather I heard one of their voices.
"Well, look at this a pretty girl." I turned around to find a blue man with a monstrous sword. I shook in fear his presence was intimidating. I tried to remember I was the one who was suppose to be fearless. I whipped my sword toward them but soon found they were not there anymore.
"Kill her quickly we have to report to leader-sama." The other guy who was there said impaciently. He had dark black hair that matched his eye. The rest of him was covered by a dark black clock dotted with red clouds that all looked the same. I noticed the crossed out head band on their heads. The blood from my face fell. I knew who they were. The clock, the headbands, the unimaginable speed they were the Akatsuki.
"You suck the fun out of everything Itachi." He swung his sword towards me I tried desperately to block and for a second it had seemed I suceeded. I felt my chakra leaving me. His sword was sucking out all my chakra I collasped to the ground I tried desperately to dodge or counter his next blow but I was too slow. The scaly sword ran across me.
