Ava and Hayden were currently in the middle of the road because Ava's new truck had broke down. They were trying to have a good date as their previous ones in the last few months haven't been the best.
"What?" Hayden asked when she noticed Ava looking around suspiciously.
"Nothin'." Ava sighed as she stood back up.
"We should have taken my car. Like I said. Several times." Hayden smirked playfully.
"It's a new car." Ava defended.
"It was new to someone." Hayden grinned. "About twenty years ago."
Ava chuckled mockingly then went around to the back of her new truck. Ava clicked her tongue to the top of her mouth when she noticed something.
"There's no jack." Ava sighed.
Hayden smirked at Ava then she literally lifted the front of the car up.
"Grab the spare."
Ava chuckled and went back around to grab the spare tire. Ava came back and Hayden groaned when she saw the look on her face. "No spare?" Hayden asked in disbelief.
"No spare." Ava said.
Hayden lowered the car back to the ground.
"I know. Worst date ever." Ava sighed as she came to stand in front of Hayden.
"We've had worse." Hayden teased. "Remember the double date."
"What about New Year's?" Ava asked.
"Christmas with your parents." Hayden reminded.
"That time your sister..."
"Please don't say it." Hayden begged and they both laughed.
"Actually, this could be our best date yet." Ava said.
Ava stepped closer to Hayden and they started kissing. Ava grabbed Hayden's legs and the brunette jumped up and sat on top of the bonnet of the car and Ava stood in between her legs.
They both pulled back and looked up at the sky but noticed a strange green in the sky.
"It must be the Northern Lights." Hayden said.
They heard and saw a car approaching not far from them.
"Hmm. Maybe they've got a spare." Hayden said and jumped off the car.
Both girls waved their hands to get the drivers attention. They were both confused when the car rolled by them but didn't stop even though it was going slow, then the car bumped into the fence.
Ava walked slowly towards the car and saw that there was nobody in the front two seats. She opened the door and leaned inside and then noticed the other door wasn't there, but the engine was still running.
Ava saw the something in the mirror and when she looked closer she saw it was a kid and he jumped out the car.
"Oh, hey!" Ava shouted.
The kid tried to run but Hayden gently grabbed his arms.
"Don't let them take me!" The boy stuttered. "Don't let them take me too."
Ava and Hayden took the young boy whose name was Alex to the Sheriff's station and explained to Stilinski what happened and he called Scott and Stiles down to the station.

Malia was trying to get her yearbook photo taken but Stiles kept interrupting.
"You ruined it." Malia groaned after like the tenth time.
"Why would I want to ruin your yearbook photo?" Stiles asked as they went over to where Scott and Lydia were sat.
"Maybe because you haven't signed up for your own photo yet." Malia said.
"Yes, I did." Stiles said and pulled a sheet of paper from his pocket. He opened it and showed it Malia but then frowned.
"It's blank." Malia said.
"Uh..." Stiles said confused.
"Or maybe you're sublimating the stress of graduating by avoiding key milestones." Scott said.
The other three looked at Scott disbelievingly.
"Psych paper." Scott explained.
"Oh." Lydia said.
"Hey, the deputy searched the car. No slugs, no exit hole." Stiles said. "And the address Alex gave my dad, it's an abandoned house. Come on! Missing parents, suspicious guy on horseback, magic bullet. Who's comin' with?"
"I've got to retake my photos." Malia told him.
"Yeah, not interested." Lydia said dismissively.
"I cannot miss anymore classes." Scott said when Stiles turned to him.
"Scott. Scott." Stiles sighed.
"I missed 38 last semester." Scott said. "And Lydia's mom is the only reason I'm still in school. I can go after school."
"You know what? Forget it." Stiles told them. "I'll take Ava."
Stiles turned his head and spotted Ava and pinched his nose in exasperation. The others turned to see what he was looking at, and they saw Ava and Hayden kissing on a bench, Hayden straddling Ava's legs.
"Yeah, I'm not taking Ava." Stiles said.

Ava and Hayden finished their little make out session and met up with Mason and Corey to go to class.
"Schrödinger's cat." The new physics teacher said as he finished his drawing on the chalk board and turned to face the class.
"Ah, I can see I impressed you all with my artistic abilities." He said as he saw all the eyes looking at him with awe.
Hayden chuckled next to Ava, and Ava turned to look at her and scoffed. Ava turned to Mason who was on her other side with a look of disbelief and then noticed Corey was mirroring Hayden's expression. Mason turned to look at his boyfriend and then looked back at Ava and rolled his eyes.
"Schrödinger puts his cat in a box with poisonous food. Now, until he opens that box, the cat is, in theory, both alive and dead. But when opens it, it's withers hello mittens or goodbye socks." Mr Douglas said with a charming smile.
Hayden started giggling and Ava just bit her tongue in annoyance.
"Putting aside the potential animal abuse here, what does it have to do with physics?" Mr Douglas asked.
Many girls eagerly put their hands in the air, including Hayden.
"Yes, Hayden."
"It illustrates the concept of quantum superposition." Hayden said. "Light is both a particle and wave until it's observed."
"Yes." Mr Douglas chuckled. "Excellent answer, very impressive. Does observing something change its behaviour? Or alter its outcome? That's the question of today's lab on page 117. Break into groups of four."
Mason and Corey moved to stand in front of Ava and Hayden at their desk.
"Have any of you noticed that phones can't geolocate today?" Mason asked them.
Corey got his phone out to have a look and Ava saw the compass on Mason's phone.
"Looks like it works." She said.
"Yeah, but that's not North." Mason explained. "That is." He said pointing behind him.
"Mine is doing it too." Corey said.
"Mr Douglas has a compass." Mason said after thinking for a minute and looking at the cupboard by their desk.
Corey smirked at Mason then he touched Hayden's text book and turned invisible. The other three watched as the cupboard door opened seemingly on its own then closed, Corey's had appeared back on Hayden's book as he became visible again and when he lifted his hand he revealed the compass.
"What are you gonna do with it?" Hayden asked Mason.
"Follow it." Mason told them.
"Seriously?" Hayden asked.
"Where do you think it goes?" Corey asked.
"I have no idea. But we won't find out till we open the box." Mason said.
Corey got a confused look on his face and the two girls looked at him with disbelief.
"Schrödinger's cat?" Hayden reminded him.
"I... I still don't get it." Corey said.
Ava and Mason were following the compasses directions after school and they came to what appeared to be an abandoned house, they came through the door and when they took a few steps in, Scott appeared and they all jumped and gasped loudly when they saw each other.
"What, what are you doing here?" Ava asked casually.
"This is Alex's house. What are you doing here?" Scott asked them.
"This is where the compass led us." Ava explained.
"What compass?" Scott asked.
Mason held the compass up for Scott to see.
"Why is it doing that?" Scott asked when he saw the compass's dial spinning.
"I have no idea." Mason said.
"They're all doing it." Ava explained when she pulled her phone out to show Scott her compass.
The glass of the compass in Mason's hand suddenly shattered and there was a loud noise upstairs.
"What? What happened?" Scott asked when they got to Stiles who was upstairs.
"He was here." Stiles said frantically. "He shot at me. It was one of the guys you saw in Alex's memory."
"The guy who took his parents?" Mason asked.
"No, no, no. They weren't just taken." Stiles said. "They were, they were made to disappear. That's why there's no furniture, that's why they weren't in any of the photos. They were erased."
Stiles was panting heavily then he pushed the door behind him open, Ava and Mason followed Scott and Stiles inside and they were staring at an empty room.
•••
"Hey, guys. Wait up." Mason called as he ran up to Ava and Hayden who just had lacrosse and soccer practice. "I fixed it." Mason told them and showed them the compass that he'd sellotaped terribly.
"Uh, perfect!" Ava exclaimed. "Looks brand new."
"He's going to notice." Hayden chuckled.
"Nah, he'll never notice." Mason said. "We'll just put the compass back and figure out a way to help Scott."
"Or just put the compass back." Hayden suggested.
"We can't leave it all to Scott." Ava told her girlfriend.
"Why not?" Hayden asked. "He's the Alpha."
"Not for long." Ava said nervously.
"Who's gonna take his place?" Hayden chuckled then she looked at Ava with realisation.
"You don't think I could be the Alpha?" Ava asked.
"No, no, I wasn't saying that." Hayden sighed. "It's just, magnetic anomalies and guys on horseback stealing people?"
"We can't just stay out of it." Ava told her.
"What's gonna happen when Scott graduates?" Hayden stuttered. "When there's no one here to figure things out?"
"I can be the... um..." Ava stammered.
"I can be the... Alpha." Ava clicked her tongue.
"She can the Alpha." Mason said surely.
"Yeah." Ava said not confident at all.
Ava suddenly picked up on a scent and she knew Hayden did too.
"What is it?" Mason asked.
"It's blood." Ava told him.
Ava took off running through the school to try and find where the blood was coming from.
"I can't find the source." Ava panted as she and Hayden met back up with Mason following Ava.
"It's like it's coming from everywhere." Hayden said.
"How is that possible?" Mason asked.
"Maybe it's coming from more than one place." Ava realised.
"In more than one piece." Hayden agreed.
"If it's in the air, could it be coming out of the vents?" Mason asked.
They all looked up at the vents above them and then Ava and Hayden led Mason outside to the boiler room.
"Stand back." Ava told them as she took a few steps back from the door, ready to ram it down.
Ava let out a sharp breath then she started running at the door, at the last second Mason actually tried to use the door handle and he pulled it open and Ava couldn't stop running in time so she crashed into all the equipment inside with a scream.
"It's open." Hayden and Mason sighed.
Ava got to her feet and the three of them looked through the boiler room, Mason holding the flashlight. They came to a door and Ava opened it and they all took a step back when they saw the dead body inside, the body flopped down to the ground, exposing the bloody mess that was the back of his head.
Ava called the Sheriff and told him about the body they found.
•••
"Mason, Mason, hey, where's Ava?" A voice was shouting frantically as the three walked through the school corridor.
Ava and Hayden were behind Mason, and then the boy came into view. Ava didn't recognise him but he clearly knew who she was.
"Ava? Okay, there you go. Ava, Hayden, perfect." He said when he saw the two girls.
The boy quickly grabbed Ava's arm to get their attention of the three younger students.
"You two, you two have to listen to me right now." The boy told the two girls. "Alex is gone, just like his parents, okay? The Ghost Riders took him, so you guys, you can't be alone. You got to stick with Scott or with me because I can see them."
Ava was genuinely confused and it must have shown on her face.
"Why the hell are you lookin' at me like that?" The boy demanded.
"Do we even know him?" Hayden whispered in Ava's ear.
"I don't even know if he goes here." Ava whispered back.
"Do you go to this school?" Mason asked him.
"What's your name?" Ava asked.
The boy just stared at them confused and then he lost focus as he started thinking. The boys eyes widened and then he quickly pushed passed Ava and ran over to Sheriff Stilinski.
"Do you think he's okay?" Mason asked.
"I don't know." Ava said.
