Bosam's point of view
The group was having a comeback, and today they were having a meeting to discuss concepts. I was in my room, listening to Rowoon tell me about his first day at the daycare, while the boys were in their living room talking to their manager about the comeback.
"And there was a big TV with music always playing!" Rowoon said, making my smile drop. "Oh? What kind?" "Like uh- the kind like... baby shark?" He said uncertainly and I smiled in relief. "Oh. They're called nursery rhymes, baby." I informed him and he grinned at me. He always seemed so eager about learning.
I opened my mouth to say something, when there was a knock on my door. Then Lee Jaehyun, their manager and an old friend of mine opened the door without waiting for an answer.
"Unca Jae!" Rowoon squealed, jumping off the bed, his little feet slapping against the gray-tiled floor as he ran into Jaehyun's arms.
"Hey little man," he said as he picked him up and smiled at me. "How are you doing Bosam?"
I smiled slightly seeing Jaehyun. He was my closest friend. When I first ran into trouble when pregnant with Rowoon... he stood by me, even though we were just coworkers. I was fired, but he helped me out. At the time he was nothing more than a PA, but he worked his way up and he kept getting me small make-up or styling gigs every time he could. He is the only male figure in Rowoon's life, and since he's such a good friend, I let him call Jaehyun uncle. Or as Rowoon says, "unca" Jae.
"I'm fine Jae," I said, standing up. "How are my boys treating ya?" He asked, propping Rowoon on his hip.
"They're nice. They love Rowoon." I said, smiling wider.
"Who doesn't?" He said rhethorically. "Anyway, I need you in the living room. We're about to discuss the looks for the comeback, so I think we should fill you in on the concept." He said, before turning around and walking off to the living room with Rowoon still in his arms.
I followed suit, and found the boys looking surprised at the image of their manager holding my child.
"So anyway, as I was saying, the comeback will consist of two title tracks. The first, Say My Name. The second, Hala Hala." He said, to which the boys reacted eagerly. They seemed very happy and excited about the songs, looking at each other with smiles and wide eyes.
"Bosam, for Say My Name, we want the boys to pop with their visuals. What do you have in mind?" He asked and I hummed thoughtfully, taking a look at the members.
"We could do that. Flashy clothes would drown out their visuals. So would colorful clothes. So I'm thinking a neutral color pallete. Browns, tans, creamy whites. Maybe fur?" I suggested, raising an eyebrow at Jaehyun, who smiled.
"Fur! That sounds interesting. We'll have to check with the choreographer, so I'll get back to you on that." He said with a smile. "And their hair? Are we good?" He asked.
"Hongjoong really rocks the long hair," I started "He has a baby mullet going on and I think it would really suit him. I'll darken up his blonde a little and.. can I give him extensions? I just want to elongate the mullet a bit. Maybe shave the sides," I said, a playful smile growing on my face as I looked from Hongjoong to Jaehyun. "Absolutely. Hongjoong would really rock a mullet." He said, grinning at the shorter boy.
"Perfect. But you know what won't do? Mingi, Yeosang, and San. You look wonderful with colorful hair guys, but it won't mix well with neutral outfits." I explained with a sigh before walking up to Mingi to examine his fading blue hair. "Can I?" I asked, reaching my head up to run my fingers through it.
"Oh- of course." He said, crouching so I could reach his hair. "Thank God. It doesn't feel too damaged. I really wish you hadn't dyed it blue though. It's the hardest to get out. We'll have to give you much darker hair. Maybe black or dark brown. You want to be a brunette?" I said, removing my hands from his scalp. He nodded curtly and smiled down at me.
"And for San... green isn't super easy either, but it's mostly faded into blonde. Have you tried dark hair yet?" I asked, looking over to San. "Oh- not since debut, no." He said. "Okay. Then let's make your hair black too. Maybe we'll add some color, but nothing too crazy." I said, then looked at Yeosang.
"And you... Yeosang, we're gonna cut this hair and dye it. You look very cute with this pink, fluffy hair, but I think a dark brown with a different cut would really make you go from just cute to very handsome. What do you think?" I said.
Yeosang smiled shyly with a soft blush. "Oh- whatever you say, noona." He said, seemingly happy about trying a more serious, handsome style.
"Okay! You should all get make-overs though. Seonghwa's undercut is really nice. I think we'll keep the style, but we'll bleach it into an icy blonde." I said, and then looked over to Jongho, Yunho, and Wooyoung, who I still hadn't decided on yet, and were looking at me expectantly.
"Wooyoung's hair is also pretty much faded out. We'll cut it, style it- maybe an undercut?" I suggested, and Wooyoung's face lit up at the idea. "Like Seonghwa's hair, right?" He said with a smile, and I nodded. "Precisely. It'll take some finessing, but I think a nice silver would look amazing on you."
"And with Yunho and Jongho, we'll make a slight change. Yunho, let's dye it black. That gorgeous black shade that looks almost blue under certain lighting would look great. And Jongho, let's brighten it up into a warm yet natural shade. Maybe auburn?" I said, looking between the two boys, who nodded obediently.
I then looked back at Jaehyun, who was smiling contently at me. "Well perfect. That settles Say My Name. For Hala Hala, your job will be easier, Bosammie. We want a dark concept to go with the song and intense choreography- something simple that's opposite to Say My Name. Instead of visuals, we wan't the performance to stand out. Oh- and the choreographer mentioned some type of hat would be great for the point choreography, but that's up to you." He said, and I nodded thoughtfully.
"Hm... intense choreo huh? I think it might be best if I design the outfits then. Tailor them to make sure they can move around easily in them. I'll make sure to add the hat." I said, and Jaehyun nodded with a sigh. "You know best... I'll scour a team to sew the outfits you design." He said, making me raise an eyebrow.
"But-" I started, but he shook his head. "We need the outfits done by the end of the week. The comeback is in a month and there's a lot to do." He said sternly before I could even ask to sew them all myself. I bit my tongue and nodded.
"Okay. That's enough for today. I'll go meet with the guys upstairs and fill them in on the plans. Once we have approval, then it's straight to work. Which means you'll probably have to do the hairdressing tomorrow," he said, looking around the room before looking at Rowoon. "You watch them and make sure they behave, little man." He said, narrowing his eyes at the toddler in his arms.
Rowoon nodded "Okay Unca Jae," he said obediently, making the older male chuckle and ruffle my son's hair. "You're a good kid." He mumbled before looking at me.
He walked over and Rowoon instively dove into my arms. I caught him, and allowed him to shift his weight into me as Jaehyun pulled back. "Well, I'm off kids. See you tomorrow," he said, and the boys all bowed and said goodbye to him.
"So," Mingi said "You know hyung?" He asked curiously. I nodded curtly. He looked at me expectantly. When I didn't elaborate, he chuckled awkwardly and made a follow up question. "How? You seem close," he said.
"We worked together before." I said dryly, to which Yunho piped up. "Oh? That's cute that Rowoon calls him- what was it?" "Unca Jae!" Rowoon piped in.
So they noticed. "Yeah. We've known each other for a long time. He's a good friend. Rowoon has known him pretty much all his life, so he calls him 'uncle,' but we're not actually related." I explained.
"Anyway, I'm gonna make lunch. Noona, do you want some? I'm making ramyeon." Wooyoung offered with a polite smile.
"Sure. Want some help?" I offered, causing his smile to grow. "Sure! Let's go." He said, before disappearing into the kitchen.
I looked around at the guys and then at Rowoon. "Do you guys think you could watch him for a second? He's well behaved, I promise," I said, looking at Hongjoong and Seonghwa. They seemed responsible. Seonghwa immidiately lit up. "Yes! We'll watch him." He said, eagerly walking over to me and offering his hands to Rowoon, who dove into his arms to be held by the older male.
I watched him carry him back to the couch and sit with my son on his lap, gently bouncing him before turning away with a sigh and going into the kitchen.
I helped Wooyoung chop up some of the vegetables and stir-fry the meat. I could hear Rowoon giggling and the guys being rowdy in the living room. There were some heavy, fast footsteps, but I could also hear the distinct sound of Rowoon's bare feet running around.
"They're really playful," Wooyoung said, breaking the silence between us. I looked over to him as he spoke. "We're all like that. We're full of energy and love to play around so... I think Rowoon will be happy here," he said with a small, hopeful smile.
I smiled back softly, appreciating the way he seemed to be trying to help me feel at home. "He already is. But thank you,"
