there seemed to have been a tornado of silk and designer fabrics that came through the rockstars apartment that morning. the closet had met the floor and didn't seem like they were going to separate any time soon, considering the blonde was laying on top of all the clothes in defeat. a groan left his lips and his friend threw another jellybean at him from his spot on the bed.
"i told you to go with the black pants and galaxy looking button down," jin said, interchanging between eating one candy and then throwing on at his friends forehead the best he could. "the yellow and orange tones would match your hair." he added.
taehyung groaned again. "that's so extra though." he didn't want to show up looking like he tried too hard, but everything he owned seemed to be fancy and too much.
"exactly." jin didn't see the problem with that. "did he even tell you where you guys were going?" the second he got that text last night he called his friend, knowing he'd need help picking an outfit the next morning. taehyung usually didn't care if he looked good, because he always did, he didn't need to try. but with jungkook, he didn't want to be that person.
the rockstar never needed to try because he was always showing up with people that already loved him. all he really wanted now was jungkook to simply like him.
"when is he coming?" jin asked, finally getting off the bed to try his turn at picking an outfit. taehyung was still laying on the ground and shrugged, "no clue, he didn't tell me."
"wow you must really like him if he doesn't tell you shit." jin said, pushing the hangars to the side to find something.
"he tells me a lot." taehyung said, defending the man and smiling at the thought. his friend just hummed and continued to look for something, pulling out a white shirt with a steep v neck neckline and four buttons keeping the bottom portion shut. "like what." jin asked, holding that shirt on his arm while he looked for a pair of black dress pants.
taehyung sat up by now, no longer laying on the floor in a fit. "secrets." he said. jin hummed again and was now focused fully on the clothes, "put this on." he handed them to the boy who saluted his friend and left for the connected bathroom.
he didn't look too long in the mirror, knowing very well his friend loved accessories and adding things so there was no point thinking this was the final product. taehyung walked back into his room and saw jin waiting, "looking good as always." the older said, "now here." he walked up to the boy and tied a patterned gucci scarf around his neck. "hot."
"thanks hyung." taehyung said, letting his friend dress him and hand him a few necklaces to add. it was the rockstars choice to add a jacket over it, knowing he usually got cold and could always take it off depending where they went. he barely got it on when his phone buzzed, coming from the handsome ravenette who was not too far away. "oh shit hurry." taehyung ran back into his bathroom and opened his cosmetics trunk, a mini version of the one he had on tour.
his friend followed quickly and the two started adding subtle makeup to the youngers face. it mainly consisted of slight lip tint and neutral shades over his eyelids to accentuate the shape of them, making them stand out.
"okay go i'll clean up." jin pushed the boy out the bathroom considering jungkook would be here soon. taehyung nodded and shoved his feet into a pair of nice shoes, the black matching his pants and the jacket.
it's a date. it has to be a date. his daughter couldn't have another birthday or something. taehyung cringed at his own thoughts, no jokes, too soon. it would always be too soon. taehyung made a mental joke to never make jokes about insensitive things. but it was totally a date.
at least, it felt like it was. especially when the knock at his door sent a wave of nerves through him, the swirls in his stomach making the boy feel like a child going on his first date. he was just an adult going on his first date now. there never really was time when he spent most of his teenage years in record shops and crowded garages, starting life too soon when being thrown into the world of fame and fortune.
it was the same way for the ravenette, who stood at the door for a while longer than he planned since he couldn't gain the courage to knock right when he arrived. he's been busy for thirteen years, the last time taking someone anywhere being in high school. jungkook hated his nervous he felt right now, but the desire to see the boy was so much greater than that.
his breath hitched in his throat when the door finally opened, the pretty boy standing there looking shy for once since all the time he's known him. jungkook cleated his throat, "hi." he said, everything he practiced on the way over had slipped from his mind.
"hi." taehyung said back with a smile. "these are for you." jungkook said, holding out a few flowers, feeling his face warm at the gesture and hoping he picked out good ones. google said to bring flowers when he looked it up, not wanting to show up empty handed. the only thing that was off was the cheesy looking roses that were at the store. jungkook liked the colorful ones more and thought they were more unique of a choice.
it must have been a good one because taehyung gushed, taking the few flowers and walking inside his apartment again, "i love them." he said, seeing how jin was spying from the hallway and jumping up and down seeing what his friend got. taehyung mouthed oh my god to him, knowing jungkook couldn't see from his spot waiting at the door.
taehyung quickly put them in some water and then met him at the door again, "thank you." he said it again, the two walking down the hallway to get to the elevators. "you're welcome baby." jungkook said, his hand on the boys back while they walked down to his car.
the younger was curious where they were going, considering it didn't take long to notice how the ravenette wasn't biggest fan of photos and getting noticed the few times it's happened to them on tour. those things occurred a lot when anyone was around the rockstar. "i hope you don't mind," jungkook started to say once they were already in the car, "i already ordered." he said.
"that's okay." taehyung said from the passenger side. he trusted the man, they've eaten together enough times that he would know what he liked and disliked. jungkook was good at remembering things like that.
they drove for not too long, even pulling up outside where the older lived. "my friend picked it up for us." jungkook said, pulling over into an open space on the side of the road and checking his phone. he barely got the text open when the male tapped on the passenger side window and grinned through the glass.
taehyung jumped at that, eyes wide staring at the boy who suddenly widened his eyes too. jungkook rolled down the window and his friend glared at him. "you fuck," he said, "you didn't tell me you were going on a date with him. how do you even know him, love the music by the way." he said to the rockstar who just awkwardly smiled and looked at the ravenette for help.
jungkook chuckled, "jimin shut up and give me the food." he said, seeing how he was holding the large brown paper bag in one arm.
"can i come."
"no."
"please."
"dude no, go away." jungkook threatened to roll up the window and jimin groaned, very dramatically, before opening the backseat door and setting the bag carefully on the seat. the car instantly smelled delicious, whatever it was made taehyungs stomach growl and he was ready to get to wherever they were going.
"so this is a date." taehyung looked over at the older with a smug smile, seeing the way his cheeks changed color. "you shut up too." jungkook said.
jimin was still hanging on the window, listening in and grinning, "if your tired of him being an asshole i'll totally take you out." he said to the blonde. taehyung giggled and smiled up at the male, "maybe i'll just have to consider that." he joked.
"bye jimin!" jungkook yelled, starting the car and getting ready to leave. his friend waved and let them go off, heading away from the curb and leaving with the food. jimin stole a few spring rolls while he waited so he was good.
"he seems nice." taehyung said once they were on the road again. jungkook glanced over and made a face before looking back at the road, "no, he's atrocious." of course he was joking, but he still glared at the road with a subtle pout on pink lips.
taehyung noticed and loosened his seatbelt, leaning over the console to kiss the males cheek. "but he's not you." he whispered, pecking his cheek again for sitting back in his seat properly. he liked the blush on jungkooks cheeks that appeared afterwards.
his hand was on the boys thigh after that, a gentle grip the entire rest of the drive. taehyung looked out the window and tried to figure out where they were going. it became obvious once the sea grape trees started lining the road and hiding the body of water and sand behind it.
once he parked, taehyung was already out of the car before it fully even stopped. jungkook chuckled at that and got out as well, making sure to grab the blanket from the backseat as well as the bag of food. taehyung was too busy already wanting to hurry down to the wooden stairs leading down to the sand, but instead settled with just bouncing on the balls of his feet as he waited for the older.
"come on you're so slow." taehyung said, taking the blanket to carry so jungkook had a free now that the younger could hold. he could already hear the waves crashing against the shore, the moon probably looking so pretty in the dark sky.
it was full enough to wash the beach in silver light, letting the boys see the way to pick a good spot on the sand. no one else was here, which was exactly what they wanted. it was also good considering no one would spot the rockstar and intrude on their night out.
"so what's on the menu." taehyung asked. he was now holding the bag with two arms, supporting the bottom, while jungkook laid out the blanket as best as he could without getting sand on it. there always seemed to be some that made it on no matter how hard he tried, so he just frowned down at it and gave up.
"guess." jungkook said, taking off his shoes to put on the corners of the blanket to keep them from flying up from the subtle breeze. taehyung did his best to peek inside without opening it fully, "surprise me." he gave up as well, handing the bag to the older while he took his shoes off too and sat down across from jungkook, crossing his legs.
there was never one thing they ordered when they ate, always getting a mix of things since neither knew how to hone in on one type. jungkook pulled out a small tin, the shape and red sauce coming out the side was too familiar for taehyung not to know what it was. "i'm going in one that." the younger said, taking it from him and pulling off the tinfoil covering to smell the pasta. the cheese on top was melted perfectly, slightly browned in some places and already making taehyungs mouth water.
jungkook already had a fork ready for him which he took with a thanks and scooped out a decent chunk of it. there was more, which came in the form of a few white cartons that had the obvious dumplings in one and noodles in the other. their meals never made sense, never going to together but always tasting so good.
"this is perfect. you are perfect. you are perfect." he said it first to the ravenette and then to the pasta he was digging in to. jungkook chuckled and took the boys fork to have some pasta too. taehyung let him have it, moving on to the dumplings and looking out to the water that did look so pretty with the moon light reflecting on it. he knew it would.
"i'm glad you're enjoying yourself." jungkook said it with a smile. he had some sauce on his lips, taehyung was quick to notice and even quicker to lean forward and taste it.
they ate up until their stomachs were full, barely anything left in the dishes they brought. taehyung had left his jacket on the blanket, probably dressing too nice for the beach. jungkook dressed nice too, a similar fashion to the younger minus the designer brands and pretty scarf. the two rolled up the bottoms on the banks, exposing ankles and hoping for the best that water wouldn't soak their pants.
"i like this one." taehyung bent down again, finding another shell in the sand that he gave to jungkook to hold. his palms were already holding so many, even starting to slip some into his pocket because taehyung was the type to find every shell pretty at this point. "i want one with a hole, like this one." he was referring to the necklace he wore.
jungkook hummed and started to help, crouching a bit and feeling the water lap at his toes and soon reach his ankles. taehyung was looking in the sand right where the water met but didn't quite touch yet. jungkook knew looking in the water had the best ones, waves washing them in and getting lost. instead of one with a hole, he found a swirly looking one. "hey tae, what about this one-"
he was interrupted by a splash of cold water spraying him. jungkooks mouth fell open and looked at the rockstar who was trying to hide his cheeky smile. "traitor!" the older shot at him, "we pinky promised not to splash each other."
"it was an accident. i take excited steps." taehyung said, leaning down as if to pick a shell and just flicking water at the older again.
jungkook gasped again and held his hand out over the water, "i will drop them." he said, holding the boys shells hostage to be lost in the sea and the odds of finding them again very slim. taehyung was giggling and came over to grab his arm, "no i'm sorry, i'm done." he was smiling, and jungkook kissed that smile.
"come on i'm cold now." he said, tugging the boy with him so they were no longer ankle-deep in the baby waves. the air brushed across their wet skin and made it feel even colder, making the two boys runs up the sand to grab their things and head back to the car.
it's like everything was a competition, who could grab their stuff faster and then who could get back to the car even faster.
it was taehyung — partly because he decided to ditch the older and not really help with the clean up. he knew he had no real chance beating jungkook in a race, so of course he'd cheat whenever he could to win something. "what's my prize." taehyung grinned once the ravenette caught up, the blanket thrown over his shoulder and the bag of trash in one arm. "you got free dinner." he said.
"give me something good." taehyung was leaning against the car, watching the man as he opened the backseat and tossed the stuff inside. he'd throw it out later. "something good?" jungkook repeated him, a little smirk playing on his lips. "what did you have in mind."
taehyung hummed, leaning his head back and feeling the heat of the olders hands on his waist already. the chance to speak was short, since jungkook closed that opportunity with his mouth against the rockstars. taehyung melted into the kiss and brought his arms up to wrap around his neck, a soft moaning leaving his throat when jungkook bit gently into his bottom lip and tugging.
he was the first to pull away, only enough to see the boys brown eyes. "let's go home baby." jungkook whispered, squeezing his waist lightly before the two got in the car, a comfortable silence falling upon them as they drove down the streets back to the city.
taehyung looked out the window, his heart feeling full and baby blush on his cheeks. tonight couldn't have gotten better, but it suddenly did — because they were going home, and taehyung loved going anywhere as long as jungkook was at his side.
