( Trigger warning — A small mention of pedophilia )

Helen is ready for y/n's sleepover. He thinks that it will be fun. He only hopes his arguing parents won't get in the way of things. Helen didnt really pity y/n because his previous friend had gone through the same. It seemed almost natural for everyones parents except his own to argue. What a shame..

Helen knocks on the door and is immediately greeted by a ball of sunshine molded into a human.

"Helen! You're here!" Y/N cheers. He holds back the urge to hug Helen, as he knows Helen does not like those. Y/N is in a cute pink apron that has chibi doodles of different types of dogs. Helen holds back the urge to laugh.

Y/N drags him inside. "Can you cook?" Y/N asks. "I don't know." Helen replies. "That's okay! Just sit down by her and watch!" Y/N cheers, going back to the counter. Loud music played and everyone was singing and dancing. D/N, Carmelo, and y/n are cooking dinner, and the mysterious girl beside him introduces herself as Felicity.

The songs ends and apparently it's Felicity's turn to play a song. It's quiet, but just as she taps a song, Helen hears a knock at the door. He opens it and is met with Jonathan. "Hey, Helen! Are you partying in there?" Jonathan asks, a chuckle at the end. "Kind of." Helen replies, leading him to the kitchen.

Once dinner is done, the three boys go to y/n's room. They wonder what to do. Suddenly, y/n grabs one of his pillows and smacks Jonathan with it. "H-Hey-"

"PILLOW FIGHT!" Y/N screams excitedly, smacking the pillow against Jonathan again. Jon grabs a pillow himself and starts hitting y/n with it. Helen smacks y/n with a pillow, and it feels nice.

Helen likes pillow fights.

After, y/n gathered lots of pillows and blankets together. He wanted to build a fort. They agreed that if they made an amazing one, that they'd sleep in it. Even if it wasn't, they'd sleep in it anyway. Y/N only has a twin-sized bed.

"Helen, isn't this so cool?" Y/N asks. Helen nods, a bit excited to enter the pillow fort as well. They crawl in together, Jon already comfortable. Y/N has a flashlight set aside. "This is where we'll eat popcorn and watch movies!" Y/N explains.

"But not now! When it's dark, we will." Y/N nods to himself. "It is dark, y/n. It's almost eleven." Jonathan says, rubbing the back of his neck. "Oh! Well, whatever! I propose we go firefly catching! I don't think Helen has ever done such a thing before!" Y/N smiles, crawling out the fort with the flashlight. He shuts off his bedroom light and turns on his lamp.

"Firefly hunting is cool! I haven't done it since I was little." Jonathan smiles. Helen goes out of the fort as well. Y/N opens his closet and pulls out two hoodies. One is pastel blue with a small duck stitched in the middle. The other was a plain light grey. "Which one do you want?" Y/N asks Helen, who points to the dull one.

"Great, because this is my favorite hoodie!" Y/N smiles, quickly throwing on his duck hoodie. The hoodie is big on Helen, as he is smaller than y/n. Helen gets a whiff of the hoodie as he puts it on. It smells of mint and lemonade. Does y/n smell like this? Helen wonders. Y/N walks out the room and comes back with one of his father's jackets. He gives it to Jonathan along with another flashlight.

"My dad says we have to be back by twelve, so let's hurry!" Y/N smiles, rushing out the room again. His head suddenly appears again. He grabs his phone and runs out.

XXX

Y/N flashes his flashlight around the forest excitedly. Helen is in the middle because he does not have one. They walk for a few minutes, leaving Helen's mind to focus on y/n's hoodie. It smelt nice. Really nice in Helen's opinion. Maybe he should hang out with y/n on cold nights more often.

"Look! There's one!" Y/N whispers excitedly, three fireflies in front of them. Y/N hands Helen his flashlight and hops up to catch one. He fails and trips, falling face first. Helen is a little worried when y/n groans and walks over. He crouches down and tilts his head to get a better look at his clumsy friend. "Are you okay?" He asks in a bored tone as he watches his friend get up. He can hear Jon giggling in the background. Y/N nods and stands up. There's a firefly right above his head. He hops up and this time, successfully catches it.

He peaks into his hands and smiles. He offers them to Helen. Helen gently grabs y/n's hands and looks inside, seeing the glowing insect as Jonathan catches one himself.

"Just imagine how cool it would be if we kept these in a jar for the night." Jonathan states, opening his hands. Y/N does the same, watching them fly away. "That would be so cool! Too bad we don't have a jar." Y/N pouts for a moment before quickly brushing it off. He grabs his flashlight again and continues forward.

They walk for a few more minutes until another firefly appears. Y/N, too excited to see anything other than the firefly, chases after it.

"Y/N! Wait!" Jonathan yells, grabbing Helen's wrist and pulling him along as they chased the childish male. Y/N jumped up, but missed, almost tripping over his own feet. Y/N is very fast. He continues to chase it, Helen becoming scared when he begins to lose sight of him.

"WHA-WOAHHH!"

FLOOSH!

Y/N has fallen over an unknown object and is now out of view. Helen runs ahead of Jonathan to the place he loses sight of y/n and has the same fate. He trips over a series of spiky vines and falls over onto the ground. He can hear y/n giggling.

"W-WOAH!"

Helen rolls over, barely dodging Jonathan. He would've surely died from suppression. Helen sits up and looks around. The grass is tall here. It reaches to their knees and trees surround the small clearing. Y/N brushes himself off before brushing a bit of dirt from Helen's face.

"You guys okay?" Y/N asks. Helen nods his head, still looking around. "Y/N! You shouldn't go running like that! It's dangerous!" Jonathan scolds. "Sorry, sorry, but look! Look at all the fireflies!" Y/N points, running around the small area. Indeed, tons of fireflies were emitting from the grass, lighting up the area.

"Helen, you should try and catch one!" Y/N smiles, dragging Helen into the field. Y/N and Jonathan watch him as he catches one in a swift movement. He cups his hands together and peaks in.

"Y/N, it isn't lighting up." Helen says. He opens his hand to reveal a dead firefly. Y/N chuckles and pats Helen on the back, gently forcing him to drop the firefly. "You crushed it, Helen. Be more gentle next time, okay?" Y/N smiles. Helen nods.

Jonathan hands Helen a firefly. Helen likes looking at them through his hand, but the way it crawls around his palm makes him cringe. The firefly is attached to his hand as he waves it around furiously. "Helen, what are you doing?" Jonathan laughs. Y/N is too occupied to see the situation.

"It won't get off. Help me." Helen explains, trying to ignore Jonathan's laughter. "Okay, okay. Hold still, Helen. Jonathan chuckles, gently grabbing Helen's wrist and plucks the firefly away. Helen sighs of relief while Jon giggles. Helen decides to stick with watching instead of catching.

He watches as y/n hops into the air, but fails to catch his firefly. He watches as y/n continues to jump until he is successful. He cheers and peeks into his hand, smiling brightly. Helen can feel a smile curl onto his own lips as he watches his friend.

Whoosh . . .

Helen slowly turns around, but nothing is there. He stares into the dark forest, trying to figure out the source of the sudden movement. Yet he finds nothing.

"Helen?"

"GAH!"

Helen jumps at his name suddenly being called. Y/N is right beside him, and he can't stop his pumping heart. Y/N's cheeks puff out and he covers his mouth, terrible and hiding his laughter.

"Why aren't you catching fireflies?" Y/N asks. Helen shuffles on his feet, about to explain when he hears a similar rustling sound. He turns around, but yet again finds nothing.

"Helen, what's the matter?" Y/N asks, but it seems as if the question was never said and Helen digs into y/n's hoodie. Y/N is shocked, and watches as Helen pulls out the flashlight and turn it on.

"Guys, what's going on?" Jonathan asks, finally noticing the situation. Y/N shrugs, watching Helen with curiosity. Helen suddenly stops and stares at a certain point in shock. The other two boys follow the light across the grassy field.

A person. . .

A tall well-built figure stood by a tree, half of its body covered by it. It stood silently, masked and unfazed by the light. Y/N's eyes almost pop from his skull. Helen is narrowing his eyes, scared and confused. Jon is in a fighting stance, ready to protect his scrawny friends.

The person makes a small movement and y/n is the first one to scream. They push and shove one another to the opposite end of the figure; where they came from. Helen and Jonathan remember the vines and successfully jump over them, but y/n has forgotten and trips.

He lets out and ear ripping shrek as he realizes his foot is stuck, grabbing the attention of his friends. He pulls and tugs, ignoring the vines stabbing into his skin. He tugs harder and faster as he sees the figure start to walk closer. Helen begins to tug on the vines aswell, but one stabs him he gasps he retreats out of shock. Y/N doesn't care as he rips the vines from their roots in order to untangle his foot.

Finally getting up, the boys begin to escape from the stranger. Their minds were blank and their hearts were racing. Their breathing like trains and eyes glossed like dolls.

Y/N cannot look back. He is too scared the stranger is trailing right behind them. He is scared when Jonathan whips his head back to check.

Jonathan slows down, beginning to take his breath back. "Guys . . . Guys! He's not following us anymore."

Y/N is the first to stop in his tracks, immediately his hair swinging harshly as he stops to look back. Indeed, there was nothing but darkness and forestry.

Helen is panting heavily, his lungs desperate for oxygen. He can not run anymore. He is too tired, and his friends can see that. The numbness in y/n's hands are beginning to go away and he can feel the pain. He looks down at his torn hands, skin and blood where they should not be. Dirt smudges made the stinging hurt worse and y/n hissed.

"Did you think you escaped?"

"AHHHHHHH!!"

The boys go in a fit of screams as they begin to run again. The figure was right beside them, and they didnt even notice until they spoke! Y/N is dragging Helen at this point, who is panting roughly.

Another one . . .

Another figure has appeared. He has a camera in his hands, and is very close to the boys. They fall to the ground in shock and y/n begins to kick his feet. Jonathan is the first to stand. He helps his friends up before running once more.

Helen is tired and hot. He is out of breath and hurts. He is tired of y/n dragging him, but he knows if he were to let go the strangers would get him. His eyes are narrowing as his mouth hangs open. He looks behind him. Just a glance. Just a smudge. Anything to see if they're following or not. Helen just wants to rest.

Yet luck doesn't seem to be on his side. As he turns back, the two figures disappear behind trees, and they are no longer visible. His eyes widen as he tries to keep up the pace with his friends. He knows that they are still following.

Yet his friends think otherwise, and come to a stop. They pant and huff, desperate to breath. It was hard in a situation like this. Not one, but two strangers were following them. What could they want? What was their goal? To kill? To kidnap? To. . .

T-TO RAPE?!

Y/N can feel his bottom lip tremble at the thought of being touched by pedophiles. He doesn't care to die, as long as he doesn't get touched inappropriately by grown men or women. He shook his head. No. He shouldn't think like this. He'd give anything in the world to not witness his friends being touched like that.

"Right! They're outnumbered! We can fight if we have to!" Y/N thought, glancing at Helen, who has finally caught his breath, but is now looking around frantically. He's biting his lip and twitching a bit. He seems so scared, but for what? They lost them.

Y/N gently grabs Helen, who jumps at the contact. He pulls Helen into his chest, shocking him. Y/N begins to gently pet his hair as Jonathan gives him a thumbs up.

"Shhh . . . It's okay, Helen. We're gonna get out of here alive. I promise." Y/N whispers, looking around. He can feel Helen's rough breath come to a stop. It soothes itself down as Helen gently grips onto y/n's hoodie. Y/N and Jon observe the area. Where are they and how can they get out? What direction is the neighborhood and what will they do if the two strangers appear again? These questions ran through their head and they had to think quickly.

Tonight was not their night.
