Tsukishima recently heard you and Kuroo talk about a diet that he was trying and ultimately wanted to give it a go yourself however only 3 weeks In and your were already complaining. Tsukishima had taken over food shopping responsibilities specifically so that this snack habit of yours wouldn't take over.
You had made up some excuse to him that he might not know exactly what needed to be stored in the fridge, or that you might need to substitute items which he knew was all lies, in the 9 years you have been dating he could read you like a book.
He knows that it was just to stuff things into the basket that you fancied for a little "cheat" and he refused to indulge you unless he didn't feel like hearing your whining. That was the only reason you were allowed to tag along.
"I think we'll need this." He glares as you stuff the mini chocolate snacks into the basket, hiding it under the healthier meal options like fruit and veg as though he didn't just watch you pick it up and put it in with his own eyes. He manages to stuff a few more of the things on the list in the basket before he spots the snacks you snuck in as he turns to give you a stern look.
He notices you don't meet his eyes, pouting and holding your hands behind your back innocently as though you were guilty of no crime. He shakes his head, pushing the cart along towards the check-out without removing any of the extra items you had added. He didn't have the heart to do that to you and make you sad although he will never admit it.
You sing happily as you open the snacks in the car, digging in almost immediately as he shakes his head again. Tsukishima tells himself that the reason he let you have your way was so that you wouldn't complain to him to go back and get exactly what you wanted.
But even he had to confess that smile you always wore so proudly could bring a genuine smile to his cold face every once in a while...

"Daddy" Tsukishima snaps his eyes open at the little girl in front of him here eyes a soft green just like her mothers his body siting up right the little girl sprawled out on the bed beside him "what was you dreaming about?" She asks a stray tear leaving his eyes "just something I wish was real sweetheart" his eyes gliding over to your picture hanging up on the wall the little vase beneath it glistening in the sun and wind.
You can be at peace now Y/N...
