P.S. I hope you like the next chapter, it was added after the publishing of this book, but I feel that it does a great deal to improve the story line. Lucky little new readers, everything will make sense.
When I got home, I took a shower and changed into my PJ's. I managed to get some homework done and studied more for the stressing exams. I was struggling to focus but I finished all the things that I needed to do. When it was around five o'clock, I went into the kitchen to make dinner. I decided on having a healthier dinner so I tossed together a garden salad, baked some salmon and cut a few slices of multigrain buns. I laid out the plates and forks and brought out the butter. When I was taking out some lemonade from the fridge, the doorbell rang. I walked to the door and opened it. "Mmm it smells good Bec." My mother was smiling. "Thanks mom." They walked in and placed their things in the closet. "I'm going to take a shower okay? You and your mother start eating." I nodded at my dad and he walked up the stairs. "I'm guessing you had a shower there?" My mother smiled and nodded. "Take a seat mom; I'll get your food." I grabbed her plate and but a portion of the salad on the plate and put a piece of salmon by the salad. When I placed the dish in front of her, she was already munching on the bread. She tried my salmon and said "This is really good Becca." I smiled. "I learned it from the best." We talked a little about school then my father walked down the stairs and served himself some food. "So tell me, woman to woman, are there any guys in your life recently? Jules maybe?" My mom asked and I blushed. "Oh my god mom, Jules and I have been friends for a really long time now and you know it. He is practically a brother." She didn't seem convinced. "Okay well there is this one guy... he's new to the school." My mom motioned for me to continue and my dad sat down and listened. "His name is Silas and he's... I don't really know." My mother looked interested and smiled even wider. "When do I get to meet this Silas boy?" "Soon I guess." I said, answering my mother's question. "I actually met his father today." Both my parents looked shocked. "No not formally, I mean I saw him at the hospital today. He was helping around because his wife is a doctor there. He's part of the FBI." "What's her name?" my mom asked. "Silas's mom?" "Yeah" "Well his last name is Michelson so I'm guessing Dr. Michelson?" My mother's eyes lit up. "She's a neurologist! I've met her a couple of times, talking about my conditions and all. She seems really young, way too young to have a son who's your age!" I nodded in agreement. "His father looks really young too, they're probably older though." My mother and I started to talk a little more about Silas but I left out the fact that we kissed. Then my father spoke up. "You know, my mother, when I was only a few months old, she had a lover who's surname was Michelson. She was an adventurous and beautiful young woman. Of course, they never got married because she was already married to my father. See, then, the marriages were arranged. She was always rebellious against the marriage but was too obeying to leave it. She never told me much about him, not even the first name of the Michelson character, but she always described him as charming and handsome. Black hair, tall and it almost made me laugh when she swooned over how 'gorgeous' he was." My father laughed, quoting the word "gorgeous" with his fingers. Sounds like Silas. I thought to myself jokingly. "She was in love with him, but because of her marriage, she couldn't do anything about that love. I guess what I'm saying is, go for it!" He laughed. "Oh my god dad." I said, embarrassed. It was not like my father to say that, but he did, and I couldn't help but laugh. "If Grandma Isabelle were still around, I'd for sure ask her about him. May she rest in peace." We then continued with our meal. When I finished cleaning the dishes with my father, I went up to my room and dialed Silas's phone number.
