*A/N: What's up, folks?! I'm super excited for this chapter! I really enjoyed writing this chapter, y'all! Just a warning, there is a moment of girl-on-girl action in here. If you don't feel comfortable, don't read it. Skip over that part if you really have to.
Anyway, tell me your thoughts on the story so far. Who is your favorite roommate? Do you like Jana and Jessica's relationship? What's something you'd like to see going forward? Or what could be improved?
If you didn't figure it out already, I'll go ahead and tell ya. All the ladies now represent one of the seven deadly sins! Oh yeah! These ladies aren't meant to be perfect even though one thinks she is!
Jana represents sloth sin. If you haven't seen it, she's pretty lazy and doesn't like commitment much. Can Jess help change that?
Speaking of Jess, she represents wrath. She's always upset about something and willing to fight anyone if they cross her path. Maybe Jana or Rena could help her relax a little. What do you think?
Rena represents gluttony. She overeats no matter how she's feeling. How do you think she can help this? Maybe Tiffany's insults can help her cut down on the food intake (not saying she should keep doing it, but it's not like she'll stop anytime soon).
Tiffany represents pride. She feels herself a little too much and puts others down because she feels like she has everything. But do you think Carmon or Jess will throw her off her pedestal?
And last but not least, Carmon represents lust if you can't tell already. She's not the kind of lady to settle down and be with someone unless it's with that dangerous Heath. She likes to feel good in the moment whether it's with sex or going out drinking. She's blinded by it with Heath. Do you think that the rest of the ladies or Raina could get her out of this mindset!
Tell me your thoughts because I'd really like to know.
Anyway! Comment, vote, and share! All that good jazz!
Alright, you may continue. 🤫💜

"Jaaaayyyyyy!" Jessica called loudly in my ear attempting to get Jana's attention. Sadly, she almost busted my ear drums. It was the afternoon and four of us were just hanging out on the couch.
"Hun, I'm in the kitchen. I'm right here. What's going on?" Jana said as her green eyes shined in the bright light from the small kitchen. Her face revealed a tense look as Jessica called for her.
It's been a whole week and Jessica had Jana at her every beck and call. It was like a miracle. Everything Jessica asked for, Jana provided. It was like a whole new Jana came in through the door after she found Jessica. She hasn't been to any DJ gigs, no clubs or parties, and has followed through with each promise that she told Jessica.
I was surprised. What did Jessica do to get Jana like that? I may need tips.
"Did you wash the clothes? I need work clothes for tomorrow," Jessica snapped as she looked down at her cellphone.
"Yes, babe. I sure did," Jana answered as my eyes watched Jana chop up something in the kitchen. My guess was that it was celery or something. She was cooking a healthy dinner for all of us per Jessica's request. She wasn't usually in the kitchen so it was definitely shocking, but none of the other girls thought the same as I did. Jana ate tons of vegetables and fruits. That's how she stayed so slim.
To be honest, I wish she would have made a nice baked potato with shredded chicken. That's one thing I knew she wasn't making though.
"What about the-"
"Yes, love. I scrubbed the bathroom floors, cleaned your shoes, took out the trash, and made you a good and healthy lunch for work," Jana said as she walked from the kitchen and planted her small lips on Jessica's head. Jessica's face was glowing as a smile grew across her face. She was so in love. It was sweet....
But I wish I had the same thing.
Maybe not with a woman, but a man that really wants to be with me. That wants to love me and cater to me. A man that wants my loving as well. A man that was worth my loving and my time.
"Jess, what did you do to Jana? I need to know," I asked as my eyes watched Jana walk back into the kitchen. Maybe Keenan could be that guy for me. He could change his ways, take me seriously, possibly be like Jana.
What the hell am I talking about? That ain't ever happening.
"It's all about being serious about what you're saying, Rena. You have to mean what you say. That's why I left," Jessica said as she flipped her dark brown hair off her shoulder.
She's one to talk. It took her years to run away with Leo only to come right back to Jana. Talk about meaning what you say.
Sadly, I've threated Keenan with leaving. He begs for me not to leave and we stay doing intimate things. Either that or, when I leave, he somehow makes his way back into my life. There's no leaving him alone.
"Can we not talk about your weird ass relationship please? We're trying to figure out what to do," Tiffany said as she rolled her blue eyes and flipped through something on her phone. She had a nasty attitude for some odd reason. She sat back against the couch and beside Carmon.
"Do you not see Jana in there cooking for all of us?" Jess pointed out as my eyes landed on a working Jana in the kitchen. Her hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail, showing off a focused expression on her face, enhancing the freckles on her face, and revealing her beautiful green eyes. Even though she was slim, Jana was still good looking. She gave off a stud type look when her hair was pulled back.
Now I see why Jessica wanted to date her.
"I thought she was making our lunches," Carmon finally said without looking up from her phone.
"You know what? That's a better idea. Maybe it'll make your days at work better. Eating all of that fast food and such brings your mood down. It also makes you gain weight, so I'll do that and we can do something else tonight," Jana said as she put something in the oven.
"Yeah, Rena. It makes you gain weight," Tiffany agreed as she looked up at me with an eyebrow raised.
So I'm not in the best shape. Big whoop.
When you're constantly on the go, you need a pick-me-up. Or when you're bored or upset...or happy...or you just want to eat.
"What are we going to do?" Jessica asked as she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"I say we all go to the club," Carmon suggested with a slight smirk on her painted face. She always wore makeup and she looked so beautiful. Even without it, she looked gorgeous.
"I'm not going," I confirmed.
One thing I will not do again is go to a club. They just weren't my thing. Clubs are basically like cans of Vienna sausages. You get in where you fit in. My body isn't exactly able to fit in anywhere when we go to clubs.
A few men gave me shit when we went to the club last. I felt uncomfortable. Plus, there's tons of sweaty ass drunk people walking around ready to make their move on random strangers. That wasn't a secure environment for me.
"Oh, come on! Rena, you have to. Just because a couple of guys talked about your weight doesn't mean you can't ever go to a club again. They were just pissed because you standing in their way. They were trying to get to the bar. It's girls' night and you're a girl. So come on," Jessica pleaded as her dark brown eyes rose up to me.
"Maybe she can watch Raina while the rest of us go," Tiffany said with no emotion in her voice. She wasn't wrong. I would have rather done that. It's a better plan.
"No, we're not leaving her here. Rena, we all have to go and do something we are uncomfortable with. Please just go with us?" Carmon pleaded as she gave me her puppy dog eyes. There had to be some loose end somewhere in this situation. I hate when Carmon did the puppy dog eyes. They always got to me.
That was it. Raina...
"Well, who would watch Raina? She can't be by herself, she can't go with Brian because he's gone, and she can't be trusted with anyone else," I noted. Brian had to be in a different state unexpectedly, so we were stick with Raina. Honestly, it didn't bother me any. I didn't mind staying home with her.
"Rena, you need to spend more time with some adults. You can't keep watching kids all of your life. We'll go somewhere more comfortable for you. My friend's doing an adult throwback skate night. Let's do that," Jana suggested. That sounded better, but no one would be with Raina again. Who was going to watch her?
"Oh, that's a great idea! We can have Nikki watch Raina since she's not doing anything. Now you have no reason to stay here, Rena," Carmon smiled.
First off, who the hell was Nikki? Second, why was she trying to hand off my sweet goddaughter to some random stranger?
"I don't feel comfortable with Raina being with someone I don't know. I barely trust her with you all," I said as I folded my arms and furrowed my eyebrows. Honestly, going out somewhere was just not on my to-do list.
"Oh my gosh, Rena! That's not your fucking child! Nikki is Carmon's co-worker and Raina is Carmon's child, which means you have no say over who Raina goes to! She can have Raina go off with the boogie monster if she wanted to! Actually, if you are thinking of sending Raina with the boogie monster, I have a friend-"
"What Tiffany is trying to say is that Raina is not your responsibility. You don't need to be worried about her. Get up, go out, and have fun. You're still young. We're even going skating. You love skating," Jessica persuaded.
She wasn't wrong, but it's not something I'm used to doing. It's been years since I went to the skating rink. As a child, I loved skating around the rink and in our neighborhood. Even though I didn't want to go, there was no one or nothing that would save me from this. My brother and family didn't need anything. Keenan hasn't said anything to me lately. No one else needed me to babysit. All my homework was done.
Did I really have a choice?
"Fine..." my lips slipped lowly. All of the girls clapped and smiled when I agreed to go to this throwback skate night.
A feeling of disagreement seeped through my body. Did I make the wrong decision? I mean, it has been a while since I've went somewhere with them. A sense of guilt came over me due to me refusing to go with them time and time again.
Well, time to get back on the skating rink.
****
Rock Your body by Justin Timberlake. An early 2000s classic that played in many skating centers back in the day. We knew no meanings behind the words, but we still sang them as if we were the artists. Apparently, it was part of tonight's playlist at this skating rink as well. They were playing music from when we were in elementary school. Early 2000s music.
Jana's friend was the DJ for the night and he had everyone so hype. Everyone was dancing and skating on the floor. Many were shuffling and dancing to the blaring music while talking to the people they came with. The ladies I came with had already joined the other skaters.
Tiffany was flying through the crowd with her phone in her hand. She was recording herself as her beautiful locks blew through the wind. Her pink shirt pressed against her small stature and so did her black leggings. The lip gloss she had on shined by the light of the phone.
Jana and Jessica were trucking around the rink. As the wheels on their skates flowed and their bodies moved with the rhythm of the music, their arms crossed around each other. They were matching with loose, plain, black cotton t-shirts and skinny jeans.
Carmon was also a solo skater, but she could have fooled others. She was being friendly with many other people on the floor. As always, plenty of eyes were on her. Mostly from men and they looked as if they wanted a taste of Carmon. They had to be looking at her ass because her jean shorts stopped at the tops of her thighs and barely covered her round rump. She had on a thin white blouse that had a V-neck. It revealed her pink lace bra and her goodies were showing a bit. The shirt blew in the wind with her shoulder-length black hair. Her face was decorated with makeup, but her pink lips curled into a genuine smile once she came behind Tiffany and did a quick cameo in her video.
Then, there was me. My ass stood in the outside of the rink like I was sitting on the sidelines like a hockey game. My outfit consisted of skinny jeans and a college-themed t-shirt. Watching the girls have a great time was enough for me. I was enjoying myself while watching them. Had I gotten out there or even move from my spot, someone would have tried to talk to me. Carmon and Jana knew many people. I didn't want any attention on me and me being friends with them brought a little attention to the rest of us.
My eyes watched as Carmon was grinding on a random man in the middle of the rink. Her hips swirled around his shaft as she leaned over and bounced to the rhythm of the music. A bite came to her pink bottom lip as she continued grinding to the music.
Why was I observing her so hard? I had other friends here.
Jana and Jessica were still skating and dancing side-by-side. Jessica's hair was blowing in the wind and a comforting smirk fell across her face as she looked into Jana's green eyes. They shared a quick kiss and just focused on each other.
I realized that my cousin was not as skinny as I thought she was. She was gaining some weight in the right places. Her chest was growing a bit, her thighs were a bit thicker, and she was gaining weight in her ass. Jana was enjoying all of those assets seeing that her hand moved from the small of her back to her ass.
Tiffany was leaned against the wall and talking to some random man. The conversation must have been interesting since Tiffany was laughing and a legitimate smile fell across her face. She tucked part of her hair behind her ear and glared at this man with lust in her eyes. Biting her small bottom lip, she typed something in his phone and gave it back to him.
She was just like her sister in so many ways. She had the same charm that Carmon had, but she refuses to accept that. The brown-haired guy didn't look too bad. He was about six foot and was a bit muscular. Similar to that Bryce guy she was supposedly talking to. He took her hand and helped her back onto the rink. They started skating together after their little moment.
These women had so much going on in their lives. They all loved being around people and doing things outside of the house. They all were unique and stood out.
I, on the other hand, really didn't stand out like them. My mantra was to mind the business that kept me safe. Even though it was hard to do with four roommates and a small nosey child, I managed. My personality was pretty quiet. My personality was introverted. I wasn't a party person, an extra-curricular person, an attention-getter, nor a spicy person. There wasn't really anything special about me.
Why didn't I want to talk to people or get out much? I don't really know. Maybe it was the fear of offending someone or saying something crazy. Being socially awkward, I guess.
"RENA! What are you still doing here?! We've all been in the rink for over an hour. Why are you not out here with us? You said you'd skate with us," Carmon called as she interrupted my thoughts. My body shook and my heart jumped at her call.
I explained with "Correction. I said I would come with you all. I never said I would skate."
"First of all, we can make that happen with you coming," Carmon winked.
What a pervert. My lips fell flatlined and my face fell. This was not getting me out on that rink.
"Fine, I'll stop. You don't have your skates on for nothing. Get your sexy ass out here," Carmon said as she grabbed my wrist and stood by me.
"Carmon, I just don't feel like it. I'm having my fun watching you all," I whined. That was not going to make her go away and I should have known that.
"Rena, if you don't get your ass out here and skate for at least one song, I'll fucking kiss you," Carmon threatened with a raised eyebrow and a smile. I laughed at the thought.
"Oh please. You wouldn't dare," I smiled.
"Oh, you're daring me to do so? Rena, let me tell you something. I will pull your lips into mine in front of all of these people and won't give two flying fucks. You either get your ass out on that rink or we're connecting lips right now," Carmon pointed as her dark brown eyes raised to look at me.
My mind was rethinking my decision after that. Carmon was one person that would go through with her sensual thoughts. She was about her word. Something told me that she's been wanting to sleep with some of us, but I didn't want to believe it. If she did that, there would be many people taking pictures and staring at us.
Oh, hell no!
My eyes rolled to the back of my head and my feet stepped onto the rink. As the wheels of my skates turned, I focused on my balance. Here I was looking like a damn fool on a skating rink at 20 years old. As I was jerking and jumping at every point I felt like my body was about to fall, my heart was just running mad. My heartbeat grew so fast that it could start up a car.
Suddenly, I felt a pair of soft hands come around my hands and pulled me up straight. It was Carmon with her soft laughter and bright smile.
"Relax, Rena. You're with your friends. Don't even pay attention to everyone else," Carmon softly said as she skated backwards. She held both of my hands into hers as my foot pushed me off to go a little faster. As my body grew to get the swing of things, many guys were eyeing us. This wasn't what I wanted. I felt uncomfortable. We were gaining attention from people and it was driving me mad.
"Carmon, we have to stop. People are watching and giving us dirty looks," I mentioned as my eyes watched many others giving glares of disgust and dissatisfaction. They must have been thinking the wrong things. We were just two friends skating together. I forgot that we were in the South.
Carmon pulled me over towards the wall and said, "Then let's give them what they've been waiting for."
Suddenly, Carmon's thick pink lips connected with mine out of the blue. My eyes widened and my body froze. My mind didn't know what to think. I should have pushed her off me, but she eventually wrapped her arms around me and my tongue intertwined with hers.
My eyes closed and I fell into the kiss. It was soft and sweet. It was like kissing a sexy bachelor that was ready to get me in bed. Her lips and tongue were so soft and relaxed. My body relaxed as her lips separated from mine. My eyes were still closed because I didn't want to see all the people that were watching us.
I didn't do anything, did I? Wasn't that what she was supposed to do if I didn't skate?
"WHAT THE HELL?!" my ears heard a shouting Tiffany and my eyes turned towards her. She, Jana, and Jessica were standing over where I was last with their mouths wide open. Their eyes were about to come out of their heads.
Could I finally say that I kissed a girl...
And liked it? Because I really did.
