“Nick!” a loud yell erupted from downstairs.

Nick turned towards Demi, pulling her with him as he left out of the bathroom, out of his room, and stopped at the top of the staircase. They stood motionless, wondering how they both should react.

“Um, hi?” Demi asked, not sure what else to do.

“Nick, Demi, what the fuck are we going to do?” the feminine voice asked. “We’re getting married today and to the wrong people.”

Nick sighed, shoving his face in his hands. “I have no clue, Selena.”

“Well, you better get a fucking clue soon or I’m kicking your ass,” Selena snapped.

“Selena, calm down,” her boyfriend hushed her, grabbing her hand.

Rolling her eyes, Selena pulled her hand back. “Shut up, Joe,” she huffed.

“Look, Sel,” Nick began, “I’ve been thinking since day one what I would do, so I don’t need you or anybody else reminding how much I’ve messed up.”

“Well, maybe if you weren’t a liar, we wouldn’t be in this mess,” she hissed at him in her defense. She took a step towards him, straightening her posture.

“Well, maybe if you weren’t a-” he stopped himself as he saw fury in her eyes.

Selena stepped closer to him, in his face now. “Say it; I dare you.” She squinted her eyes at him.

Smiling in victory, Nick stood his ground. “I don’t think I need to.”

“Guys,” Demi cut in.

“No, I dare you,” Selena snapped.

“Don’t need to,” Nick smiled.

Selena yelled at Nick as he yelled back at her. “Guys!” Demi screamed, walking over to the both of them. She placed her hands on their shoulders and yanked them apart. “If you two don’t act like grown adults, I swear that I’m going to kick both of your asses and still make you two marry each other.”

Selena laughed without humor. “Yeah, good luck with that.”

“Oh, you’re cool,” Nick muttered, loud enough for her to hear.

Selena smiled cockily, pushing him. “I know I am, thanks.”

“I swear, Selena-”

“Hey! I told you two to grow up.” Demi pushed her petite body in between both of them. “Now, killing each other won’t solve anything.” She switched her view from one to the other. “I know you’re both stressed, but please, shut the fuck up or I’m gonna kill you guys myself.”

Selena looked from Nick to Demi to back at Nick. She scoffed, walking back, “I’m watching you, Jonas.”

“I’m watching you, too, Gomez,” he hissed.

Now,” Demi ran her hands through her hands, thinking, “how can we get your mother to drop this wedding thing?”

“Well-” Nick started.

“No,” Demi quickly cut him off, “enough with you. You got us in this mess.” She turned her back to him and motioned Joe to speak.

“Oh, me,” Joe fumbled. “Um, I know my mom likes sweet talk.”

“How is that even supposed to solve anything?” Selena’s snarky remark sent Demi through the roof.

“Look, Gomez, we don’t need your shit!”

“Look, Lovato, I don’t give a fuck!”

Through the yelling and fighting, Joe and Nick ran forward and grabbed their girls by their waist. The girls’ arms were flailing at each other until they heard a voice on the other side of the front door.

“Joe! Nick!” the voice sang. Immediately, both of the boys put the girls on the floor, and they all straightened their hair and clothing out. Demi and Selena continued to say bitchy remarks to each other. Obviously, the stress was getting to both of them.

Walking to the door and opening it, Nick watched as his mother walked cheerily through the front door. “Ah, Nicholas!” she exclaimed, embracing him.

“Mom,” he sang awkwardly, wrapping his arms around her until she pulled away and pecked his cheek.

“Joe!” She repeated the procedure she did with Nick, walking forward and embracing her second son. Once their mother pulled away, she noticed both Selena and Demi staring at her, their uncomfortable smiles showing. “Ladies!” she screeched. “Why are you two here? 24 hours before the wedding you’re supposed go without seeing your soon-to-be husbands!” Through her scolding, she walked forward and snatched up their hands. “Let’s leave so we can scavenge up as much luck as we can before this wedding.” Mrs. Jonas walked to the front door as quickly as she could, pushing the two girls out of the door before her. Right before she walked out of the house’s front door, Mrs. Jonas lightly threw back her head, yelling out, “Babies, your men will be here shortly. Start getting ready, okay?”

Nick and Joe watched as the door slammed closed. A few short seconds later, they both turned their heads to look at one another.

“Get ready,” Joe said coldly.

Nick observed as his older brother turned quickly, walking to the kitchen.

---

“Are you nervous, Demi?” Selena sighed, fixing the bottom on her white, pearl-encrusted wedding dress. After a couple of seconds, she stood upright, staring into the full-body length mirror in front of her.

Playing with the bottom of her dusty blonde hair, Demi tilted her head slightly, sighing. “Yes,” she answered shyly. She chewed her bottom lip, anxious of the near future.

Selena sighed, moving in front of Demi and conjuring up a smile. She lightly placed her hands on her friend’s shoulders. “Look, I know we haven’t gotten along very well for many reasons, and I apologize for that.”

Demi shrugged, “Okay.” Her cold response caused Selena to sigh once again.

“Demi, I was with Nick for years. I know that he doesn’t think things through, but maybe this happened for a reason. You love him.” Selena paused for a few seconds, removing her hands for Demi’s shoulders. She smiled. “I love Joe. Things will work out. Nick can handle this. He’s a smart man, even if he doesn’t seem so at the moment.” Laughing slightly, Selena watched as a small smile appeared on Demi’s lips.

“I know something will work out. I’ll be with Nick, and you’ll be with Joe.” Demi kept the small grin playing on her lips. She believed her words for just a moment. Something about them seemed right.

They were right.

Looking at each other and laughing again, Selena walked forward a few steps, giving Demi a small hug. “I’m going to love being your sister-in-law.”

Demi giggled, “I’ve always wanted a sister.”

They both laughed whole-heartedly. Pulling away, a light clearing-of-the-throat caused them turn around to the source.

“Joe wants to see you, Sel,” a light, husky whisper filled the quiet, breezy room. He leaned against the door frame, his hands resting shakily in his pockets.

Selena turned back to Demi, smiling to give her hope. “Good luck,” she whispered. “We’ll both need it.”

Demi nodded at her, putting on the fake smile once again. Walking out the room as quickly as she could with her heavy dress, Selena strolled past Nick, patting his back on her way out. Nick’s eyes fell rapidly to the ground, avoiding any sort of eye contact with Demi.

The room was still.

Quiet.

The air was heavy. It was almost suffocating them both.

Demi crossed her arms across her chest, getting poked by the beads on her dress. Her eyes were focused on his shoes, watching as the black leather shining in the light.

Conjuring up a tiny bit of courage, Nick picked himself off the door frame, walking forward slowly with his hands still tucked into his pockets.

“Dems,” he started.

Demi looked up, a glimmer of hope sparkling in her eyes. She sighed, dropping her hands in a sudden defeat. “Nick-”

“Demi, listen,” he interrupted. He walked up to her quickly, placing his hands on the side of her torso, sliding them down to her hips as he felt every single curve. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I really am. I only pray that God will send me some advice to this, but I really don’t deserve it. I got us into this mess; I’m so sorry.” He let his eyes stare into her brown orbs, letting them drop at the last moment.

“Nick, stop saying sorry. I forgave you a long time ago. I was just waiting for you to come to your senses.” She watched as his eyes flickered back to hers. She giggled, bringing a smile to his face. Placing her hands on his cheeks, Demi smiled as she rested her forehead against Nick’s.

His hot breath crashed against hers as Demi rubbed her hands lightly on his face. She could feel his stubble tickling her palms, only causing her to want him more than before.

“You look beautiful,” Nick whispered, smiling. He let his eyes fall once more to examine her dress.

His hands scratched lightly at the beads on her hips. Demi’s corset-styled dress drove Nick crazy. His fingers inched towards the frill and lace of her train. When he felt his emotions become overwhelming, his hands stopped on her ass, still playing with the lace of her large, heavy dress.

Nick’s head tilted downwards, his lips landing on Demi’s neck. He pecked her lightly, each kiss developing into something a little longer every time.

Demi’s light moan filled his ears, causing his hands to move to the zipper of her dress. The tips of his fingers played with it, begging her to let him pull it.

“Stop,” Demi breathed, gaining enough strength to tear her body away from him. Her chest heaved as she tried to control herself. Her eyes slowly met his. “We have to get married.” She paused, closing her eyes. “To other people.”

Nick opened his mouth to respond, immediately getting interrupted by his oldest brother.

“Nick,” Kevin started, his voice soft, “it’s time.”

Sighing in response, Nick turned his head quickly back to Demi, pecking her lips. “If this is the last time I get to do this, I just want you to know that I’ll love you more than I ever loved Selena.” Pecking her lips once more, Nick headed out of the bright, white room and to his place at the end of the aisle, thinking of a way to stop his wedding.

---

The large wooden doors opened, revealing a beautiful blonde haired beauty holding a small bouquet of red roses. A rumble filled the large church as families and friends of both the bride and the groom stood up. A melody of a familiar song filled everyone’s ears.

And she set off down the long aisle, her heart racing. She felt their eyes on her. She knew with everything in her that this wasn’t what should have been happening.

Her eyes met his, guilt flowing over her body. She saw him conjure up a tiny, sympathetic smile. He was staying strong for her, even though she knew none of this was fair to him either. She mouthed a simple ‘I’m sorry’ to him as she approached him. Her hand met his as he helped her onto the small step.

The priest began speaking.

---

“I’m sorry,” he whispered to the girl across from him. His curls bounced as he let his eyes drop to observe the beauty’s dress. Her mermaid corset went slightly above her knees and the frills attached puffed slightly at the bottom. Her heels added about an inch to her height, and her breasts were pushed up to compliment her chest. Her strong collarbones stood out, along with her slightly curled charcoal-colored hair.

His statement sent chills down her spine, her fingers tickling his palms to bring his attention back to her. “It’s okay,” she whispered back. “We’ll figure this out.”

The priest’s powerful words brought them both back to reality. “Nicholas Jerry Jonas, do you take Selena Marie Gomez as your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, ‘till death do you part?”

Nick’s breath caught in his throat. His grip on Selena’s hands tightened slightly, hoping she would know what to do. Her quiet whisper startled him, bringing him to his senses.

“Do what you know is right.”

The priest’s voice shocked Nick once more. He repeated the last part of his previous statement. “Do you take Selena as your wife, Nicholas?”

Only a few short seconds passed before Nick spoke. His mouth opened, and his words didn’t surprise him.

---

“Do you, Joseph Adam Jonas, take Demetria Devonne Lovato as your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, ‘till death do you part?”

His eyes focused on his black leather shoes, Joe shifted his body weight on each foot, thinking. Sighing, he found himself looking back up at Demi. He put on his best smile, responding, “I do.”

Smiling contently, the priest continued. “And do you, Demetria Devonne Lovato, take Joseph Adam Jonas as your lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, ‘till death do you part?”

With tears brimming at the corners of her eyes, Demi peered up at the crucifix hanging on the wall behind the priest. A silent prayer played in her head, her eyes turning back to the man she was bound to marry. Her mouth opened, her voice cracking slightly.

“I-”

“No!” a loud voice erupted through the quiet church. “No, Demi!”

Gasps escaped everyone’s mouth, their heads turning to see who the brave man was. “Nick?” Demi questioned, shocked yet gleaming.

She watched as Nick quickly walked to the front of the church. His left hand held his suit jacket together, revealing that he didn’t have a wedding band on.

“There is no way in Hell that you are marrying Joe because you know that this was my mess to fix, and I’m fixing it.”

Nick’s stern voice caused Demi to smile, her happiness being more genuine than it had been in a long time. Immediately, she let go of Joe’s hands and walked toward him, embracing him in the tightest hug she could.

“I love you,” she whispered.

Simultaneously, they pulled away. Nick’s hand quickly grabbed Demi’s, slipping on a small diamond band.

He chuckled slightly, “This wasn’t how I imagined proposing to you properly, but wanna make me the happiest man alive?”

Through her tears, Demi giggled, “Yes,” she whispered, hugging Nick once more.

Standing at the back of the church, Demi saw Selena give her a thumbs-up, watching as Joe walked to her. Joe picked up Selena and slightly spun her. He put her down and kissed her quickly, their smiles beaming.

And this was their happy ending. A little fucked up happy ending, if I must say, but they had their dream. Their lives were complete, with a dash of make-up sex here and there.

The end.
