one month later
"what should i do? i should buy him something, huh? like a present? does he like flowers? no. chocolate?"
"yoongi, just calm down. he really likes you. just being sweet and asking him out is gonna make him over the moon," jimin said, smiling.
it was a few hours before they both had to work and the two boys were hanging out at yoongi's to make a plan for yoongi to ask out hoseok.
"he probably thinks i'm crazy for waiting so long, huh? maybe he lost interest-"
"not even the slightest. besides, he could have asked you out, too. you guys are just nervous. it's cute."
"alright, if you're sure."
"so, do you think the plan's good?" jimin asked, looking into yoongi's bathroom mirror as he applied some eyeliner.
"let's go over it one more time. we're all gonna hang out tonight at your place. later into the night, jin's gonna say he's tired and go to your spare bedroom, you and joon are gonna go fuck-"
"hey, i never said that!"
"whatever. the point is me and hobi will be alone. that gives me the perfect time to tell him how i feel and ask him on a date."
"great! he'll ten thousand percent say yes."
"i hope so. he's so fucking cute. and sweet. and funny. and smar-"
"i know. he is. so, you better treat him good, yoongi. he deserves the world."
"yeah, he does."
-
"i just don't get it. if he likes me, why hasn't he asked me out yet? it's literally been a month since we met and we see each other all the time. i'm starting to think he's just not into me," hoseok said, sighing.
hobi, jimin, and jin were all chilling in the back room of their work, around a table, while yoongi was in the restroom. it was a few minutes before their shift started and hoseok was using the time to vent about yoongi.
"hoseok, yoongi likes you. you like him. he's obviously just nervous," jin said, sighing.
"well, then why hasn't he done anything?"
it was silent, until hoseok looked over to jimin and saw a huge smirk on his face that he was obviously trying to hide.
"you know something," hoseok said, harshly, "tell me."
jimin looked down, laughed to himself, then looked back up.
"i-i don't know anything-" jimin said.
"you're a terrible liar! you better tell me right now."
"yeah, you're the closest with him, jimin. you have to know something."
"yoongi hasn't told me anything. really."
"then why are you all giggly?" hoseok asked, raising an eyebrow.
with perfect timing, yoongi walked out of the bathroom and over to the group, stopping to grab his apron on the way.
"i'm back," yoongi said, smiling.
"long time no see," jin snickered.
hoseok just sat back in silence, feeling his face heat up at the sight of yoongi putting on his apron, his slight arm muscles flexing.
"jimin, remember how you were talking about that hang out thing? are we still doing that?" yoongi asked, trying to casually put the plan into action.
"oh, yeah!" jimin said, way over the top.
yoongi gave him a look, silently trying to tell him to tone it down.
"i- i forgot to ask everyone," jimin said, clearly understanding yoongi's death stare, "do you guys maybe wanna come over tonight? we can all just watch movies and order pizza and stuff. also, if any one wants to sleep over that's fine, too."
hoseok glanced over to yoongi and quickly looked back to jimin, speaking up, "who's all invited?"
"just you, me, jin, and yoongi. oh- and joon will be their too, of course," jimin said, making sure to put extra emphasis on yoongi's name.
hoseok gave jimin the look, obviously annoyed at him for making it so obvious that he wanted yoongi to come.
"well, i heard pizza. i'll be there," jin said.
"sounds fun. i'll go," yoongi said, smiling.
"me too!" hoseok said, quickly getting embarrassed about getting so exited, "i-i mean... i think i can go. i have to check my schedu-"
"oh, just shut the fuck up, hosoek. we all know you're going," jin said, jokingly.
"so, what time should we be there?" yoongi asked, feeling bad for the boy and trying to change the subject.
"maybe like... six? not that important, though. just whenever you can get there."
"well, none of us have lives, so we'll all be there at six sharp," jin said, standing up to get his apron.
"yay! i can't wait."
"me neither! i'm gonna run to the bathroom before our shift starts," hoseok said, standing up and walking away.
as soon as he was out of sight, yoongi quickly sat down.
"okay, jin, we have a plan," jimin said.
"i knew you knew something!"
"shhhh, keep it down," yoongi said, not wanting hoseok to hear.
"okay, so at this party tonight is when he's gonna ask hoseok out. but the two of them need to be alone, so you're gonna have to go sneak into me and joon's room or go sleep in my guest room or something at about ten. then me and joon will go to our room. that way they can have their privacy and yoongi can ask him out."
"damn, alright. how are you feeling, yoongs? nervous?" jin asked, patting his back.
"a little bit. i think he'll say yes, i'm just nervous about what to say to him. stuff usually just flows out so naturally with me, but i don't know. he just gets me so... flustered. i've never been like that with anyone before."
"that's so fucking cute, yoongi. just speak from the heart, i'm sure you'll do fine," jin said.
"yeah, i hope so. it's still scary, though-"
"what's scary?"
all three of the boys looked over and saw where the voice was coming from.
hoseok was standing there, confused expression on his face.
they were all too shocked to respond, so jimin quickly spoke up.
"oh... just... spiders," jimin said, saying the first thing that came to his head.
"spiders?"
yoongi kicked him under the table and quickly started trying to cover up jimin's awful lie.
"what jimin's trying to say is, we saw a spider while you were in the bathroom and it freaked us all out cause it was so big."
hoseok jumped back, looking over the floor.
"where is it?"
"oh, it's fine. jin killed it."
hobi let out a sigh of relief. yoongi did as well, happy that hoseok believed his lie.
they talked for another minute, trying to change the subject from the spider.
"guys, our shift starts in one minute. we should get out there."
-
after all of their shifts ended, yoongi and jimin immediately went back to yoongi's place to pick out his outfit
"he likes when you wear headbands and style your hair all nice, so you should do that. also he likes your arms, so you've gotta wear short sleeves," jimin said, digging through his drawers.
"can i at least wear sweatpants? i wanna be comfortable."
"yeah, that's fine. sweatpants are sexy."
yoongi just laughed, pulling out a black t-shirt and black sweatpants.
jimin laid down on his bed, facing away from him, while yoongi threw the clothes on. once he was done, he told jimin to look.
"it's kind of basic, but i don't wanna look like i was trying too hard."
"no, i like it. it gives off the, 'i rolled out of bed looking this hot' type of look.
yoongi laughed again, grabbing a few headbands out of his drawer.
"which one?"
"i like the red one. it'll add a nice pop of color."
"alright."
yoongi looked in the mirror and put the red headband on. he was doing his best to make it look nice, ruffling his hair and running his fingers through it.
"how's this?"
"wow," jimin said, clearly impressed, "you look great."
"thanks," yoongi said, shyly.
jimin stood up from yoongi's bed and motioned for him to follow.
"we should head back to my place and start setting everything up."
-
later that night
"that was a pretty good movie. what'd you guys think?" yoongi asked.
all five of the boys were sprawled out on the couch. jimin and joon were all cuddled up together- jimin's cat resting on his chest, jin was sitting on the recliner, and hoseok and yoongi were sitting beside each other, not touching.
"i mean, i've already seen it a few times, but it was still good," hoseok said.
"i thought the ending was pretty interesting. she didn't need a night in shining armor or a man to come save her. she had the love from her-"
"joon, it's frozen. it's not that deep," jin said, laughing.
"hey, i think it's pretty deep," jimin said, defending joon.
"whatever. i'm gonna go to bed, i'm beat," jin said standing up.
yoongi's heart stopped, realizing that the plan was in action.
"is it cool if i sleep in your guest room?" jin asked, looking to jimin and joon.
"of course. also there's extra blankets in there if you need them."
"thanks," jin said, winking at yoongi as he walked away.
he went down the hallway towards the guest room, but once everyone looked away, he snuck into jimin and joon's room.
"joonie, i'm kind of tired, too. can we go to bed?" jimin asked, cutely, wrapping his arms around him.
joon was well aware of the plan, but still found jimin adorable.
"yeah, baby, whatever you want," joon said, "i guess we're gonna go to bed, guys. you can both totally chill here if you want. there's food in the fridge and the movies are over in that cabinet. there's blankets, too, if you guys wanna crash on the couch."
joon looked down and saw that jimin was already asleep on his chest. he wasn't sure if jimin was truly asleep or if it was just the plan, but he scooped him up in his arms anyways and stood up.
"night guys. thanks for coming over. that was fun," joon said, heading to their room.
yoongi and hoseok quickly agreed, thanking joon for having them.
hoseok looked back down, but yoongi's eyes remained on jimin. joon was walking away with jimin's head resting on his shoulder. it really did look like he was sleeping- that is, until jimin opened his eyes a bit and smirked, shooting a wink at yoongi.
yoongi just laughed and quickly looked back down.
"what is it?" hoseok asked, smiling at him.
yoongi was pulled out of his laughing daze as hoseok spoke to him.
"huh? oh... they're just cute."
"yeah... they are," hoseok said, sighing.
yoongi could sense a bit of sadness in hoseok's voice and decided to ask him about it.
"what is it?"
"oh... it's nothing."
"no, tell me," yoongi said, scooching closer to him.
"well... i don't know if you know this or not, but... i used to like jimin."
honestly, yoongi already knew that hoseok used to have a thing for jimin. he knew a lot more about hoseok than he was letting on. not in a creepy way, though. it was just that jimin would always rant to him when he was going through all his problems.
"oh, you did?" yoongi asked, not wanting to seem creepy and say that he already knew.
"yeah. it's just that-"
"what? you're sad that he's with joon?" yoongi asked, his smile fading.
"no, no! it's just... he's really happy. and of course i'm happy for him, but... i don't know. i guess i'm just a little upset."
"upset? about what? are you sure it's not cause of jimin?"
"no, it's definitely not. it's just... i like someone else," hoseok said, looking up and making direct eye contact with yoongi, "a-and i guess i'm jealous that jimin gets the guy he likes and i don't."
"o-oh," yoongi said, a slight smirk making it's way to his lips, "so... this guy. do i know him?"
"yeah. really well, actually," hoseok said, his smile growing.
"hmmm. is this guy wearing a black shirt?"
"y-yeah."
"black sweatpants?"
hoseok nodded, trying to hide the blush making it's way to his face.
"possibly a... red headband?"
hoseok lifted his head and nodded again.
"hmmm, interesting," yoongi said, smiling, "well, i like someone, too."
hoseok's head shot up, nervously, "y-you do?"
"yup. he's so cute. and funny. and smart. he's also very kind, and well spoken. he cares about his friends a lot and values other people's feelings. he's been through a lot of shit in his life, but somehow still manages to be such an amazing person. he makes me feel like i've never felt before. just being around him makes me feel more complete. i just wanna be with him all the time, so i really hope that he feels the same way."
hoseok was star struck.
"y-yoongi?"
"yes?" he asked, playing with his fingers to calm himself.
"is the guy... the one you like..," hoseok said, nervously, "is he sitting next to you?"
yoongi laughed and turned his head away, with flushed cheeks. he turned back and smiled at him.
"yes. yes, he is," yoongi said, happily, "i like you, hoseok. and i wanna take you out on a date, if you'll let me."
"hmmm," hoseok said, jokingly pretending to think about it, "where would we go?"
"wherever you want."
"food. i like food," hoseok said, smiling.
"then food it is."
after awhile of just laughing and joking around, they were met with silence.
the two boys just stared at each other, feeling as the mood changed. they had been holding back for a while, so the urge to kiss each other was very strong. they both started leaning in slowly, like gravity was pulling them.
"seok, can i-"
"yes- please," he said, breathing heavily from nervousness.
yoongi leaned in further, hovering over hoseok's lips slightly. he hesitated for a moment, but quickly caved at the temptation.
-
the make out session went on for almost a whole two minutes- until hoseok broke away.
yoongi opened his eyes and what he saw was heavily unexpected.
tears were rolling down hoseok's cheeks. he immediately got concerned, praying he hadn't made him upset or uncomfortable.
"what happened?" he asked, in a slight panic, "are you okay?"
yoongi quickly began wiping his tears, waiting for his reply.
hoseok sniffled and a big smile made it's way to his face.
"no, no, i-i'm fine- great, actually."
"then wh-"
"it just... it feels so good," hoseok said, laughing a bit out of embarrassment,
"to be wanted."
-
"how do you think it's going out there?" jimin asked listening through the door.
"well i don't hear anymore talking," jin said.
"do you think they're..?"
jin just smirked, shrugging his shoulders.
"i wouldn't be surprised."
"guys, give them some space. i'm sure one of them will tell you guys all about it tomorrow," joon said.
jimin and jin agreed, sighing.
"i just realized something," jin said, out of the blue.
"what?"
"i'm gonna be the only one in the group who's not dating anyone. i'm gonna be the fifth wheel."
"jin, you're not gonna be the fifth wheel," jimin said.
"and, hey, if you're super desperate to date someone... i know hye-jin's available," joon said, laughing.
"ew. on second thought, i'm fine. being single is fucking great," jin said, heading for the door.
"night, jin," jimin said, still laughing at namjoon's joke.
"night, chim. night, joon."
jin left and shut the door behind him, sneaking back to their guest room.
"well, that sure went well. you happy?" namjoon asked, staring right at jimin.
"yeah, i'm beyond happy," jimin said, walking over to him and sitting down directly on his lap.
"oh, yeah?"
"yeah. everything's just perfect."
"well... almost perfect. there's one thing missing," namjoon said, smirking.
"what?"
namjoon leaned in and kissed jimin softly, cradling him in his arms.
they broke away and jimin just laughed at how cheesy joon was.
"you're right. now it's perfect," jimin said, laughing.
