ANASTASIA'S POV:
Revelation.
A surprising and previously unknown fact, especially one that is made known in a dramatic way.
<><><><>
Life had passed by in a blur. Mine and Nathan's seventeenth birthday had come and gone, and now came the next hurtle of life.
Nathan had met the little twins, Courtney and Dylan, on the night of Halloween. Nate and I had gotten dressed up and went trick or treating with them. Courtney and Dylan absolutely adored Nathan, they loved following him around and were practically hanging on every word Nathan spoke.
Nathan had been surprised to say the least, especially when the twins called me "mom-Ana" in front of him. Surprisingly, Nathan didn't even begin to lecture me like I thought he would have, he just smiled -though it was a bit forced- and talked with Courtney and Dylan about anything they wanted to discuss.
Later once trick or treating was over Nathan had only told me that I owed him no explanation, and that he would always love me, no matter the situation.
It was safe to say the twins found a new best friend in the loving arms of their adoptive uncle/brother. And I was seriously contemplating whether I should tell Nate about the gang yet.
Jackson, Mason, Matthew, and James on the other hand still have no idea about the little twins, seeing as I made Nathan promise not to talk about them in their presence.
It wasn't that I didn't like my brothers, especially the other three who have been trying to prove themselves. I just didn't trust anybody near my babies, especially not with the history we all have together.
I know people can change, but until I'm at a point where I'd trust them with my life, I wouldn't place any of my trust in my other four brothers taking proper care of my babies. Besides, nobody would ever take care of my babies like I would.
<><><><>
The day started like any normal Thursday morning, at five o'clock in the morning the group and I did our normal weekday work outs. We did our stretches for five minutes to warm up, then we moved on to seventy-five curl ups, seventy-five pull ups, thirty-five push ups, seven miles running on the treadmill, and five more minutes of stretching for a cool down.
We finished at six-seventeen in the morning, and that allowed ourselves more than enough time to be able to shower and get ready for the day.
I quickly washed my hair and body, before letting my body rest under the scalding hot water that was removing all the unpleasant knots in my back from the amount of physical and emotional stress I've been putting it under lately.
Sighing, I reluctantly turned the water off and quickly began to dry my body off before tying my wet hair up into a towel wrap. I gently stepped out of the shower, watching where I plant my feet down so I wouldn't slip or fall on the damp floor.
I looked in the mirror that was above the sink and stared at myself.
I looked healthy on the outside, but I paid closer attention to my eyes. They lacked the brightness that had been in them years before. I looked exhausted.
I was emotionally exhausted.
Sighing once again, I opened the bathroom door that was attached to my bedroom and walked straight to my closet, skimming through my clothes.
And in the end my eyes locked onto a light grey colored polo shirt, a pair of black blue jeans, and a pair of black wedges. Grabbing the clothes, I quickly dressed in my underclothes and then in my business casual clothes.
Debating on a jacket to wear, I went for my biological father's old leather jacket that Miles, my adoptive father, had found in the old attic (from the house we lived in, in California) years ago.
ANASTASIA'S OUTFIT IN THE IMAGE ABOVE
(something like in the image above, but instead of the navy blue blazer it's supposed to be a black leather jacket.)
Once I was dressed for the day in my outfit, I quickly moved to getting the twins ready for the day. I had bathed Courtney and Dylan last night, which meant that they didn't need a bath this morning.
Instead, with both still sleeping I quickly dressed them both. Courtney was wearing a black and white horizontally stripped t-shirt, with blue jean jeggings, and brown faux leather ankle boots. I grabbed Courtney's creame colored knee length jacket. The jacket was both pretty and would keep her perfectly warm.
COURTNEY'S OUTFIT IN THE IMAGE ABOVE
Keeping with the horizontal stripe theme, I dressed the still sleeping Dylan, in a black and white horizontally stripped shirt, some dark blue slightly ripped jeans, and some ankle length Adidis shoes that were light and dark blue. I also grabbed Dylan's dark blue and grey jacket. His jacket would go with his outfit and keep him perfectly warm, just like Courtney's.

After they were both dressed and somehow still sleeping, I picked up their baby bag, placing their jackets inside of it, and placed it on my shoulder. Then I carefully picked up Dylan in my arms, leaning his head on my left shoulder, while I repeated the same careful steps to pick up Courtney and place her head on my right shoulder.
I made my way down the stairs slowly, in order not to drop either young toddler who were asleep against me. Once downstairs, in the living room I placed the babies on the couch before turning the tv on and placing the volume on low.
After making sure they were comfortable and the tv wouldn't wake them up, I placed the baby bag down, took their jackets out of it, and placed them on the back of the couch.
Then, I walked towards the kitchen where Max was going over documents for the illegal side of the business, and Wyatt was on his computer trying to find us another lead about our parents killers.
"Morning." I spoke, walking towards the refrigerator.
"Morning Ana, how'd you sleep?" Max asked, his eyes not wavering from the papers in front of him.
"Slept fine, you?" I grabbed the premade fruit bowls and a bottle of water from the fridge, before closing it.
"Eh, too busy worrying about this shipment that's set for next week." Max replied, "We've been having the American Mafia trying to intervene too many times."
"Yeah, alright." I sighed heavily, "We've been getting bigger and bolder, especially since Dad had taken over from the previous leader. It was only a matter of time until they came after us. I'll take a look at it tonight to try and figure out what we can do about it."
I sat on the left side of Max, who was now in between Wyatt and myself.
"Then you'll call a meeting with Luke, Layla, Jamie, Kayla, Wyatt, and myself, to talk about our different courses of action and where we can go from here?"
"Yep." I smiled tiredly as I opened the fruit bowl.
"What about you Wyatt, what are you doing?" I asked.
"Hmm." Wyatt hummed before turning his head to look at us, "I got an alert about an hour ago that someone was trying to hack into our servers, I got it handled, but I'm figuring out who it is, where they were located, and why they tried hacking in."
"Alright, give me a report back on your findings once you're finished, yeah?"
"Of course." Wyatt smiled, before his attention turned back to the computer in front of him.
<><><><>
Quite a few hours had passed. It was now two-forty in the afternoon and school had just finished- the twins were still at daycare, while my friend group was getting ready to leave the school. Max had luckily finished the documents before school started, and Wyatt had transferred the information from his computer onto a small tablet that he took with him, while the rest of the group (Layla, Luke, Kayla, and Jamie) had previously caught up on all their work that their positions needed them to do.
On the other hand, I was getting ready to spend a few hours with four of my older brothers: Nathan, Mason, Jackson, and Matthew.
"Hey Nate, you ready to go meet the others at Matthew's room?" I asked my twin brother who nodded his head.
"Definitely, I can't wait to spend some time with our siblings like when we were younger." Nathan smiled.
Together, hand in hand, Nathan and I made our way towards Matthew's classroom, where Mason, Jackson, and Matthew were already waiting for us.
"You guys ready to go?" Matthew asked.
"Yep." Nathan and I answered in unison.
"Alright, let's go then- Janlen's Arcade first, right?"
We all nodded our heads, and soon enough we were on our way out of the school building.
<><><><>
Right before we exited the school building my phone began ringing loudly- Wyatt.
"Give me a second." I told my brothers, "I need to answer this. It's work."
I answered the call, "Hey Wyatt, what's up? We're just getting ready to leave the school."
"Have you left the school building yet?"
"No, we're putting on our coats, then we're going to the car, why? You sound panicked."
"It was a fake breach this morning." Wyatt exclaimed through the phone, "I spent so much time trying to figure out the diversion that I almost missed the real incident. They got your phone number, hacked into your phone, and found your location. They're waiting to surprise you."
"Fuck." I mumbled.
"Thanks for the heads up, I'll get us all to the car and get us all straight home. Someone picked up the twins?"
"Luke and Layla are already on their way back. Just you we're waiting for."
"You're watching through the school cameras?" I questioned, my brothers looking at me in confusion at the question.
"Yeah, I've got the outdoor cameras too."
"Call in for backup, I know they'll take about fifteen minutes to get here, but just in case call them in, and keep them updated. Understand?"
"Understood, boss." he told me, while I heard typing of keyboard keys in the background.
"Okay, we'll be back soon, then."
"Be safe, Anastasia. I love you."
"To the moon and back."
I ended the phone call and sighed, "Don't open those doors. Come on, we need to go around back."
I dropped my phone on the floor and pulled us away from the doors.
"Ana, your phone." Nathan pointed out.
"Leave it." I spoke, "Now hurry up, there's been a change of plans."
We walked around to where the back exit of the school was located, and I pulled my gun out of backpack.
"A-Ana-stasia..." Matthew stuttered.
"Relax, I'm not going to kill you guys, and I can't explain now, but you need to trust me. Something bad is going to happen, so you need to listen to me."
"Anastasia." Matthew spoke, "What trouble did you get into?"
"Things. I can't really elaborate right this second, and I promise I'll explain everything as soon as we're in a safe place. But there are bad people after me, and in turn you, so I need you to trust me this one time. Do you trust me?"
"I trust you." Nathan replied.
"Matthew, Jackson, Mason?"
"What do I have to do?" Mason asked.
"Just listen to my directions as I give them, and I promise you'll come out mostly unharmed."
"Okay, you got it." Mason nodded his head.
"If he's in, I'm in." Jackson told me.
"You'll explain everything?" Matthew asked, his eyes still locked onto the gun in my hand.
"Yes." I nodded, "As soon as I can, but we have to hurry."
Right as the words left my mouth, I heard gunshot after gunshot ricochet from where we had been just moment earlier. They had already figured out that I dropped my phone purposefully. Shit.
"Let's go, and whatever you do don't make a single sound."
I opened the back door and cautiously looked around, we moved from the door (which I had softly close behind us) to behind the dumpsters. Then I moved us from the dumpsters to the side of the building, which had moderate coverage.
From my viewpoint there were at least twelve people who all had machine gun weapons. They didn't seem to be wearing bulletproof clothes, but there was no way of knowing for sure at this distance.
"Listen." I whispered harshly, as I ducked my head back in, "When I tell each individual person to run, you run. You're only going to run to those cars, and you're going to crouch once you get to the cars. And no matter what, you will not call 9-1-1. Got it?"
They all nodded their heads and I sighed, before I peaked my head out again, and this time shot three of the men with three bullets as I whispered, "Now Matt. Now Jack."
One head shot for one guy, and two chest shots for the other two men, each who dropped like a fly. Matthew and Jackson made it safely across the playing field.
Stuffing my head back, so I wasn't visible, I sighed heavily. I had two more brothers and myself to get across the parking lot.
Suddenly, the remaining nine men had lifted their guns and began shooting at where I had been a mere second before.
"A-Ana..." Mason muttered in disbelief, "Y-you just ki-killed three people..."
"Yes, I did." I agreed, "But Matthew and Jackson are both safe from any bodily harm and that's what matters."
I looked around to see if there was anything that I could use to distract the remaining men, and I seen a few medium sized rocks that if thrown hard enough should be able to knock someone out.
Noticing that the gunshots had become less frequent, I quickly peaked my head passed the corner of the building and chucked two of the medium sized rocks at two of the guards heads, and a third rock passed them at the brick wall a few feet away from them, "Now Mason."
With their backs turned towards where the rock had landed, I quickly shot two more people in their backs. I quickly moved my body back around the building, so I was unseen.
We were down to at least five remaining bodies. Four were dead and two were at the very least unconscious.
"Now I just gotta get you across safely." I sighed as I looked at Nathan's awe struck expression.
"Nathan?" I whispered softly.
"You're such a badass." he replied back.
"What?"
"I told you-" he knocked his shoulder against mine, "From now on I'm always on your side."
"Thanks Nate." I smiled, "Now let's get you to the other side safely."
I took a deep breath and once again peaked out passed the side of the building, where I made eye contact with one of the five remaining men. And as quickly as I had popped my head out, I quickly moved to let the building cover my body.
Shots went off from all five men as I looked behind Nathan and I, making sure that nobody was sneaking up behind us. Nathan and I's best bet would probably be to wait a few minutes for their ammunition to run out, allowing us to quickly move over towards the boys, who were watching on in fear.
And shortly, the gun fire began slowing down, allowing me to peak my head over and then whisper "Now, Nate." Before quickly shooting down three of the five men left, and moving back to allow the wall to cover me once Nathan had made it fully behind the cars.
With only two men left, and all my brothers safely across. I knew I didn't have much longer until the guards who had come into the building would be making their way out, so I took in a big gulp of air as the adrenaline rushed throughout my veins, and I shot the last two men in their chests, allowing myself the freedom to run over to where all my brothers were cowering behind the cars.
"Let's move to my car, before the rest of them come out."
"There's more?" Jackson cried out.
"Yeah, they're in the school currently. Now let's go, there's no time to waste."
Watching as my brothers quickly hopped in my car, I then followed their example and hopped into the driver's seat. I quickly buckled my seatbelt before turning on the car. I moved the gear of the car and slammed my foot onto the gas just as the remaining men came rushing out of the school.
It was time for some major revelations once we got back to my house.
And there would be no more hiding the truth.
