Percy, let's break the fourth wall, shall we?

Gladly.
——————

The seven heroes were up on Olympus. They glanced at each other not knowing what to do. Well, all except Percy of course. You see, there was something different about this hero. The reason he was so powerful was because he was able to do something no one else can.

"You don't say," he mumbled. Annabeth raised an eyebrow at him. Percy flashed her a lopsided smile and she returned it. Back to before, he could break the fourth wall. In other words, he could communicate with the audience. In this case, the readers. Say hi, Percy.

The son of Poseidon stretched his arms and made a waving gesture before placing it down. "Demigods!" Zeus' loud voice boomed throughout the throne room. Percy and Annabeth rolled their eyes as they listened to him. "Without your help, we wouldn't have been able to defeat Gaia," he said it with much reluctance. Some gods nodded their heads in agreement while other remained neutral. Too arrogant for their own good.

He then proceeded to talk about how the gods could have also beaten Gaia. Percy had already tuned half of his mind out. He let himself wander in his mind palace. It was this place where he kept all his secrets, events and whatever. He was standing in a black abyss. A door materialised in front of him.

He walked towards it and took out the key he appeared in his hand. He was about to slot it in when he felt something. More like someone. "Times like these when I hope the author could help me," he muttered lowly. The presence was unfamiliar. He had all the gods' aura and presence memorised. This one was older. Much older than even Gaia herself.

A sword materialised in his hand as he turned around to face the person. Standing ten feet away from him was a man. He had black hair and silver eyes. The man glanced at him suspiciously and curiously. Percy doing the same thing. Strange thing was, he felt...familiar. Not as in the-memorised-aura familiar but the I-know-you-my-whole-life familiar.

The man took a step towards him but Percy didn't move back. "Who are you?" He asked. The man's eyes widened as recognition flashed across his eyes. Percy clutched his materialised sword in his hand tightly.

"Seth." Percy stumbled as he heard laughter. A woman's laughter. Blurry images appeared in his visions.

"You're doing great, sweetheart."

"When will daddy come back?"

"We love you. Never forget that."

Percy collapsed on his knees as his breathing became strained. "What was that?" He asked. The man took another hesitant step towards him. Percy glanced up at him as another image flashed by. This time, the man was inside. He was laughing and Percy felt small. He realised he was in a child's body. It wasn't just anyone's, but his.

"One day, you'll rule there." The man pointed out. Percy's head turned as he glanced a the man. "What about you and mama?" The voice was small and innocent. With a sudden realisation, it was his too. The man chuckled and it dissolved into nothing.

Percy looked around frantically. The man stood in front of him with pain in his eyes. "Seth, please. Don't you remember us?" He asked. Percy stared up at him. Seth. Why was it so familiar?

"Stay away from me," he managed to say before he grabbed onto the door and flung it open.

He shot open his eyes and staggered backwards. Zeus had just finish giving his speech. Everyone glanced at him as he remembered why he was doing here. He forced a grin. "My bad," he said sheepishly. The others turned from him as Zeus continued speaking.

Percy let his smile drop as he relived the images. Who were they? Why did they look so familiar? And the man. Why did he call him Seth? That wasn't his na-.

No way.

Percy's mind ran through different possibilities. He couldn't possible be the man's son. He was the son of Poseidon and Sally Jackson. He needed answers. The most logical thing to do? Go back into his mind.

He bent his head down slightly as he let his mind drift off. He was back in the familiar black abyss. The only difference was that the man was standing there. Wasn't this his mind? How come he could come in?

The man turned around and saw him. "Seth, I'm your father," he said desperately.

"How do I know you're not lying?" He asked. His voice wavering slightly. The man shook his head and walked forward. This time, Percy didn't back up. He stayed where he was until the man stood less than an arm's length away from him.

"I can show you," he said. Another door appeared. It was different from the one Percy always summoned. The man walked towards it and pushed it open. Behind it was nothing but darkness. Percy walked forwards hesitantly as the man held his hand out. "Do you trust me?"

"Do you trust me?"

"Yeah, daddy."

"I do."

Percy took his hand and walked into it. When he opened his eyes, he was standing on a grass field. Laughter filled the air as he glanced around the area. Little children ran past him as they played. One of them ran through him. He walked past everyone and it hit him, this was a memory. But whose?

"This was before the invasion happened." Percy glanced at the man. His eyes narrowed slightly. "What invasion?" Just as he asked, he heard shouts and shots all around him. All around him was chaos. The children screamed as they ran back to their parents. There were commands and shouts from the people as they took their weapons out.

Percy looked behind him and saw a huge war ship above them. People started falling from the sky and landing on the ground. They held their weapons as they charged at them. Everyone fell left and right, from both sides.

"Adeline!" He heard the man's voice. When he turned around, it was the man. He ran towards a woman who was carrying a child. The woman had long wavy brown hair and green eyes. Fear and desperation were present in her eyes. The boy in her arms had black hair and green eyes. He looked about five.

That was him.

Percy continued watching as everything dawned onto him. The invasion must have triggered something as he watched everything replay a second time.

"You must leave!" The man urged her. The woman shook her head. "No, my love. I will not leave our home. We will win this," she said firmly. The man stared at her frustratedly before sighing.

"Fine, but Seth cannot stay. They are after him. So long as he's alive, they will stop at nothing to get him," he said. The woman nodded her head and together, they ran into the palace.

"General! Help the people outside. I will be out soon," he commanded. The general nodded his head and bowed before quickly leaving with the others.

"Sally!" A woman in her armour ran towards them. "Your majesties." she bowed to them. When she took her helmet off, Percy gasped. That was his mother. Or at least, he think she was. The woman hugged her and handed the child to her. Sally creased her eyebrows in confusion.

"Your majesties, I don't understand," she said. The woman had tears in her eyes as she glanced down at her child. The man looked at her and refused to let his emotions get the better of him. "Take care of him. Make sure no harm comes to him," the man said. Percy could tell that the man was trying his hardest not to cry.

Sally nodded her head and newfound determination in her eyes. "Of course, your majesties." The child had confusion in his eyes as he watched his mother cry.

"Mama, what's happening?" He asked worriedly. The woman hugged her son one last time before letting him go. "I love you so much," she said and kissed his forehead.

"Leave now." Sally nodded her head and ran out of the palace with the heir to the throne in her arms. The man hugged the woman as she sobbed. "We'll find him again," he murmured into her hair.

"Sire!"

The scene dissolved and Percy stood there letting everything settle in. The man took a hesitant step towards Percy. He placed a comforting hand on his shoulder as he turned around. Tears filled his eyes as he glanced up at his father.

"Why? What happened?" He asked, his voice breaking. The man exhaled through his nose as he explained, "They were after you. You were the heir to the throne and my enemies were be after you."

Percy let it sink in as he remembered the screams and shots being fired. Percy nodded his head absentmindedly. The man sighed and looked at him. "Sally was smart to make Poseidon think you're his son," he said. Percy completely forgot about that.

"So I'm not Poseidon's son?" He asked hesitantly. The man chuckled and shook his head. "You never could be. Your power exceeded his," he said.

Percy didn't know how to react anymore. He stood there with his shoulder slumped. How was he going to tell his friends? Oh yeah, hi guys, apparently my dad's not Poseidon. It's Chaos. Okay, we cool?

Yes, his father is Chaos, the Creator. Percy snorted quietly. The man raised an eyebrow. "You hear her too?" He asked and smirked. Percy's eyes held a hint of amazement and curiosity. Chaos smiled and gestured to the door that had just appeared.

"I think someone's looking for you," he said. At that moment, he could hear voices.

"Percy! Wake up!"

"How does he just faint?"

"Son!"

Percy whipped his head and glanced at Poseidon. He scrunched his face a little before facing Chaos. "You won't leave me again, right?" He asked, his tone filled with desperation and sadness.

Percy didn't want Chaos to leave again. He felt safer with him than he ever was with Poseidon. Chaos smiled knowingly. "When you wake up, I'll be there," he said. The Creator placed a soft kiss on his forehead before Percy woke up.
