Memories of a Broken Past

Hey guys! Just letting you know, please don't expect updates everyday, this is a rare occasion, I will update as often as I can. Enjoy!

Glory had just finished answering questions and solving problems in the Royal Pavilion. She was now heading to Suntime and, for once, she felt lonely. Normally, Deathbringer would've been at her side, today, however, she had sent him to find a patrol that had gone missing. Glory found herself missing his company.

As soon as she landed on the highest platform, she felt much calmer with the sun's rays shining down upon her. Stretching, she felt a twinge of pain under her left wing. When she looked she saw a long, thin, white line along the base of her wing. A scar. The memories from under the mountain came flooding back, and most of them were unpleasant to say the least.

"You lazy Rainwings!" Kestrel's talons raked across the underside of wing. Glory yelped with pain. On instinct she went in camouflage. Of course, this just made Kestrel more angry. She began blasting fire around the cave, trying to find Glory. Whoosh! A blast of heat hit her scales. Glory roared when it hit her, hadn't she been through enough? "Get out of my sight, you disgrace!"

Glory woke up with a start. She felt herself trembling. Splat! A drop of rain landed on her snout. When did it start raining I wonder? Now that the sun was covered up by the clouds, Glory decided to head back to the Royal Hut. Neither the Rainwings or Nightwings would be out in this weather. She hoped Deathbringer was waiting for her at the hut. Glory always felt safer when he was nearby, though she'll never tell him. She trusted him more than most dragons.

When she reached the hut she found everything the same as she had left it this morning. But no Deathbringer. Glory went to her hammock to try and get some rest. Little did she know that sleep would not come easy tonight...
