===== (3rd Person P.O.V) [10 years ago]
"I promise one day that I, Ethan Dolan, will take Y/N Y/L/N on the perfect date." She looked at his face and did the only thing she knew how. She hugged him tight and didn't let go. So they sat there. And hugged until it was too tiring to do so. And that was the last day she saw or talked to him. But he promised,
"One day, Y/N."
~Y/N's P.O.V~ [Present]
I slammed my finals book shut and threw it across the room. My roommate's head shot up from her book,
"What's going on?" She closed her book and laid it on her bed, coming to sit beside me. I got up, brushing past her and exiting the dorm. It had been one of the longest days possible and I wasn't retaining any information. I was aggravated and on the verge of breaking something. When I got to the student parking lot, the cold air soothed my hot face,
"It's just nerves. Calm down." I felt a tap on my shoulder,
"Excuse me?" I turned around slowly. A boy stood there holding flowers and a card. I raised an eyebrow,
"Yes?" I crossed my arms over myself. He shifted his weight nervously,
"Do you happen to know a Y/N Y/L/N?" He kept making periodical eye contact. My eyebrows dropped,
"That's me. Who's asking?" I took a closer look at his face,
"Aren't you- Oh my gosh!" I gasped,
"You're Ethan! From-" I gasped again. He smiled,
"Yeah. I-uh, made a promise when we were 8." He handed me a crinkled sheet of paper,
"I promise one day that I, Ethan Dolan, will take Y/N Y/L/N on the perfect date." That day came back to me. I looked up at him,
"Did you have this that whole time?" I clutched the paper into my chest. He nodded, holding the flowers and card to me,
"Is it too late to redeem that promise?"
