It's been two weeks into Bakugou's visit with Kirishima. They went around town some days and stayed in a watched TV the next. But today was the day they were going hiking.
"Oi, slothfuck! Hurry up!" Bakugou yelled. He was dressed in orange shirt and black cargo pants with a dark green and red pack on his back, which held water, snacks, medical equipment, and survival kits. He packed everything because he was an expert in hiking while Kirishima only went once in his lifetime.
The redhead stumbled down the hall wearing a dark blue shirt and light blue jeans. He was wearing is red crocs and his hair was tied back. Bakugou pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Go change. You can't wear that. Wear something loose and comfortable and some actual shoes with socks," Bakugou demanded to the pouting hero.
"Why? What's wrong with th-"
"If we get stuck in the middle of the woods it wouldn't be comfortable sleeping in skinny jeans and socks will protect your feet from the cold and ground as will actual shoes. Now go before I blow the fuck up." He scowled and without a word, Eijirou dragged himself back down the hallway. He changed into some light grey sweats and reluctantly put on some new shoes his mom bought him for his birthday a couple of months ago, which were the only sneakers he had.
He walked back out in the hallway and a backpack was thrown at him.
"I'm not carrying all the shit," he sneered, opening the door.
"That's fair," he admitted. And with that, the two men made their way down to the car and drove away. It took awhile to get to their destination, which was a park trail with many different paths that spread throughout a mountain. They got out, hoisted their packs over their shoulders, locking the car and starting their journey through the brush.
They walk up a few trails before Katsuki spoke up.
"I wanna go off trail. This is boring as shit," he said. Kirishima looked at him dumbly.
"Are we even allowed to?" he asked and made Bakugou roll his eyes.
"Of course. How do you think these shitty trails came from?"he huffed, "From people who got tired of the same fucking path." And with that, Bakugou steered off to the left and began trudging through the leaves and branches, quickly followed by Kirishima.
~TIME SKIP~
A whole lot of nothing but tripping on tree trunks and rocks happened to Kirishima. He wasn't accustomed to forestry much. When he was really young he went hiking with his uncle up on the mountain behind his house. He loved how much freedom he had gotten there and would tag along with his uncle everywhere he went. He couldn't pinpoint why he didn't go hiking again, but now it's become clear.
He absolutely hated hiking. Sure, it's good for Hero work and he doesn't hate being in the forest or else he wouldn't have become a hero, but hiking was the only thing he genuinely hated.
The heat and humidity, mosquitoes, possible poisonous plant encounters, dangerous animals and etc.
But Kirishima didn't have the heart to tell Bakugou the he hated one of his (few) hobbies. One reason was because of the look on his face. He was grinning when he wasn't yelling at Eijirou to keep up. The hero's eyes were sparkling with adventure as he eagerly swiped through branches and vines. Bakugou was at peace and Kirishima sure as hell didn't want to ruin that.
The two men came across a clearing. It was circular and the lime grass felt fluffy and soft under their shoes and it was about five yards in diameter. Flowers were grown up on vines around the trunks of very tall pine trees. It felt almost man made but not a single trace of footsteps or markings were visible.
"Woah..." was all Kirishima could say in this situation. He was dirty and sweaty and exhausted but none of that mattered when he gazed at the sight before him.
"I never thought..." Bakugou started, in which made the redhead look at him. Katsuki was staring towards the sky, his eyes fixated on a tree in front of him. The light of the blue sky illuminated him and his red eyes were bright and orangey. His sweaty hair was shining in the pool of light as he smiled. Bakugou's face was relaxed and peaceful as well as his body. His arms were hanging by his side and his sloping shoulders didn't seem like they were being used despite the heavy bag on his back.
It made Kirishima blush madly and it would've been noticeable if it wasn't so humid.
"Wanna, Uhh, rest here then go back? It's almost one," he suggested suggested in which he only got a nod in return. But when Kirishima was about to settle his bag on the ground, the blonde snatched it from his hands and started digging through it.
"Where the fuck is it?" Katsuki murmured quietly.
"H-Hey! You could've broke something!"
"Oh, quit whining shitty hair, you're fine."
"But-"
He was interrupted by Bakugou yanking out a thick blanket. It had a unique pattern. Bright, orangey-yellow, explosion like designs was sewn in each corner and crimson swirls scattered out of the explosions.
The next thing Bakugou pulled out was a horizontal container (storing sandwiches and potato chips) and a circular container (storing brownies and cinnamon sticks). It didn't register in Eijirou's brain that Katsuki was preparing a picnic.
The one thing he did know was that there was food. He was starving.
The redhead settled on the corner of the blanket and rested his hands in his lap politely. He may be super hungry but that's not enough to turn him into a savage.
He caught Bakugou glance at him a few times while setting up but he just brushed it off as him making sure Eijirou didn't do anything stupid. But he couldn't help but notice how Katsuki wore a nervous expression. His brows were furrowed and his mouth was pressed in a straight line. A bead of sweat ran down his face every time they made eye contact.
"Can we eat now?" Kirishima asked eagerly after the explosive blond set up everything. He only nodded in response. The redhead clapped his hands together with a big smile and exclaimed "Thank you for the meal!" before digging in.
Katsuki did the same thing except a lot quieter and had the frown deepen in his features. He seemed rather distracted in his own world, Kirishima noticed. He even waved his hand in front of Bakugou's face and to his dismay, no reaction was emitted.
"You okay Bakugou?" Kirishima asked. No response. He was just mindlessly eating away at his sandwich, staring blankly at his knees.
A mischievous smile came across his face as an equally mischievous thought came to mind.
"I forgot to tell you how Izuku and Todoroki actually came over to my house and..." Still no reaction.
'He must be pretty out of it huh,' Eijirou thought. He quietly scooted closer to the dazed Katsuki cupped his hands around his mouth.
He quietly sucked in his needed air and executed his plan.
"KATSUKI YOU GAY ASS HOMOPHOBIC!" He screamed right into Bakugou's ear. His eyes widened as he exploded the sandwich in his hand. A deep blush invaded his face as he whipped around to see the culprit. Kirishima fell backwards, laughing so hard he was in tears.
"WHY THE FUCK DID YOU SCREAM IN MY EAR, YOU DIPSHIT MOTHER FUCKMUNCH ASSHOLE!" he screamed back, making the poor hero laugh even harder.
"HAHAHAHA!" he snorted, "You.. should've seen... your face! HAHAHAHACK!" He was crying and wheezing and snorting. He couldn't get air and he knew just how purple his face was from the lack of oxygen.
He'd try to calm down, but then he'd remember the reaction and start back up laughing again.
It took what felt like an hour for the redhead to calm down enough to breathe. He sat back up to meet Bakugou in the eye, but even though he stared at him, Bakugou didn't meet his eyes. Kirishima started to furrow his brows.
"But what's the matter, man? You seem tense," Kirishima stated, a nervous smile still present on his lips. Katsuki took a deep breath and exhaled very sharply. "Hey man, it's-"
"Shut the fuck up. I need to tell you something."
