Hermione pov
"Why would Y/n hang out with them?" Ron asks rudely.
"Probably not her choice, I mean if her parents forced her to hang out with them because they want to get closer, she needs to stick around the Malfoy family." I state in thought. Y/n seemed upset.
"Well, the Malfoys suck." Ron added angerly.
"True ... but by the looks of it mate," George starts
"Y/n was going to yell or even hit Lucius if Harry and I didn't stop her." Fred finished Georges thought.
"Yeah she seemed real upset about those two." Ron's father chimed in.
"She's stood up for Harry, Hermione and I before. Makes sense she'd do it again." Ron explained. It's true in just one year she's proven her loyalty to us.
"But she would've gotten herself into a lot of trouble. I mean it's Lucius, her family's friend, not her friend." I say.
"If looks could kill, Lucius would be struck down where he stood." George joked.
"Brave one. She is?" Ron's father both sated and kinda asked.
"Yeah, she really could've been a Gryffindor but that's not who she is." I tell him.
"Seems to be. You can tell her she's welcome to stay over at our house anytime." Arthur told his family. Fred and George seemed pleased with this Ron looked confused.
"She's rich, she doesn't need to stay in a home such as ours." Ron states knowing that his family wasn't the richest.
"Money doesn't buy you a stable home or family." Arthur points out again.
"Yeah... You've worked with her family right?" Ron asked.
"Yes, a stoic group they are. They look tough and act tougher, they aren't afraid to make hard moral decisions. Y/n's mother watched her own sister die in order to send death eaters to Azkaban." Arthur informs us all. "I doubt her mother ever fully recovered."
"Does Y/n know?" I ask worried.
"To my knowledge she's aware, but she doesn't know much. They keep even the minister of magic in the dark about some things, their daughter it'd be no second thought, no questions asked, they can keep a secret from anyone." He sighs.
"Anyway, it's best not to dwell on them. Y/n seems like a good girl. Smart I'm sure she'll be fine." Arthur promised.
Y/n pov
You lay on your bed and twirl the clear vial your sister gave you.
"What in the world are you?" You ask aloud looking at the bottle.
You sigh and keep it hidden in a small box in your luggage.
Only a little while longer, until Hogwarts new school year was here.
****************
You smile as you Head to Platform 9 ¾ You hop on you seat. You see Alli and Bay arrive and wave them over.
They sit in your booth across from you and look around.
"How are you two doing?" You question.
"Good, we heard about Malfoy... and the bookshop." Alli yells you.
"Yeah, being a jerk. I swear he has to learn one of theses days." You sigh in frustration.
"Maybe." Alli smiles.
"Anyway, Bay you told me your family was having problems. Bay, you know we're here for you." You told Bay holding her hand lightly.
"It's nothing. Just my Dad and mum fighting over the fact I'm a witch and magic should not be something I learn." You and Alli gasp.
"That's ludicrous, you're entitled to practice magic, every witch and wizard is, and should be allowed to." You say annoyed that this is happening to your friend.
"Maybe. But mother grows more concerned." Bay sighs.
"Hey, people fear what they cannot understand. But it's not your fault." You say comforting her.
"Thanks Y/n, Alli." Bay says leaning on Allis shoulder.
"What about joining the Slytherin Quidditch team?" You ask shifting the mood.
"Well from what I heard they don't really take second years, and with me being a girl and our Capitan ignorant... I doubt they'll give me much of a chance." Bay sighs visibly stressed out about it.
"You'll show them, and if you don't get on this year, you'll try again next year." Alli promises.
"And if they still don't let you join, we can always hex them." You joke... sorta.
"But, really. You're good enough, you've spent two summers just training, you've got this." You say confidently.
"Thanks." Bay laughs.
"What about you Alli?" Bay asks.
"No, No Quidditch team for me... but I think I'd like to see if I could help out in the medical ward. I've always been interested in medicine, muggle and wizard alike." She tells you both.
"That's amazing!" Bay exclaims.
"I'm sure madam Pomfrey would love an extra set of helping hands." You reassure her.
"Hehe, yeah... Y/n what about you, any ideas of what you'd like to become or at least what you'd like to take part in this year?" Alli asks looking at you wondering.
"No not really. I just want this year to go smoothly. I want to graduate with all my friends here in tact." You say happily.
"I'm so glad we have a friend like you Y/n." Bay tells you as they both go in for a hug.
"I'm so glad to have you girls, honestly, without you girls I'd be listing to Draco drown on about his father's power and influence." You groan.
"Heh, sounds terrible." Alli laughs.
"God, I missed you two." You say relishing in the hug before letting them go.
"Besides who knows what this year will bring, I just hope nothing too dramatic other than Professor Snape." You sigh leaning back. The girls laugh and giggle at your comment.
The laughter dies down and you hear a familiar voice,
"Anything from the trolley!? Anythinggg from the Trolley!?" You hear the old lady say. You go out to greet her.
"Three, chocolate frogs please, two pumpkin pasties and a licorice wand please." You ask giving her more than the money you owed.
"There you go dearie." She says handing you your sweets.
"Thank you. Keep the change Ma'am." You say going back into your booth.
"Here ya go." You say throwing the girls the pumpkin pasties and chocolate frogs only keeping the liquorice wand and third frog for yourself.
"Thanks Y/n." Bay says eating her chocolate frog already.
"I'll pay ya back for this." Alli insists.
"No. Don't worry about it Alli. It's not a problem, my family can clearly afford it and you two are my friends." You say eating your Licorice wand.
"Well this is a good start to the first year." Bay mumbles her mouth full.
"Yeah, that's for sure." You giggle.
****************
You sit down at the Slytherin table and see Josh; he sits across from you as Bay and Alli sit beside you.
"Hi, how's it feel to be back?" He asks with a worried expression on his face.
"Amazing, almost as if I never left." You reply taking in the atmosphere.
"Yet you're a year older." He laughed.
"So are you." You mocked.
"Yeah, well, I'm happy you're here alright, I was worried you wouldn't come back after last years... incident." He gulps, you smile at the fact he missed you.
"No, matter what this is my home, no one will take that from me." Josh smirked at your words.
A bundle of new students came in and the sorting ceremony began, Slytherin got a few, Ravenclaw received many more, Hufflepuff and Gryffindor did fairly well too.
You notice at the Gryffindor table, Ron and Harry cannot be seen. You ignored it, they're probably fine, it's Harry and Ron.... Oh god it's Ron and Harry! You'll mention it to one of the professors when you can.
Soon enough the dinner is over and you all head to your rooms. You see that Bay, Alli and you are in the same room once again, to that you are grateful. You notice a note on your bed with the Hogwarts seal.
Y/n L/n,
Meet me in the headmaster's office, we have matters of importance to discuss. I'd apricate if you were to not speak to anyone about this. Also, you should bring this letter with you in the case of anyone telling you about curfew.
-Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore
Well this might be interesting.
(So he we go back into the school,What do you think the Headmaster wants you for? Will Bay get on the team?)
