Mornings are not the same if Heejin is not running to work with coffee on one hand and snacks for her children, Tomorrow x Together.
Luckily she arrived at least 30 minutes before 8AM today so she's not rushing.
Tomorrow is TXT's Cat & Dog Comeback Special for M Countdown so everyone's nervous and excited.
"AAAAAH!" Heejin screamed at the top of her lungs. Someone put their hands on her shoulders all of a sudden.
That certain someone was Jungkook, laughing his ass off and looking proud at his 'accomplishment'.
"What the hell? I almost spilled my coffee!" Heejin complained.
"That's because your head is always in the clouds. Stop thinking about Taehyung-hyung." Jungkook teased.
Heejin smacked Jungkook with the paper bag filled with cookies that she baked around 3AM this morning. Insomnia works wonders.
"Oh! Cookies! Give me some!" Jungkook bounced up and down like a little bunny.
"No way! Not after you scared me!" Heejin teased back.
"I was only joking! Come on, give me some. Aren't we close friends?" Jungkook was pouting. Heejin laughed and surrendered some cookies to him.
"Okay I should probably go! Thanks for the cookies Heejin-noona!" Jungkook teased. Heejin was only a few months older but Jungkook likes to call her noona sometimes.
Just when Heejin thought that Jungkook would go away, he returned with cookies in his mouth. "Ifrahft to ashk hawsh Soushin dousnh."
"What?" Heejin laughed.
Jungkook chewed as fast as he could and swallowed the cookies immediately. "I said, I forgot to ask how Soojin is doing." He said a-matter-of-factly as if he said it clearly the first time.
"Ya! You're not allowed to miss her! Stay away from my sister." Heejin joked. "She's fine. Busy with school as usual."
"Hey—" He put his hands in the air as if surrendering. "I was just wondering how she's doing since I only got to talk to her for a little bit last time you were sick."
"You do know that SNS exists, right? You should try it sometime." Heejin teased.
Jungkook pouted. "You're one to talk! You never reply to messages or answer calls! Taehyung-hyung always assumes that you're dead in a ditch somewhere."
"At least I'm not as bad as you! I reply to people when I can! You NEVER reply." Heejin smirked in victory.
"Gaaaaaaah you're so annoying Han Heejin!" Jungkook exclaimed. "I'm gonna go box now!"
This time, Jungkook left for real and Heejin made her way to the dance studio.
When Heejin arrived at the studio, no one was there yet. She put down the coffee and paper bag on a table and connected her phone to the speaker.
After almost one week of not being able to dance because of the TXT comeback and her asthma, she decided to warm up by playing some Tchaikovsky.
She was so lost in the music that she didn't realize that there were people in the room until they started clapping.
"Noona! That was so beautiful!" Huening Kai exclaimed with joy.
"Damn, our performance PD dances so well. We really are in goods hands." Yeonjun commented.
"Taehyung-sunbaenim is so lucky! He got to watch you dance as the two of you were growing up!" Beomgyu said.
The moment Beomgyu mentioned Taehyung's name, everything was hazy and Heejin's mind started floating back to last night.
Heejin saw 20 unopened messages in her inbox. All from Taehyung.
One of the messages said that he was freezing and that HE WAS OUTSIDE THEIR APARTMENT???
Heejin rushed to the door. Finding a rather grumpy Taehyung on the other side of it.
"Were you planning to let me freeze to death? You and your laziness to check your phone when there's a notification will kill me one day." Taehyung pouted.
"What the hell? It hasn't even been 5 minutes and it's not that cold anymore! Why are you here? It's too dangerous." Ignoring his comment, Heejin scolded him. "Wait a minute. Why is your hair black?"
"Look, I know you're shocked and all but it's really cold and I just wanna go inside. Please!" Without even waiting for Heejin's reply, he entered the apartment, took off his shoes and sat on the sofa.
"Don't act like you're the one who lives here! You look great—you always do—but why the sudden change? I haven't seen you with black hair since I left Daegu." Heejin pointed out, exaggerating the last part.
"Well... Sejin-hyung said that the blue hair would stand out too much if I try to come here. People might notice so right after the fansign event I decided that it's time to dye it." Taehyung explained.
"Eh?? Why would you do that just to come here? Such a waste of money!" Heejin said.
"Are you really asking me this right now? After what I did on M Countdown?" Taehyung was exasperated.
"Wasn't it because you knew that I liked the song and you wanted me to feel better since I was sick?" Heejin said with a serious face.
"Oh! My! GAAAH!" Taehyung's frustration levels reached the sky.
Taehyung sighed. He found himself laughing at the situation because this moment is a clear depiction of how their relationship has been for years.
He stood up and flicked Heejin's forehead. "Clearly, you're too stupid to understand this so I'm talking to someone more sensible. Jaejin! I'm going to your room to play."
A muffled 'okay' came from Jaejin's room.
Jaejin is not the talkative type but Taehyung seems to bring the energetic person out of him.
"How dare you! That was painful." Heejin held on to her forehead, seemingly trying to protect it but Taehyung just looked at her with a blank stare and started walking away.
"Ya! Wait! I'm not stupid!" She said as she tried to stop Taehyung from going to Jaejin's room by throwing a pillow at him.
"Noona?" Soobin was waving his hand in front of my face. "Are you okay? We've been saying 'noona' over and over again."
"Huh? Sorry, what were we talking about again?" Heejin asked, confused.
"Beomgyu was saying that Taehyung-sunbaenim was lucky to have seen you dance while you were growing up." Soobin explained.
"Nah. I'm the one who's lucky to be his childhood friend!" Heejin said.
"Noona, you're blushing." Taehyun quietly pointed out.
"She was probably thinking about a certain someone again." Kai teased while the rest chimed in with 'Taehyung-sunbaenim' in a sing-songy tone.
Ignoring Kai's comment, Heejin put her hands together, trying to keep a straight face. "Okay. Let's start from the top." She said, breaking into a laugh which made the boys laugh as well.
"Aish! Seriously, you have a live tomorrow! We have to practice." Heeyeon said seriously and the boys went back to practice.
