Monday came and Jaemin went wherever Donghyuck went. The tanned male at first was quite surprised by the action but then started to make flirty jokes like ❛oh, you fell for me now, didn't you~❜
But as soon as Hyuck saw the latter's rather gloomy face, he stopped, stared for a minute or two and then hugged him tightly.
He might have not known what went on inside Jaemin's mind, but he had hung around the pink haired long enough to know that the eyes were a window to his soul, and on that day it seemed like Jaemin's soul had left his body.
At often times he looked tired and emotionless, then completely dead. So Donghyuck did what he was the best at– giving affection.
Three boys were sitting at the cafeteria, Hyuck's arm around Jaemin's waist, trying to make as much skinship as possible. Mark was next to to his boyfriend, eyeing the two carefully.
The first thing he thought of was that he did or said something wrong again and was afraid to even touch the other's hand. But that wasn't even near the case.
Jaemin didn't take any food, since he wasn't feeling like eating, although the male beside him often tried to feed him.
The arm around him actually felt nice. Jaemin knew that this time all of the affection was meant well.
❝come on , jaeminnie, only one bite! Or a sip from the strawberry milk? Please just eat something.❞ Donghyuck almost begged. Jaemin hadn't eaten anything that day and he was concerned.
❝hyuck, i told you, I'm not hungry.❞
❝and i told you to call me hyukie. Just one single bite, it's really good.❞
❝if you won't take this I'll take it in my mouth and feed it to you by kissing you. I'm serious, may i add.❞
To that Jaemin turned his head away.
Donghyuck took the food in his mouth, unwrapped his arm around from Jaemin's waist and took a hold of his cheeks bringing the others face close to his.
The pinkette came back to reality and started to fight back, but it was no use as Mark had already gotten between the two.
❝donghyuck! I don't accept this behavior, if Jaemin doesn't want it, then feed me instead!❞
Mark couldn't even lie, he got jealous looking at how Hyuck was so lovely dovey with Jaemin. Them kissing unintentionally was the least that he wanted to see.
❝And i told you to call me love. What is up with you all today?❞
Renjun from another table had seen the scene happen before him, and he was quite confused. Was Jeno right?
If Jaemin and Donghyuck were together, then Jaemin would have let the other kiss him any time no matter the circumstances. He knew his friend was open to all kinds of loving touches and affection if he was close with that person.
When Renjun and Jaemin were on good terms, the pink haired always let the older kiss his cheeks when they were going to sleep. He had even admitted that he loved the given pecks.
❝you weren't lying after all...❞ Renjun said with a sad tone.
❝why would i lie to you?❞ Jeno asked. He thought he had proven his point the day they discussed the topic.
❝i don't know. I'm so sorry❞
❝hey, don't apologise. Are you still going to confront Jaemin today?❞
Renjun shaked his head.
❝not at school. I still have some flowers to get. Besides, i don't want to do anything in public.❞
Jeno nodded and bit into his sandwich. Eyes drifting to the half full glass at the corner of the table, as an instinct the younger placed it more to the center not wanting the item to fall and make a mess.
❝may i have a bite too?❞
That surprised Jeno, making him raise his brows, yet handing the comfort food to Renjun with no complaints.
The older first just stared at it, then bit into the exact place Jeno had.
The latter blushed. It was an indirect kiss, and Renjun probably didn't even know it, but to Jeno the fact was showstopping.
It might have been obvious, but Jeno has had a crush on Renjun for the longest time. When the older started to hang out with him more each day he felt as God had blessed him. The feeling of Renjun beside him was better than anything. And now seeing his crush eating the sandwich from the same spot his lips had touched really made his heart race.
But reality was that Renjun loved Jaemin. Jeno had known it since the beginning. When Donghyuck acted as a boyfriend around Jaemin, he hoped that Renjun would forget about those feelings and look at Jeno in a new light. That didn't happen. If anything, then Renjun became heartbroken, unreachable, although it was him who let them both become distant.
Now all three were suffering. Feelings that were so pure were abused as no one made a move. Jaemin was the closest to speaking his mind, yet Renjun didn't arrive to the place he needed to be at for all the mishaps to be cleared.
The older was stress eating. The sandwich he only asked a bite of ended up all in his mouth and he didn't even notice it happening. Not like Jeno minded, seeing Renjun eat made him happy.
Renjun's mind was full of worries. He had no idea what flowers to get. Getting some chocolate also crossed his mind. But then again, did Jaemin prefer kiwis? He wasn't sure. Suddely he forgot the pink haired's favourite flower as well. Was it lilies? Tulips? No idea. A safe choice would have been roses, if Jaemin weren't afraid of them.

In class Mark let Hyuck and Jaemin sit together, while he himself sat next to Yangyang. He didn't mind that, he was actually more than happy to make his friend feel better by such a simple request.
The sun sprawled its rays all over the floor, warming up their feet. As Donghyuck rested his hand on Jaemin's thigh, the pink haired felt somewhat safe in that environment.
The biology teacher talked about how starting a herbarium in spring was the best time, as all the flowers started to bloom and it was easier to collect all of them growing near the living space when all the seasons were going by.
Jaemin loved the idea of collecting all different types of flowers and keeping them in a notebook or such, it seemed like a perfect idea for a date– going out to a meadow to pick flowers with their roots and wondering what type the plant is.
His heart craved to do that with Renjun, but he knew that the older was busy with Jeno, doing whatever they were doing. Maybe he could convince Jisung and Chenle? But then he would probably be a third wheel. It was a struggle , since he didn't want to go alone either.
Donghyuck noticed how the other often spaced out. It bothered him that he had no idea why Jaemin acted like that, a big part of him wished that all of the pinkette's worries would just disappear. Seeing anyone so down low wasn't a pleasnt sight.
Hyuck knew what it felt to be neglected by someone he loved. His and Mark's relationship at first would have definitely been considered as toxic, as the older actually didn't have any positive thoughts on him. They never went on dates and most of the times they were together they argued, to the point that Hyuck decided to go to Jaemin to show his love.
Seeing the boy get flustered and all cuddly whenever Hyuck hugged or teased him was probably the brightest of moments during any relationship he ever had and Jaemin and him weren't even dating. He and mark were.
Mark had seen how the pair acted around each other that it made him realise how shit he had treated his boyfriend and how Hyuck's attention on Jaemin actually made him jealous to the core.
He only admitted that to Jeno, as he knew that the raventte could have never made a joke out of that.
Somehow watching Donghyuck in a distance made his heart race and palms sweat, as if he was about to confess to his crush. And that he did.
One day Mark decided to heal the wounds he made by confessing to his love properly. He did it the traditional way, by serenading. Mark went by the only thing he knew about Hyuck, and it was that the younger loved romantic things, so he tried his best to be that. Their first ever date was a picnic that Donghyuck loved so much he asked Mark to bring him there again. After all of that the couple's relationship has been the strongest. Both supporting each other as much as possible, by having trust and loyalty.
Donghyuck wished that Jaemin's problem would be solved just like his, so that the pink haired could be back to his happy self.
