I was staring out of the window, feeling my heart ready to beat out of my chest, as we pulled into the driveway of my childhood home. Nothing had changed about this place, besides the freshly cut grass and newly planted flowers, but other then that...this was home.
"This place is nice!" Elliot voice, as he stared out of the window. "This makes our parents house look like an apartment!" I laughed a little, as the car came to a complete stop. Christian grabbed my hand and brought it up to his lips, gently kissing my fingers, which made me feel a little better about him being here with me.
Langston Manor
"Welcome to Langston Manor." I spoke, as Wes opened the car door for me. I climbed out and stretched, waiting for Christian, Elliot, and Audrey to get out of the car as well. "I just want to apologize in advance for my siblings, because they are going to embarrass me and they never watch what they say."
"Sounds like my kind of family."
"You say that now, but wait until you meet them. You'll be running for the hills." Audrey joked, as we started laughing. "No, I'm kidding. Her family is like a second family to me and I love every single one of them, but I just so happen to love this one more."
"What a coincidence. So does my brother." Elliot chuckled, making both me and Christian glance at him. "Whoa, did I say something wrong? What? You two aren't in love yet? Could've fooled me. Are we going inside or what?" If looks could kill, Elliot would've dropped dead right about now, especially the way Christian was glaring at him. I grabbed Christian's hand and led the way up the stairs, towards the front door. Without having to knock, the door opened, as we were greeted by the house butler.
"Good afternoon, Miss Destiny."
"Good afternoon, David. How are you?" I smiled.
"I'm find, ma'am, and you?" He asked.
"I'm great." We stepped into the house, as the familiar aroma of some good food, filled my nostrils. I feel like I haven't been home in forever, which I haven't, and it felt really good to be back in a familiar setting.
"Oh shoot, Destiny is that you?" Elliot asked, as he walked over to a picture of me when I was younger. I was a skinny, short little thing, with two bushy pigtails, and my front two teeth were missing. I had successfully made it through my first dance recital, winning first place, as I held up my gold medal. "Awwww, look how cute you were!"
"Unfortunately." I murmured. "And I was far from cute."
"You were adorable." Christian smiled, as he stared at the picture. "Missing teeth and all."
"Don't sweet talk me. We all know I look a busted up mess, but let's get away from these photos before I die of embarrassment." We headed towards the kitchen, where I heard my mom and Demi singing along to the music that was playing. "Well isn't this like old times." Demi gasped and rushed over to me, throwing her arms around me and hugging me tight.
"Finally! I thought you'd never get here!" She shrieked. "And this must be the infamous Christian Grey I've heard so much about. Hi, I'm Demi."
"Nice to meet you, Demi." Christian spoke, as they shook hands. "I hope you don't mind, Mrs. Langston, but Elliot wanted to tag along."
"Of course I don't mind. It's good to see you again, Elliot, and please...call me Deanna or Dee." My mom smiled.
"Nice to see you again too, Mrs...er...Dee." Elliot said, as I motioned for them to sit down.
"And why haven't my daughters given me a proper hello yet?" Audrey and I walked around the counter and gave my mom a tight hug, which made me feel a little better, despite everything that was going on at the moment. "You feel a little tense, baby. Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, everything's fine." I lied. "I've just been a little stressed out, but I'll be okay."
"Well mommy is treating me to a spa day as an early graduation present, so you should join us!" Demi said.
"You as in us or....just Destiny?" Audrey spoke, making me laugh. Of course, Audrey was considered family since we grew up together, so it didn't surprise me that she wanted to get in on a free spa day.
"You're more then welcomed to join, Audrey. As a matter of fact, you should invite all your friends, that way I won't be surrounded by teenage girls all day. Plus, your Aunt Nia has been dying to see you, so I figured we can have a girls day."
"I'm down for it."
"Yeah, me too." I said, taking a seat next to Christian.
"You know...you two are really cute together! Mama, you were right. He is a handsome white man." Demi said, making my jaw hit the fucking floor! Please tell me she didn't just say that. Oh...my...God! Christian looked as if he wanted to laugh, but he never did; all while Elliot and Audrey were cracking up!
"Demetria Jane, I know you didn't just say that!" Our mom snapped. "I apologize Christian, I didn't say that at all. Well, I did say you were handsome, but I didn't bring your skin color into it."
"Well I'm officially embarrassed. Where is everybody else?" I asked.
"Your dad and brothers are outside playing basketball ball, Stassie and Megan went to the grocery store for me, and the kids are upstairs watching a movie. Desiree won't be back until dinner time, since she wasn't feeling all too well."
"Yeah, the fear of having to face you for the first time in God knows how long made her sick to her stomach." Demi laughed, as our mom glared at her. "Oops, my bad. It was the pregnancy symptoms or whatever."
"This child here..." We heard our mom mumble. "Please excuse my youngest baby girl. Unlike my two oldest girls, this one didn't get the Langston sense!" Our mom said, as Demi's mouth dropped a little. I giggled and stood up, nudging for Christian and Elliot to follow me.
"Well...on that note....I'm going to go say hi to dad and the boys." I said. "By the way, is the pool house unlocked?"
"Yes, everything is squared away, but a little heads up...your dad won't let you stay in the pool house with your guests."
"Seriously?"
"I know, I know. I tried to reason with him, but you know how your dad is. In his eyes, you're still his baby girl, so just bear with him, please." She said, making me roll my eyes.
"Fine." I grumbled. I pulled open the sliding door and stepped out, seeing my dad and brothers having an intense game of basketball. I smiled, watching as Devin and Devon would do their silly little secret plays, trying to pull one over on dad and Demetrius; even though Dem was one step ahead of them both. "I got next, right?"
"THERE SHE IS!" Both Devin and Devon shouted, running up to me. Devin reached me first, picking me up off of my feet, and spinning me around. Once I was back on my feet, Devon pulled me in a tight hug, before I moved on and hugged Demetrius.
"We've been waiting on you to get here. How was your flight?" My dad asked, giving me a hug.
"It was good. I slept the entire time." I smirked.
"That's nothing new. You could never stay awake during a flight, no matter how short or how long the flight is. How you doing, Christian? Good to see you again. You too, Elliot." My dad shook both Christian and Elliot's hand, while my brothers glared at them both.
"So you gon introduce us or what?" Devin questioned, making me roll my eyes.
"Guys, this is my boyfriend Christian and his brother Elliot. Guys, these are my brothers Devin, Devon, and Demetrius." I said, introducing them. They shook hands and spoke a few words, before the brief interrogation began.
"So...I never knew you were down with the swirl sis." Devin smirked. "All those times you joked on me for dating white girls, and now it's my turn!"
"Okay, so on that note I'm going to go show them the pool house, and we will see you all at dinnertime." I quickly cut the conversation short, because I knew exactly where this was going to go.
"Your mama told you what we discussed, didn't she?" My dad asked.
"Yep, she just told me. I'll catch up with you all in a little bit." I walked across the yard, stopping for a split second to look at the sparkling pool, before I proceeded into the pool house. "So this is it. The pool house, which I'm hoping is to you guys liking."
"Are you kidding me? This place is perfect." Elliot grinned, plopping down on the plush sofa. "This couch feels like a cloud!"
"Well you enjoy the couch, while I show Christian to one of the bedrooms." I said, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the back. "I'm sorry I won't be able to stay in here with you, but I don't know why I didn't see it coming. My dad has always been imperious, just like a certain domineering man that I know." He smirked and closed the door behind him, walking up to me, as he grabbed my face and kissed me long and hard.
"You don't have to apologize baby. Like you said...absence makes the heart grow fonder." He said, as I giggled.
"Oh, so you're quoting me now?"
"You're a wise woman, Ms. Langston. I'd quote you any day." My smile widened, as I was about to wrap my arms around his neck, but I stopped myself. I could tell he was relieved that I didn't touch him, which sorta hurt my feelings, but I didn't let it show.
"Sorry...I keep forgetting." I murmured. I dropped my hands down to my side, pulling my phone out of my back pocket. "So um...I'm going to leave you guys to get settled, but dinner is at seven so don't be late."
"Baby..." He began, but I cut him off by kissing his lips.
"It's fine. I'll see you in a little while." I faked a smile, as I turned and walked out of the room, stopping to say bye to Elliot; but he was passed out on the couch. I giggled and shook my head, heading back towards the house, so I could shower and take a quick nap before dinner. Though everything was fine at the moment, I couldn't shake the fact that something bad was going to happen, and usually I'm never wrong about these types of things. Aside from seeing Desiree tonight, I knew she was the least of my worries. Kelis and Deron, on the other hand, were going to be the ones I had to keep an eye on.
