Stiles' grip on the wheel tightened, his knuckles turning white. He took in a shaky breath, biting down on his tongue as he calmed himself. "Do you think this has to do with the animals?" Stiles asked quietly, Emma releasing a sigh of relief. She had never seen Stiles that quiet in a long time, unless he was sleeping. Derek made a noise between a groan and a sigh, Emma's eyes finding him in the review mirror. He was rubbing his forehead as the stress was getting to him.
"Yeah. Yeah I think it's directly related. I also think it has to do with the alpha pack coming to town" Derek mentioned, Emma shivering at that thought. "You know what? Let's focus on finding Erica and Boyd. Take it one step at a time" Derek said, trying to take his mind off of the impending danger. Emma watched as Stiles' eyes became watery for the imminent loss of his friend. She wasn't found dead yet, but Stiles wasn't stupid. Emma lifted his hand and kissed it, leaving it to rest in her lap where she ran her thumbs over his knuckles.
The rest of the car ride was quiet, tension and fear in the air. Derek could practically smell it. They were all relieved when they had arrived at the Animal Clinic. Emma took a nervous breath as they approached the building, smoothing out her dress. Emma pushed through the door, instantly enclosed in Isaac arms.
"I missed you" Isaac murmured, his voice muffled by Emma's shoulder. Emma smiled as she stood on her tip toes, allowing her to see over his shoulder. They rocked back and forth, her hand rubbing circles on his back.
"I heard about your night mares. I'm sorry I wasn't there" Emma spoke softly, leaning her head against his. Isaac pulled away, hands resting on her shoulders as he stared into her eyes, a smile on his face.
"I'm just glad you're okay" he smiled, squeezing her shoulders. Emma nodded, watching his nervous eyes flick around the room. She could now see how nervous he was for this; this act of sacrifice for his pack members. Emma looked down as Isaac grabbed onto her hand, squeezing tightly. Scott joined them, patting Emma on the back as they walked into the back room, Isaac gulping as he saw the bucket full of ice. His hand tightened on Emma's, her thumb slowly running over his knuckles.
"You don't have to do this if you don't want to" Emma reminded him, Isaac nodding as he took a deep breath.
"I know, but I have to. It's the only way to save them" He nodded before pulling of his shirt, letting go of her hand as he stood over the bucket. Deaton placed Emma, Stiles, Derek and Scott around the bucket, preparing them for what they would have to do.
"You guys have to push him under water. When he gets into the state close to death, I will ask him questions. But only me. Too many voices will confuse him. Understand?" Deaton instructed, everyone nodding with tense expressions.
Isaac took in a deep breath as he stepped into the ice bucket, slowly lowering himself down. He began to shake as he became submerged, letting out deep, shaky breaths. He looked up at Emma, his eyes glimmering with fear. She gave him a tight smile, nodding with the promise that he'd be okay. "Now" Deaton said, the four pushing Isaac under the icy water. Isaac thrashed around, reaching up as he tried to get up. He shook from side to side, water sloshing over the sides of the bucket.
Emma clenched her eyes shut, unable to watch Isaac fight for air. His freezing body stilled under her hand, her brown eyes going wide. Everyone slowly drew back their hands, watching as Isaac floated to the surface, his calm face resurfacing.
"Isaac, can you hear me?" Deaton asked in a calm and quiet tone. Everyone was silent, the air tense with suspense.
"Yes" Isaac whispered, his lips purple. "I can hear you"
"This is Dr. Deaton. I'd like to ask you a few questions, is that alright?" Deaton asked, looking around at the nervous faces that stared down at Isaac.
Isaac gave a little nod, his teeth chattering slightly. "Yes" Isaac answered, his eyes shut. Deaton looked around at everyone, taking a deep breath. Derek watched with an intense stare, desperate to find Erica and Boyd.
"I want to ask you about the night you found Erica and Boyd". Emma jumped as lightening flashed, illuminating the dark room for a brief moment. Deaton shook of the coincidence, turning back to Isaac. "I want you to describe it in as much detail as possible. Like you're actually there again"
"I don't wanna do that" Isaac mumbled as the lights flickered, casting a foreboding shadow on his face. "I don't want to do that. I don't want to that" his voice grew louder as he began to tremble, his words soaked with fear.
"It's alright. They're just memories they can't hurt you" Deaton soothed, but Isaac wasn't having it.
"I don't wanna do that" Isaac practically yelled as he became hysterical. Derek and Scott put their hands on him, making sure he stayed in the water. Emma pressed her hand over her mouth, fighting every instinct in her that told her to pull him from the water.
"It's alright. You're okay" Deaton repeated until Isaac calmed back down. Emma reached out to comfort him but Deaton stopped her, reminding her what he had said early. Emma nodded as she slowly pulled her hand back.
"Now, let's go back to that night. The night you found Erica and Boyd" Deaton said more calm this time. Isaac took a deep breath, stilling once again. "Is there a building or a house?" Deaton questioned, Derek gnawing nervously on his lip.
"It's-it's not a-a house" Isaac stuttered, shaking his head softly."It's stone. Thick marble" he whispered, his voice wavering.
"That's perfect" Deaton encouraged, his eyes bright with hope. "Can you give me any other descriptors?" Deaton asked, hoping to gain more clues to Erica's and Boyd's location.
"It's dusty. It's a-a empty" Isaac murmured, struggling to repeat the facts. Stiles glanced across the tub at Emma who watched with worried eyes. He turned back to Isaac as Deaton continued asking questions.
"Like an abandoned building?" Deaton asked as Isaac remained quiet. The lights began to flicker as Isaac became unresponsive, his eyes moving back and forth under his eyelids. "Isaac?" Deaton asked again as Isaac began to tremble violently. "Isaac?" Deaton said louder this time, a cry escaping Isaac. .
"They found me" Isaac cried out, reaching up as he grabbed Emma's arm, yanking her towards him. Emma looked up at Deaton with wide panicked eyes, Isaac's fingers digging into her arm. "They-they found me" he shook, his words desperate for safety.
"Isaac relax" Deaton tried to calm him but Isaac was inconsolable.
"No! No! No, they see me! They see me!" he began to shout, thrashing around as water filled his mouth. He gripped harder onto Emma, Stiles stepping forward as he watched her since. Isaac screamed, crying out as fear controlled him.
"Just memories. You can't be hurt by memories. Just relax" Deaton soothed, Isaac finally calming down. He went still, hanging onto Emma. "Good" Deaton said when Isaac stilled, looking around as the air had become more tense than before. Something really bad had happened to Isaac. "Now tell us what you see" Deaton requested before Isaac's eyes began moving under his eyelids. Isaac began to flash back, his eyes opening.
"I hear him" Isaac breathed, his eyes crystal blue. "He's talking about the full moon. About- about being out of control when the moon rises" he continued, referring to Boyd.
"Is he talking to Erica?" Deaton asked, trying to keep Isaac calm. He knew he was on the border of something very bad, and he wanted to get as much information as he could before Isaac slipped.
"I-I think so. I-I can't see her" Isaac shook with chills. "I can't-I can't see either of them" he shivered, his hand loosening slightly on Emma's arm. Emma's eyes met Stiles', a worried look on her face.
"Can you hear anything else?" Deaton asked, glancing up at Derek who watched with narrowed eyes.
"They're worried" Isaac said in a shockingly calm tone. "Worried what they'll do during the full moon. They're worried that their going to hurt each other"
Derek's eyes went wide as he looked up to the pack. "They're going to tear each other apart if they're locked up together during a full moon" Derek released, Scott nodding in agreement as Emma felt queasy.
"Isaac" Deaton said loudly, catching his attention. "We need to find them right now. Can you see them?" he asked, a new sense determination in his words.
"No" Isaac said quickly, shaking his head.
"Do you know what kind of room it is?" Deaton asked desperate for any details Isaac can remember. "Is there any kind of a marker? A number on a door?" Deaton questioned before Isaac suddenly sprung up, inhaling sharply.
"They're here" he whispered, Stiles glancing over his shoulder at the empty doorway; the office was empty. "They're here. They're here" he cried as he hung on Emma's arm, falling back into the ice. He thrashed around, as if trying to escape them.
"It's alright" Deaton tried but Isaac was in a panic, Deaton's words lost to him.
"No. No they're here!" Isaac moaned in a voice between a whisper and a cry. "They see me! They found me! They're here!" he began shouting, the water splashing onto the floor as Emma got yanked closer to the tub. Derek looked at Deaton, his eyebrows furrowed with worried as he realized that they were almost out of time.
"This isn't working" he muttered, turning to Isaac. "Isaac, where are you?" Derek asked, Emma's eyes going wide in frustration as she knew that this was dangerous. Too many voices would confuse him.
"No! I can't see them it's too dark!" Isaac screamed cutting him off, Emma's arm plunging into the ice water as Isaac tugged on her.
"Tell me where you are!" Derek tried to yell over Isaac who kept yelling 'I can't see them its too dark!'. Isaac was working himself up, his cries becoming louder and more desperate.
"You're confusing him" Deaton scolded but Derek ignored him, being as stubborn as he is. He leaned over the bucket, hoping that Isaac would respond.
"Isaac where are you?" he said in a firm voice as Emma tried to calm him down, but this time it wasn't working. Flashbacks flew through Isaac's mind, making him feel as if he was back in the moment. "Tell me where you are!" Derek shouted, frustrated that his two beta were still lost to them.
"Stop! He could go into shock!" Deaton said loudly, Emma using her free hand to tug on Derek's arm. She couldn't let him hurt Isaac, even if it was an accident.
"Derek let him go!" Scott shouted as Derek ignored all of them. He was so focused on finding Erica and Boyd he had forgotten how much danger Isaac was in.
"Isaac where are you?! What did you see?!" Derek continued to yell, Emma grabbing Derek tightly as she pulled on his arm, trying to get him to stop.
Incoherent words flew out of Isaac's mouth at a rapid pace as Derek continued to yell, until suddenly it hit. "It's a vault! It's a bank vault!" Isaac shouted suddenly, sitting up. "I saw it!" Isaac breathed, now fully back in reality. "I saw the name" Isaac looked around at his pack members who wore solemn faces.
"Here, c'mon" Emma spoke softly as she helped him up, wrapping him in a towel. He collapsed into her lap on the ground, weak from the memories. Emma rubbed his back, leaning her head against his. "It's Beacon Hills Memorial bank. It's an abandoned bank. They're keeping them locked inside the vault" he blubbered, Emma nodding as she gently rocked him back and forth.
"Shh, you did a good job" she hummed, calming him down. He nodded, instantly feeling warmer in her arms. He looked around, confused as the pack members didn't look so amused. His eyebrows knitted together in confusion before he looked up at Emma. She wore a somber expression, her eyes dark.
"What?" he asked, his mind a muddled mess. Stiles moved over near Emma, watching him sadly as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"You don't remember what you said before you came out of it, do you?" Stiles asked as Isaac looked at Emma. He shook his head, water dripping from his hair.
"No" he shook, a tired sigh escaping Stiles. Isaac looked to Derek who's arms were crossed over his chest, a dark shadow casted over his face.
"You said that when they captured you, they dragged you into a room and that there was a body in it" Stiles began, Isaac tensing as he again, grabbed onto Emma's arm.
"What body?" he whispered, still in the dark. Stiles looked down at his feet, darkness tugging at his heart.
"Erica" he said. "You said it was Erica". Isaac leaned into Emma's neck suddenly feeling sick. He shook in her arms, Emma remaining quiet as she rubbed his back. Derek shook his head in frustration, anger bubbling inside.
"She's not dead!" Derek shouted, Stiles rolling his eyes. He was sad about it too, but there was no reason for denial.
"He said there was a dead body! Erica's! That doesn't leave much room for interpretation" Stiles argued as Derek threw his hands up in the air. Derek bit his lip, shaking his head angrily.
"Than who's in the vault with him?" Derek asked frustratedly, Stiles shrugging his shoulders with wide tired eyes.
"I don't know!" Stiles shouted, Isaac thinking back on it as he was desperate to help. He wanted to make up for the delivery of the bad news.
"All I know is that she was like us. A were wolf that is" Isaac informed them, Derek crossing his arms as he settled against the wall, deep in thought.
"Then we're getting them out" he nodded, determination glimmering in his eyes. "Tonight"
