Finally sunday arrived. I would face Claudia in the main event of tonight's pay-per-view. I felt nervous but for the sake of my family I was sure I could do anything.
"You'll be fine." Jon encouraged me while we were waiting in our locker room for my que.
Daemon was with my brothers for the day so that Jon and I could focus on my match.
"I know, I just don't want to make the mistake of underestimating your sister. She might be a bitch but she can wrestle."
"I know, you've beaten her twice already though."
"Both of those times were different, there is much more at stake this time around."
"Yeah, I know" Jon sighs solemnly before a knock on the door interrupted our conversation.
I opened it to find to my surprise that it had been Joe who had been knocking.
"What do you want? You dirty backstabber." I sneered at him, still pissed at his part in all of this.
"I know, I just came to say something."
"What, are you going to tell us any more lies?" Jon asks with venom in his tone as he stood behind me.
"I came to apologise actually. After I saw you with your son it got me thinking and I realised how wrong this all was."
"You should have thought of that from the start."
"I know. It's just that I really love Claudia and I just wanted to make her happy. I know it was wrong but people sometimes do stupid things in the name of love. Although I admit that this was extremely stupid. Anyway that's all I wanted to say, again I am really sorry. I'll leave you two alone now." Joe honestly looked like he was sorry as he turned to leave.
"Wait." I stopped him. "I know one or two things about doing stupid things in the name of love. I mean I do get that. I'm not sure if I can actually ever forgive you for what this situation put Daemon trough but I can offer some understanding on the matter. I probably wont ever really trust you again and if you really are sorry then I hope that you will show us that eventually."
Joe nodded, still looking defeated but at least I hoped that I gave him something to think about.

Soon the time for my match had come. As champion I had to enter the ring first so Jon ensured me that he would watch my back from the gorilla position.
My entrance hit and I walked out. I got a huge pop from the crowd, happy that they seemed to be on my side in this fight.
I stepped into the ring as soon as I had reached it and waited for Claudia to enter the ring.
Claudia looked at me in disgust as she walked down the ramp. She knew just as well as I did that at this moment this was the most important match in both of our careers. it would be sink or swim this time as there was no rematch, no way to redeem yourself if this went bad. This would be the very last match for one of us.
--
Twenty minutes into the match I was nowhere closer to winning. Just like I expected, Claudia put up a hard fight and she was tough as nails. I might hate the bitch but I had to respect her in ring abilities.
We were still going back and forth when suddenly she had knocked me off my feet. Already pretty worn out by the previous 20 or so minutes of fighting like my life depended on it, which in this case it kinda did, I had a tough time getting back to my feet.
Too late I noticed that Claudia had grabbed a steel chair from underneath the ring, and was about to smash it over my head. The only thing I could do quickly enough at that point was to brace myself for impact and hope that the chair wouldn't cause any heavy or permanent damage. However... the blow to my head never came.
Looking up from my position I saw that someone had pulled the chair out of Claudia's Hands and to my surprise it was Joe who had done so.
"What is Roman doing here?" I heard michael yell loudly from commentary. "It seems like he is helping Nika defeat his own girlfriend Helix."
"What the hell are you doing!?" Claudia exclaimed angrily at Joe and completely getting distracted.
"I'm sorry babygirl, but I can't let you win this match. Not like this."
Taking advantage of the distraction, I rolled Claudia up schoolgirl style for the pin.
Joe just stood there, allowing the referee to count to three and raising my hand.
"Why?" I asked him, glad yet confused that he had helped me win against the girl he loved so much.
"You said to prove that I was sorry and besides, I hope that she will get back to being the sweet girl I fell for in the first place once she gets away from all the competition and drama that is wrestling."
"Do you really think I will still love you after this? I am furious at you, I hate you." Claudia threw a fit. "I never want to see you again. Not that I could since I wont be allowed to come near this place anymore now.
"That won't be much of an obstacle, as of the end of this pay-per-view I officially resign."
"You didn't have to do that." I told him, not having expected him to quit.
"Yes I do, I was just as much to blame for this. Now go, they are waiting for you backstage."
