Chloe still couldn't place the woman Lucifer kept calling Lilly. "I'm sorry," she said. "I'm not an avid churchgoer and I don't really believe in God."
The face of the woman before her lit up. "I like you even more now." She stuck her arm under Chloe's and led her to the couch where they sat down. Chloe started to get starry eyed again in the close proximity of the siren. "I bet you believe in the Devil."
"Hello!" Lucifer called for their attention as he took a seat on Chloe's right side and broke the compulsion. "Lilith is Adams first wife, so an old friend," he emphasized with a grumpy tone.
Chloe's face revealed that she had heard the name and finally managed put it in the right place. Her companions missed the wide eyed expression as they playfully argued about who was the eldest.
"Have you seen Eve?" Chloe interrupted.
Lilith looked surprised at her. "Why would I? It's not that we play the same scene." The dark haired beauty smirked.
"For some reason she is here on earth," Lucifer explained.
"Why?"
"Yes, that's what we're trying to figure out."
"She must have ended up in heaven." Lilith flicked a lock of hair over her shoulder while she thought it over. "People tend to see that as a final stop."
"Yes, so I've heard, but it must have decayed since I left," Lucifer deduced. "I mean even dad has fled the place."
"Dad?" she smiled incredulous, "You mean the big Gee-Oh-Dee is walking around in his playground?" Lilith laughed a teasing but still alluring laugh. "I can't wait to speak my mind with that chauvinist."
"I don't think anyone has ever called him that."
"I have plausible cause."
Lilith had offered to find her replacement in Eden and then left. The amorous plan Lucifer and Chloe had wished for was gone by then and the evening instead turned into a q&a about the olden days.

Chloe was certain that the siren called Lilith had stood them up, and that opinion of hers was strengthened for each day that passed. In the middle of this crisis of heaven and earth, surprisingly little seemed to be noticed between the humans, Chloe reflected. The sun rose in the morning and set in the evening.
No apocalypse in sight.
Lucifer had assigned his assistance to the celestial department of crisis and Chloe had no real need for a wayward civilian consultant in the position she was now.
"Dan," she hurried out the door as she caught sight of him. "How's the case of the hit and run proceeding?"
"Hi Clo, it's hitting off." He ran her the info on the current case. "So we're just heading over to question the witness again."
"That's great Dan." Charlottes death felt so far away but was still very much present in Dan's life, that was clear to Chloe however much he tried to hide it. She wanted to hug him but refrained from doing so.
Ella saw the encounter from her lab and sighed. "That man sure need a new love in his life."
"Interested?"
Ella jumped startled. "Jeeze," she huffed out with a hand over her heart. "Are you deliberately trying to scare me to death?" She glared at her old friend.
"Scare you to death?" Azrael raised her brows slightly as if wondering what Ella even said. "Angel of death here," she shrugged. "Luckily I'm not here to reap you," the friend smiled. The frown from Ella lured a snicker out of Azrael. "Oh come on, where's your sense of humor? It's not nice spying on people like that."
"Look who's talking," Ella huffed indignant.
"How else would I know anything about you? It's not like you invite me in like you did when you where young," Azrael complained.
"Yeah, and where did that get me? The loony bin is where."
Azrael sighed. "You were so caring when you were a child. I remember you pulling me aside at your parents' car crash to spare my feelings."
The breath got caught in Ella's throat. It was true that she had tried to hide the horror of the accident site from RaeRae, imagining that they were almost the same age then. What a mistake that had been. Ella was searching for a way to apologize when RayRay interrupted.
"I'm here to keep an eye on my brother," Azrael said while following said brother who just walked into the precinct, passing outside the lab's glass wall.
Lucifer strode into the precinct with the same air of nonchalance and belonging that he had that first day. Why wouldn't the devil belong here? Without a knock on the door he stepped into Chloe's new office. "Hello luv."
"Oh Lucifer." Chloe looked up from the paperwork in front of her. "How good you came." She was just about to pull the cliffnote version of Dan's case when the door flung open with a bang.
"Is this where I'll collect money for this bounty?" Lilith smiled glib with her hand casually in Eve's. The look on Eve's face didn't scream docility but it took a closer look to notice the black cuffs that connected the two.
Lucifer quickly looked around to see if anyone had noticed them before steering them brusquely towards the emergency stairs. "You can't bring her here," he hissed fervently. "Everyone's looking for her."
Chloe hurried after them as they rushed down the stairs to the parking floor. "We better get her out of here." With Chloe's new position as team leader of the precinct came a sleek new car with dark tinted windows and they quickly slid into it and sped off. Where could an inconspicuous hearing be held with a Lieutenant posing apocalyptic crisis?
"Turn left and then up the hills," Lucifer guided as Chloe maneuvered the car in the mid day traffic. Her mind had been working on overdrive for some time now and needed the guidance. They stopped by a house Cloe hadn't been at before, but it was clear that Lucifer owned it.
"How many real estates do you own," Chloe hissed as they guided the two women into the house.
"I'm not sure, but they do come in handy when questioning the two first women on earth, don't you agree?"
Chloe didn't know what to answer, all she did was exhale with a sarcastic look upwards.
Like the other estates of Lucifer's Chloe had seen, this too was exquisite. Shiny surfaces opened up into vast spaces she noticed as they stalked in. The most impressive detail though Chloe thought, was the view over the ocean. Once again the ability to enjoy the sunset was what Chloe valued high on the list.
"Now talk!" Lilith growled as she slumped down on the couch with Eve right after. At that moment the resemblance to Maze struck Chloe who slumped down in the armchair feeling like a spectator.
"Okay, okay..."
"Are you going to keep up with the silly 'it was the snake' explanation," Lucifer barked out. "Take responsibility for your own actions!"
Eve frowned, obviously feeling a little guilty of being caught. "Sorry."
"But why?"
"Why what,"
"Why leave heaven," Chloe elaborated, unable to understand.
"Nine hundred and thirty years and the same man," the woman exclaimed. "Forgive me for seeking a little change. It's not as if heaven is a huge swingers party."
Chloe's mouth fell open with surprise. Wasn't Adam and Eve the perfect couple; content with each other's companionship and the ultimate love story? The last of that train of thought was uttered aloud and Eve stared at her.
"Ultimate love story?" The blond woman questioned. "What choice did I have?"
Chloe frowned, that was true. The phrase 'even if you were the last person on earth' went through her head. She had certainly met quite a few that had gotten into that category. What if you were the first two persons on earth? What choice did you have then?
"He had already been dumped once when I showed up," Eve reminded them with a glance towards Lilith. "Not that anyone bothered to tell me that."
"Sorry, I wasn't allowed to stick around and downtalk any of the male entities." Lilith frowned. "I was heading to a much warmer place."
Lucifer sighed. "Stop whining! Why are you here?"
Eve stopped and gave him a sultry look. Her intentions were clear and a chill went through Chloe. A flash of memory from the investigation of Jana's murder, where a long line of lovers queuing across the precinct rushed through Chloe's mind.
Lucifer wouldn't have it. "Forget it, I am not available." He turned and walked out on the patio, fishing a cigarette out from the case, lighting it and inhaling edgy. The nerve of that woman he thought bitter. Why would she see him as such a man-slut? He pulled another deep breath of nicotine into his lungs and felt calmed. Why would that work he asked himself, drugs never really did the trick for him, due to the pesky mortality. Chloe's name went through his head, she was nearby.
Chloe sat in the armchair listening to the two women on the couch complaining about their treatment. "But that was eons ago," she huffed irritated. "Get over it!"
Lucifer had difficulties at holding the smile off. He stubbed the cigarette out, walked back in and sat down in the vacant armchair. Three strong women surrounded him, each one with her own historic significant value.
He was where he was supposed to be.
