Nakahiga lang ako sa kama ko...
habang hawak hawak ang isang lumang larawan, that I've been keeping for so long.
Lumang larawan ng isang batang lalake at batang babae.
they were holding hands
with huge smile on their face...
remeniscing, how on earth did I first met....
Lorraine...
10 years ago, my parents and I went to a party.
like usual, maingay, pasosyalan and a 11 years old boy like me, wouldn't able to do anything but to there sit and eat.
habang yung magulang ko ay masayang bumabati sa mga kakilala nila.
pinaglalaruan ko lang ang pag kain ko, when I felt a tap on my shoulder. kaya napalingon ako dito.
i was a bit frozen on the spot.
"yeppeun(pretty)" sabi ko sa isip ko nang makita ko ang isang batang babae sa harap ko.
she gave me a huge smile, that actually had a huge effect on a boy like me.
"thank you" sabi nya.
saka ko lang narealize na, nasabe ko pala ng malakas ang naisip ko.
napayuko napang ako sa hiya. but then she just sitted beside me. kaya napatingin ulit ako sakanya.
"Can I stay here? please please please" tanong nya. and I would lie if I say that she isnt cute.
with her pigtails, chubby cheeks. big round eyes.
she looks like puss in boots.
again umiwas lang ako nang tingin.
"as if I have a choice" sabi ko na kunwariy iritable ako.
she just giggle and starts to draw.
I can say that shes a bubbly person. she always laugh, she always tell story, shes always crayz and sometimes hard to handle. but I found it charming.. and I actually enjoy her company.
"So what's your name?" she ask.
"Gio..Gio kwon ikaw?"
"Mahaba eh"she scrunch her nose like she was lazy to tell it.
" hayst just tell me"
"hmmm Lorraine Cassiopei park"sabi nito.
"oo nga ang haba"
"but it doesnt feel right. my name feel like a stranger to me" sabi nito kaya napatingin ako sakanya
confused.
"bakit naman? eh yun yung pinangalan sayo ng parents mo?"
"basta, kaya nga ang gusto kong itawag sakin ng mga friends ko ay Lucas, short for Lorraine Cassiopei."
"okay fine lucas, nice meeting you"
it was a short encounter with each other. but I wished to stay longer to her...
but never did I imagine that, that enounter would be the last.
When my and her family shared the same table.
I knew that moment na, ang binanggit nila sakin before na mapapangasawa ko ay ang batang babae sa harap ko.
she looks like she doesnt know a thing. and just keep on enjoying her parents company, and kept on smiling while talking to me.
okay lang naman sakin. namulat na ko kung pano gumagana ang buhay businessman, at panong angpamilya nila ang ginagawa nilang puhunan.
puhunan para ipakasal, at ang partnership nang pamilya ang magiging tubo o kita
handa na ko sa ganun...
pero hindi sya...
" pag lumaki ako, gusto ko tumira lang sa isang simpleng bahay malapit sa dagat...
...gusto kong mag karon ng simpleng pamilya...
...yung masaya na kase mahal ang isat isa...
hindi kailangan maging mayaman.... basta magkakasama...
...gusto ko ring maging artist, tas magkakaron ako ng convention ng mga pininta ko..."
she got so many dreams, that I dont had the guts to ruin it...
her smile...
her laugh...
and innocence...
I dont want to take it away...
Coz I knew from the moment I accepted the proposal, her dream will remain as a dream. And she will force to live with someone she doesnt love.
in short all her simple dream will vanished.
at ayaw ko nun...
that moment I refuse the engagement. and explain it to my parent. After that, naintindihan naman nila ko and they never force me to do something i dont like. they starts to underdtand me more.
we never met again after that. I knew she probably forgot about someone she only met once.
but not me... I kept the picture we took on that day.

I just realize that lorraine was her, when she took an examination for scholarship.
nung pinakilala nya ang sarili nya as Lucas.
Now I know kung bakit sinasabe ng family ko na kahawig nya ang batang babaeng yun.
I just couldn't believe, that the girl I loved before, was the same girl I love now.
