Slumping into the comforts of her couch, Jennie sighed melodiously, switching the channels of the TV in front of her.
She slurped her ramen in an unflattering manner, but she couldn't care less even if people were watching. She was rather blatant like that.
Today had been an exhausting day. She was a just recently graduated med student, taking a paid internship at a hospital under an emergency physician.
Being in an emergency room, with all those people on the near brink of dying, it thrilled Jennie to be in such a high pressure environment, but she felt stressed at the same time.
Not to mention, she was on her feet all day, and Jennie's feet hurt so much.
She propped her feet up against the coffee table, slumping further into the couch until her neck was bent uncomfortably at an angle which would probably cause soreness had she keep it up like that.
Jennie glanced at her bright screen, her phone. Nose scrunching up at the multiple text messages from her close friend nearby, proud patriotic Thailander by name of Lalisa Pranpriya Manoban.
She was a laid back partier, bright blonde hair with striking orange tips, high alcohol tolerance as she spent her days making money off of her artistic choice of photography.
And spent a fulfilled life behind the scenes with her beautiful tattooed boyfriend whose dark onyx eyes seemed to pierce a hole through Lalice's heart every time he glanced in her direction.
Jennie never missed those looks.
lisa: hi
lisa: bitch 👅💦🤪
lisa: i just bought whiskey and i have no place to keep them so im coming over
lisa: be there in ten
And on cue, Jennie was disturbed from her moments of solitude when the front door of her swung wide open, colliding into the wall besides the door.
Walls were thin, she hoped her neighbor didn't mind.
"I just drove here with one of my eyes closed." Lisa confirmed, hastily removing her shoes and banging the door behind her.
It resulted in a loud thud, once again, Jennie hoped her neighbor didn't mind.
"Am I supposed to be applauding you?" Jennie crinkled her nose in disgust, frowning at the glass bottle in Lisa's lap.
"Why did you even think bringing that to my place would be a good idea? I don't drink at home."
"It's a-" She hiccuped. "good accessory. Whenever you decide having a dinner date at your rustic lil' place, then this would the perfect thing to add."
"Oh my god, are you drunk?"
"A lil'."
"And you drove here? Isn't that against the law?"
"Some being a tight little prissy about everything, Doc. Live life on the edge."
"First off, I'm pretty sure being friends with you is living on the edge. And second, don't you live with Jungkook? Can't you just ask him to drive you here?"
"Listen, if I asked him, he would've wanted to keep these two bottles. I consider this an early birthday present. So how about that?"
"My birthday is in 4 months. It's not even nearby." Jennie groaned. "Lisa, you need help."
"That's why I have you, Miss Med Student."
"Shut up." She scoffed, picking up her bowl of ramen. Lisa opened her mouth expectantly like a child, and Jennie obligingly used her chopsticks to feed Lisa a mouthful of noodles.
Puffing her cheeks out to savor the taste, the blonde closed her eyes momentarily. Swallowing, she sighed.
"Damn, ramen never gets old."
