I cannot bring myself to open my eyes because my head is killing me, along with my back, and the palms of my hands.  However this bed is comfy, really comfy, this means one thing that it isn't mine. My bed could be described as a lot of things: cheap, lumpy, made in China, Wal-Mart $200 special, and very uncomfortable.  I think hard to figure out how I ended up in this bed but thinking makes my head hurt worse. Before I open my eyes I want to have an idea of what  I have gotten myself into.  The last thing I can remember is roller skating and then the pain. I must have fallen but this bed is far too comfortable to be a hospital bed.  I think harder and remember someone carrying me, so I must be in someone's house, but whose?

I slowly open my eyes and find myself in a bedroom, not mine but I had already kind of assumed that much. There is a little bit of light  peeking in from the curtains and I look around and find a lamp to my left pulling on the string.  I wince; the light is not doing any favors for my head. On the same end table as the lamp there is a note, bottle of water, and ibuprofen. I grab the note and read the extremely neat handwriting,

I hope you slept well. You took quiet the tumble; there is some ibuprofen and water for you as I am guessing your head will be killing you. Your purse and phone are on the ottoman at the end of the bed. I'll be in the living room when you are ready to come out, down the stairs and to the left.

          -Erik

I grab the water and take the ibuprofen and I am instantly grateful for Erik for thinking ahead and leaving them on the table. But who the hell is Erik? I try to think and I am unable to come up with any Erik that I could possibly know, maybe I hit my head hard enough that I have amnesia? I finally look around the room and realize it is huge and beautiful!  Half of my shitty apartment could fit in this room, there's a couch and TV against one wall, a desk against another, two doors that are cracked opened likely leading to a closet and bathroom, and of course this extremely comfortable bed that has beautiful canopy above it. I still cannot put together who Erik is but I do know that he is apparently very thoughtful and loaded.

I make my way off the bed and sure enough at the end of the bed I find my purse, phone, and my skates on the floor.  A little bit of today comes back to me, I had drove to a town about 15 minutes away because I was told it had amazing views for anyone who liked to walk, bike, or rollerblade around.  I can't even remember the name of the stupid town as I only moved here a few weeks ago, well not here, 15 minutes away to Hunters.  This will be the last time I take advice from a travel pamphlet!   I grab my phone and the screen lights up showing its 8am; I swear I went roller blading at noon? Maybe it's the amnesia again. I walk to the open door to my left and find it to be a large walk in closet that is completely empty, what a waste I would kill for something like this! I head to other door and gladly find the bathroom. I take a look in the mirror, I look like hell! I attempt to run my fingers through my hair with no luck and walk to my purse and grab the spare hair tie I always keep in it. I managed to get my hair up in a bun, I guess this is the best Erik is going to get when I go find him and figure out who the hell he is and why I am in his house.
