After traveling along the road through what looks like a desert, our heroes have finally arrive at a city known as Trivitopolis.
"Where finally here." Takato sighs.
Zack barked.
"Wow." Yuna and Misty was in awe of the city.
✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿
Unknown to the gang, they are being followed by Team Rocket.
"Ahahahaha, just look at them, admiring the view." Jessie chuckles.
"They have no idea, they are headed to our high tech hole." James laughs at the end.
"We finally came up with a plan for the perfect pit." Meowth added.
"First we dug the hole and planted the dynamite right underneath the Pokémons." Meowth explains the plan, "And all we do is push the button and the ground collapses and we have the Pokémon's trapped."
Jessie and James smirked, "Let's start."
James pushed the button and nothing happened.
"?" Jessie and Meowth blinked.
James frowned, "A malfunction?"
Meowth and Jessie face fault, "NO WAY!"
"Oh well, let's just go now." Jessie said. "We'll go after the twerps another day."
Meowth and James nodded.
James tossed the remote away.
And so Team Rocket left the area, but unknown to them, it did work but the timing was wrong.
[A/N: Team Rocket doesn't appear in this chapter or much anymore. But they appear from time to time.]

"Let's go and get something to eat." Takato said.
"You said it." Mairin agreed.
CRACK!
"Huh?" Yuna blinked.
Raichu notice the ground, "RAICHU! (YOUR KIDDING ME!)" He exclaimed.
Before anyone could react, the ground gave way.
"Ahhhhhh!" The gang fell through the hole into the ground.

Underground, the gang expect for the Pokémon were unconscious.
"Chespin." Chespie grabbed his trainer arm and shook it.
Mairin opened her eyes and smiled at her starter Pokémon.
Chespie sighs in relief.
Zack barked and licked his trainers face, he stopped till he saw Takato move.
"Zack, I don't need slobber all over my face." Takato shook his head.
"Arf." Zack barked, happily.
"Raichu. (Wake up.)" Raichu shook his trainer arm.
Volkner groaned as he started to wake up, "Raichu?"
"Rai Rai." Raichu smiled.
Alain was starting to wake up as well, he grunted as he held his head, "What in the world was that?" He groaned.
"Pikachu." Light shook her trainer arm.
"Yuna." Alain and Volkner said.
Alain pulled Yuna onto his lap, "Wake up."
"Mairin! Takato! Misty!" Volkner called out.
"Over here!" Both kids respond, "With Misty and Togepi!"
Yuna groaned as she felt a slight headache pasting through, "Alain? Volkner?" She got up slowly.
Volkner sighs in relief, he kissed her forehead, "Glad your alright." He said.
Alain hugged his girlfriend in relief as well, "Don't asked what happen. Even we don't know." He said.
"Pikachu." Light smiled at her trainer.
Yuna nodded and picked up Light.
"Toge Toge Toge!" The spike ball Pokémon continued to talk near his trainer ears.
"Misty. Hey, Misty." Mairin shook her orange hair girl.
"Come on, wake up." Takato said.
Misty groaned as she started to wake up, "Togepi." She saw her Pokémon first, "Mairin, Takato?" She got up slowly.
"Everyone, okay?" Yuna asked, as everyone was together.
"Yeah, slight from the injured, nothing serious." Misty replied.
"What's that up ahead?" Mairin asked, looking ahead.
Alain saw a tunnel in the cave, "Looks like a tunnel."
"Let's go." Volkner said. "It's better then staying here."

They gang walked through the tunnel till they saw light.
"This is a sewer." Yuna said.
"Great, now I really want to get out of here now." Misty said.
"Me too." Mairin said.
"Well, we need to find a manhole and we'll be out." Alain said.
"But the problem is that the sewer has many twist and turns." Volkner warned.
The gang started to walk in a direction to find a way out.
TINKLE!
"Pi?" Light ears twitched.
"Um? A bell?" Yuna blinked.
Misty looked back, "I didn't heard anything."
The gang expect Misty saw two thick vines behind the Cerulean Gym Leader.
"Chespin? (What is that?)" Chespie asked, stepping away.
"Ermm, Misty. Behind you." Mairin pointed.
Misty turned around and saw the two vines, "AHHHH!" She screamed and bolted ahead.
"Misty!" Yuna shouted, with a sweat dropped.
'Fast.' Alain and Volkner thought, amused.
The rest started to run, far away from the vines.
Volkner spots some light ahead of them, "Misty! Climb on the ladder on your right now!" He shouted at the Cerulean Gym Leader ahead of them all.
"Okay!" Misty shouted back.
The rest of them followed, one by one, till they were out of the sewers.
"Phew, were safe." Misty panted, heavily.
"Yeah." Takato said.
Zack hopped of Alain's shoulder.
Raichu hopped of his trainer shoulder.
"But what in the world was that?" Yuna asked, exhausted.
"Don't know." Misty replied, tiredly.
Alain and Volkner saw that they were now surrounded by police, "Oh Arceus." They groaned.
"You six are under arrest." Office Jenny spoke up.
"Your kidding." Takato and Misty jaw dropped.
Some policemen took out handcuffs and cuffed them.

The gang were put in jail in no time at all to explain themselves.
"Well, this is something I don't want to tell mum." Takato spoke up with a sweat dropped.
"I don't think any of our relatives would appreciate that or this city because we did nothing wrong." Yuna said, she lended on Alain's shoulder.
"Flint would laugh his head off hearing two Gym Leaders in a jail." Volkner sighs. "Especially at me."
"But like Yuna said, we didn't even do anything wrong." Mairin huffed, annoyed.
"Exactly. It was weird, we got arrested just for being in the sewer." Alain said.
"How annoying." Misty said.
"More like something isn't right in this city." Volkner responded.
A few minutes later...
Office Jenny opened the jail cell, "Well, your all free to go now." She said.
The gang was relief.
"Finally." Takato groaned.
Yuna lifted her head of Alain's shoulder, with an annoyed groaned.
"I hope you are not releasing them all, Officer?" A male was asked.
A middle aged man, with short brown neat hairstyle and wearing a orange suit appeared.
Officer Jenny saluted the middle aged man, "What a pleasant surprise Mr. Mayor." She greeted.
"Mr. Mayor?" The gang said.
Yuna, Alain and Volkner didn't like the tone that the Mayor spoke in about them.
"Sir, they only told me that they just arrive in the city today and they're headed to the Pokémon gym on Trovita Island and there story checks out." Officer Jenny explained.
"I can't have this thing leak out yet." Mr. Mayor said, "Better keep them locked in, till next week."
"Huh!" Takato and Mairin exclaimed, "No way!"
Yuna eyes narrowed as she gave a silent growl.
Officer Jenny frowned, "I can't hold them if they are not in charge of a crime Mr. Mayor." She responses.
Mr. Mayor sweat, "Well, if that's the law." He turned to the gang, "But I forbid you to tell anyone about that creature."
"You can't do that!" Mairin said.
"That's right!" Takato agreed.
"Why can't we, if it's the truth." Both kids said.
The Mayor was getting angry at them, "Say another word and I'll have you all arrested for endangering public safety!" He yelled and threatened, them.
But Mairin and Takato weren't scared of him, they seen scary things.
Chespie glared at the man for threatening Mairin.
Zack growled at the man for threatening his trainer as well.
Alain and Volkner, both blue eyes narrowed at the Mayor.
Yuna glared at the man, 'Endangering public safety! Yeah, right!' She thought.
"What do you mean endangering public safety?" Misty asked.
"That creature. Your not the only one who saw it." Officer Jenny spoke.
"Officer, don't." The Mayor protested.
Officer Jenny gave the mayor a look, "Mr. Mayor, we can't keep this a secret for ever." She stated.
Mayor flinched back, "Can't we, at least try." He said, almost like begging.
Officer Jenny took the gang to the Mayor's Office.
"The truth is that you kids aren't the only one who saw and encountered with the creature in the sewer. We recently had a number of reports of stolen foods, no serious injuries reported." Officer Jenny explained, "But the Mayor said that the public will panick, if they hear about the creature because we'll never be able to capture it."
"Huh? Why not?" Takato asked.
"Because there are nearly 500 miles of sewers under the city and more than 5000 manholes, so capturing it will not be easy." Officer Jenny stated.
The Mayor looked at them, "Thats way we must take drastic measure to ensure the safety of every citizen in this city." He then became dramatic, "There is an Election this week and if words gets out that I'm letting this monster running a muck, right beneath people feet, I'll be ruin!" He said.
"Don't see what so bad about it, if all it's doing is stealing food." Misty deadpanned.
KNOCK KNOCK!
"Come in." The Mayor allowed.
Nurse Joy walked in and her face expression, was angry, "Mr Mayor, I heard what your intent to do." She started.
"That's my business."
"It's Nurse Joy." Yuna said.
"You can't go through with that plan of yours Mayor." Nurse Joy states.
The Mayor waved off the Pokémon Centre Nurse, "Go run your Pokémon Centre and I'll run the city." He scoffed.
Alain was curious about this, "What kind of plan are you talking about Nurse Joy?" He asked.
"Instead of capturing the creature alive so we can study it and learn were it may come from. The Mayor wants to send a SWAT Team and destroy it." Nurse Joy reveals.
The Pokémon glared and growled at the Mayor angrily.
"That's cruel!" Misty shouted.
"That's stupid." Alain insulted.
"That's not fair!" Both kids shouted.
"You can't do that, what happen if it's a new species of Pokémon." Yuna said.
"That's the dumbest thing ever to do." Volkner insulted as well.
The Mayor was waving his arm in defense for his actions, "There's no proof." He said.
Officer Jenny stood up, "Mr. Mayor if there is such a plan, it's illegal. The police don't know anything about it." She stated.
The Mayor started to get annoyed, "ENOUGH! I am the Mayor and I'm the one responsible for this city and I'll do, what I see fit!" He yelled out.
The gang and Nurse Joy watched the Mayor, losing himself.

The gang went with Nurse Joy to the Pokémon Centre and talk to Professor Oak.
#Yuna is right. This mysterious creature could be a new species of Pokémon.# Professor Oak commented. #Or maybe a Pokémon that somehow ungrounded some kind of mutation.#
"Professor Oak, what can we do?" Takato asked, since his sister was busy.
#There's got to be a way to stop the Mayor from exterminating that creature.#
Nurse Joy frowned, sadly, "I don't think so."
Everyone looked at Nurse Joy.
"The only thing the Mayor cares about is getting re-elected and he's not going to let anything stand in his way." Nurse Joy explained.
"Nurse Joy is right." Alain spoke up, he was standing beside his girlfriend, from his stop near the window, "Look outside."
The rest walked towards the window and looked outside, they all saw lots of campaign posters stuck everywhere and a huge tall statue of the Mayor built.
"Woah." Mairin gobsmacked.
"That is ridiculous." Misty said.
"He has campaign posters everywhere in the city and a statue of himself built." Volkner said.
"I don't like that Mayor. He doesn't, no, he has no right to be the Mayor of a city at all." Yuna spoke, very calmly, "He uses his power and title over the city to do what he thinks is best for him, not the people of this city, for him and only him."
The other noticed the change of tone when the oldest Ketchum spoke and felt shivers down their spine, expect for Alain and Volkner.
"Instead of listening to other people who are actually trying to help, he completely ignores them and do whatever he has to shut people up." Yuna finished with a huff.
"Well said kid, excellent words." A male voice spoke up, agreeing.
Everyone turned and saw a middle aged man with black hair that is combed back and dark brown eyes with clear glasses, wearing casual white shirt and brown pants with black shoes.
"Oh, hello Thomas." Nurse Joy greeted.
"Who?" Takato asked.
"This is Thomas Dale." Nurse Joy introduce and then looked at him with a expression, "I take it you know of the Mayor plan?"
Thomas nodded, "Yes, I have and it doesn't really surprise me one bit at all, that he would think of something this cruel." He commented.
"I take it that, you know the Mayor, well huh?" Misty asked.
"Yes, I do. I've know him since we were kids and even as a kid he was always cruel and selfish, to both humans and Pokémon alike." Thomas responses.
"His a big meanie?" Mairin asked, childishly.
"Indeed and I was never friends with him. He always bully me and my friends when we were kids, whenever we had Pokémon of our own, he would always insult them."
"How in the world did he become Mayor?" Misty question.
"Influence." Thomas shrugged.
"I'm not surprise." Alain said, dryly.
"Yuna, any luck?" Volkner asked his girlfriend.
Yuna was sitting on the ground ever since Thomas arrived, with her eyes closed. "Good news." She spoke up, "I've found our mysterious creature location and it's not far from here." She opened her eyes.
"Your a psychic?" Thomas asked.
"Yeah. But I'm not one for abusing my powers." Yuna replied.
Thomas nodded, "I wish to help you with the mysterious creature." He offered.
The gang agreed.

Yuna led them back to the area were the gang came out from.
"Good thing that the SWAT Team isn't here yet, now our chance." Thomas said.
They went down the stepladder one by one, until they reach the sewer and had torches in their hands.
"Follow me." Yuna said, she led them through the sewer.
✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿
Meanwhile, the Mayor had the SWAT Team cover up every manhole and seal every single sewer shut, that way the creature couldn't get out of the sewer.
Nurse Joy slams her hands onto the desk, "Mr. Mayor, I can't believe you sent your SWAT Team to cover up every manhole in this city." She said, holding her anger, "Thomas and the kids are still in the sewers and they won't be able to get out."
The Mayor looked at Nurse Joy without a caring expression, "Not my fault. People shouldn't be playing in the sewers in the first place." He said, like its nothing to him, "With all the manholes covered up, the creature is now secured. Besides once the election next week is finished, I'll release Thomas and the kids then."
Nurse Joy glared at the Mayor, she was getting even angrier with him and so angry that she wants to hit him so hard.

Back in the sewer as the others followed Yuna through, she led them to a dead end tunnel.
"Erm, it's a dead end." Thomas said.
"Not really." Yuna flashes the torch light toward the water.
"An underwater tunnel." Alain said.
Yuna nodded, "Hope your all up for a swim because that were the presence of the mysterious creature is." She smiled.
"Right..." Misty gently place her Togepi inside her bag.
Takato and Mairin returned back their Pokémon back to their Pokéball.
"Let's go." Yuna said.
Everyone jumped into the water and swam through the tunnel, till they saw light on the other side.
"Pwah!" Takato and Mairin said, getting air.
Yuna got out of the water, she saw the vines, "Hello." She said.
"Huh?" The others looked and saw the vines as well, "Gah!"
Thomas got out of the water and flashed his light to see where the vine source was.
"Oh, look." Misty said.
The mysterious creature all along was a ...
"It's a Bulbasaur." Volkner said.
"Only its larger than other original size Bulbasaur." Alain commented, "My guess it's from living down here for so long." He examined the Pokémon.
Yuna saw a collar with a small bell, around the seed Pokémon neck, "Huh?" She took a closer look at it and saw a familiar logo on it, "Hey guys, look at this." She called out.
"Hey, that logo is the Mayor's trademark we've seen on all those posters and other things that belong to the Mayor." Misty pointed.
Thomas gasped, he recognises the Pokémon, "I know this Bulbasaur, it's used to be the Mayor's Bulbasaur when we were children." He explained.
'The Mayor actually had a Pokémon?' They all thought, surprised.
"But... He got rid of it, a few weeks after he got it." Thomas revealed.
"Excuse me." Yuna said, coldly.
"How could he!" Misty yelled out in anger.
Thomas walked over to the seed Pokémon, "Hello Bulbasaur," He kneeled down, "I don't know if you remember me but I'm Thomas. I met you when I was a little boy." He explained.
"Bulba?" Bulbasaur looked at the middle aged man carefully and then it remembered Thomas as a little boy who was kind to him, "Bulbasaur!" He nudged his leg. "Bulba!"
"I'm so glad your okay." Thomas smiled, hugging the seed Pokémon, "When I heard that your owner abandon you, I searched everywhere and couldn't find you. I'm sorry, that you were down here alone and so long." He said.
"Bulbasaur Saur." Bulbasaur wrapped its vines around the middle aged man, to return the hug.
"The one who should apologise to the Bulbasaur is the Mayor." Yuna states.
Thomas nodded, "I agree, so go and confront him."
"Lets." Misty, Mairin and Takato choruses.
Alain, Volkner and Yuna nodded.
Luckily for them, they managed to get out of the sewers the back because it hasn't been sealed up yet.

Back with the Mayor, he was standing in front of city hall with a huge smile on his face, "I will easily win the election, now that the creature is taken care off." His smiled widen.
The gang appeared.
"I wouldn't be so sure of that Mayor." Thomas spoke up.
"Huh?!" The Mayor was surprised to them all, "How did you get out?! I had every manhole covered up."
"The manholes, yes you did." Thomas then smirked, "But you forgot, the back entrance of the sewers wasn't. Now, let me introduce you to the mysterious creature of the sewers." He stated and then pointed to the large Bulbasaur beside him.
"Huh?" The Mayor looked at the seed Pokémon with a confused look, "This Bulbasaur looks familiar to me somehow." He said, examining it.
Thomas got a small tick mark above his forehead, "You should recognise it. This is the Bulbasaur that you threw away into the sewers years ago." He stated, crossly.
Mayor then recognise it, looking at the collar, "Ah, that's right. That is the Bulbasaur I let into the sewers because it wasn't evolving." He said.
"Bulbasaur." The seed Pokémon used its vines and wrapped it around the Mayor, lifting him up.
"Aahhhh! Put me down!" The Mayor ordered.
"Only if you apologise to Bulbasaur Mayor." Thomas stated.
"Certainly not! As the Mayor of this city, I have maintain my authority! I will not apologise to a Pokémon!" The Mayor shouted, furiously.
"Mr. Mayor are you alright, Sir?" The SWAT Team arrived at the scene.
"This Pokémon is validating the law by holding the Mayor hostage." The Mayor states to the SWAT Team.
"Prepare to fire." The SWAT Team held their weapon towards the large seed Pokémon.
Bulbasaur flinched, scared, "Bulba..."
"Light, Thunder Shock them." Yuna ordered.
"You too Raichu." Volkner ordered, as well.
"Pika!" Light jumped off her trainers shoulder.
"Raiiiii..."
"Piiikaaaa
"CHUUUU!" Both electric mouse Pokémon fired electricity at the SWAT Team.
"AHHH!" The SWAT Team cried out.
"Chespie, Vine Whip." Mairin commanded.
"Chespin Ches!" Chespie used Vine Whip and tossed the SWAT Team away.
"Ahhhh!" The SWAT Team screamed out, being thrown away.
The Mayor realised that he lost this, "Erm, can't we talk this out." He tried.
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur eyes narrowed, it tossed the Mayor into the air.
The Mayor landed on his own statue, crashing it to the ground.

After that the gang got ready to leave Trovitopolis Ctiy.
Thomas, Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny were there to see them off.
"I can't thank you all enough for your help." Thomas said, greatly.
"I can't either and after what happened today, there's not doubt about that, we will have a new mayor after the election next week." Officer Jenny said.
"Do make sure that the current Mayor gets what he deserves, once his position is over." Misty said.
"Don't worry, I will, after all the cruel and selfish things he done." Officer Jenny assured.
"So Thomas is Bulbasaur," Mairin started.
"Staying with you?" Takato finished, asking.
"Of course. I'm never letting him out of my sight again." Thomas smiled, happily.
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur smiled, he was finally happy and have a great, kind owner.
"Thats great." Yuna smiled at Bulbasaur.
"Excuse me, Nurse Joy, we heard that there is a gym close by called Trovita Island." Alain said.
"You heard right." Nurse Joy said, she then pointed towards an island on the other side, "It would only take you a few minutes to get to Trovita Island."
"There's a ferry, that goes there once a day. I'll take you to the pier." Officer Jenny offered.
"Alright. Thank you." Yuna said.

And so with the case of the mysterious creature finally solved, our heroes set their sight on Trovita Island and their next adventure.

~ Team Rocket was unsuccessful on capturing the gang when they fell through, so they left the city.
