I shuffled into the class as the first bell rang. Students began filing in, the chatter about Prom never even beginning to cease. I tossed my books onto the table and sat down. Mr Gavin wasn't here yet, so I took the opportunity to fix myself up. I tried my best to comb my hair through with my fingers while fidgeting with my uniform. I quickly pretended to be looking at my phone as Daniel approached, taking his seat beside me. I smiled at him, "Hard dungeon last night, huh?" he nodded, smiling back. I tried to sit still, but I had a pain in my neck. I tried to inconspicuously massage it, but to my dismay, failed. "Are you okay? Your hair looks a little messy..." He trailed off, looking a little guilty that he said it. "I'm fine... just tired. Didn't sleep well..." I trailed off again, as I was interrupted by a yawn. I turned my eyes toward the desk, scanning over the words on the cover of my textbook. I felt something touch my hair and turned toward Daniel. He had reached up, fixing some of my (h/l) (h/c) hair. He then reached down and tucked the tag of my shirt back in. He glanced at my face, realising I had noticed. "Sorry... Thought I'd just fix it a bit." I nodded. "It's alright. Thanks. Anything to make me look like a normal, functioning member of society."
I jumped as a loud bang echoed through the room. "ALRIGHT KIDS, It's time to get your work done! Exams will be coming up soon!" Mr Gavin had slammed his books down on the table, startling half the class. The other werewolves dove toward their seats, and the class began.
((Daniels POV))
I listened in as Mr. Gavin called our names. (Y/n) answered hers, and I answered mine. He finished the roll, and turned his gaze toward Aaron. "Mr. Lycan, I need to see you after class." Aaron nodded, ignoring Aphmau, who was asking questions about what he possibly could have done. I became distracted as (Y/n) began to waver back and forth. Her eyes kept fluttering open, only to fall closed again. She yawned. I nudged her. She seemed to try and wake up, turning to me, questioning what I wanted. I waited until Mr. Gavin turned his back, writing something on the blackboard. "Take a nap. I'll wake you up when class is over. And I'll give you my notes." I mumbled. (Y/n) seemed to hear, as she smiled, mouthed a "Thank you" then rested her head on her desk. I quietly shuffled my books over, slightly blocking (Y/n) from Mr. Gavins view. I stole a glances at her throughout class. She looked so cute. Her ears were fluffy and her hair had fallen over her shoulder, framing her face.
She slept the entirety of class, not a sound from her. As students began checking the clock, they began slowly packing away, one pencil at a time. Mr Gavin turned back to the class. "Alright, that's it for today. Pack up." At the command, everyone began shoving their books into their arms, leaving papers sticking out at odd angles. I gently shook (Y/n), glancing at Aaron at the back of the room. I wonder what the teacher wanted. (Y/n) began to stir. The bell rang, and the other students took off, bolting down the hallways. Rylan gave a wave, and Dottie made a kissy face. She was dragged away by Rylan, out the door to their next class. I watched as Aphmau gave a wave to Aaron, leaving the room. (Y/n) began to sit up, yawning as she did. I watched as Mr Gavin wandered to the back of the room.
"Now, as you should know, Prom is coming up soon. I'd like you to help out. I need someone to watch over the werewolves and make sure they don't get in any trouble." Aaron shook his head. "Sorry, sir. Wouldn't you think an actual werewolf would be better for the job?" He asked. Mr Gavin sighed. "You're the Alpha, Aaron. It's really up to you who does it. Please just pick someone so I can get the school off my back." Aaron seemed to take a second to think, before glancing over at me. "How about Daniel?" He offered, nodding over in my direction. Mr Gavin turned to look at me. "Daniel is great at calming people down. I'm sure he'd be great for helping at the Prom." Aaron got to his feet, sliding his books off the desk. "What? Are you sure Aaron?" Mr Gavin turned back to him, sighing as Aaron nodded.
"W-Wait? You want me to help a-at the Prom?" I asked. Mr Gavin nodded. "You just need to turn up and make sure no one breaks a window or starts a fight. And check the food to make sure no one dies. You can bring someone along as well." Mr Gavin didn't give a second glance as he followed Aaron out the door. A chair scraped against the floor, and I realised (Y/N) was still here. "Thanks, Daniel... I really needed that nap!" She stretched, her tail wagging. "N-No problem," I answered. Had she heard all that?
"What did Mr Gavin want with Aaron?" She asked. Apparently not. "Oh, he asked if Aaron could help out with Prom. He told Mr Gavin he'd pick someone else later." She nodded. "Alright, we better get to class. Can I read your notes at lunch?" She asked. "O-Of course. See you!" I got up, grabbing my books and left the classroom.
How was I going to ask (Y/n) to prom?
