Lionesse's pov
Today was it, today was the day of the challenge. Today was the day when one of them, either Lionesse or Gabe dies. She thought once she woke up, noticing Ash curled up beside her.
She held onto him tighter cause there was a huge problem here.
If Lionesse loses then not only does the pack goes back to the tyrant Gabe, but also her pups too and she knew full well that he would immediately kill them.
That's why she couldn't lose. That's why she was going to give all that she has and beyond today. That's why she trained her ass off all these years as well as yesterday with Reia. That's why she was going to win, cause losing was not an option at all.
"Ash, Tammy, sweeties come on wake up my pups. Come on you sleepy heads" she said softly, shaking them gently.
They both woke up and hugged her as well as giving her a kiss on her eyes like she does to them.
She picked them up and went to the bathroom, getting them both in the bathtub to give them a bath. After she finished, she wrapped them in fluffy towels and helped dress them up.
She then went back to the bathroom and quickly and got in the shower, getting a quick bath.
She then wore a strappless shirt and shorts and left the bathroom.
"Lion king? How did you get the scars on your back and stomach? Do they hurt now? If they do then i can kiss them better like you do with us when we fall" Tammy said with innocent eyes making Lionesse both want to cry and laugh.
She wanted to cry because her innocent question about the scars brought back bad memories. Damon would always punish her, cause she refused to kneel before him and submit.
He would always whip her a hundred whips minimum with a silver coated whip, both to increase the pain and so that they would scar.
She wanted to laugh however at the thought of having a small pup kiss her wounds better.
She must've seen part of the showing scars from the shirt.
"They are nothing sweety, a very bad male just pushed me once and my back and stomach scarred. And no Tamzy dear they don't hurt anymore." she told the little pup, she sure as hell wouldn't tell about how she really got them.
A pup should never see or hear of such horrors, pups were supposed to just play, eat and sleep. Have fun all the time and never worry.
10 minutes later, she git out of the shower herself and dressed both herself and her lovely pups.
She made her way to the dining room, extremely hungry. Well she always was hungry cause she moved all the time and moving burned away fat and made you very VERY hungry. She never checked but she must have serious ADHD.
Once she entered, the room fell silent and all eyes were set on her. She completely ignored them and yawned.
She really needed some serious dose of her daily caffeine and a couple of cigars to smoke.
She headed to the table she always sat at. Placed Tammy on the chair besides her and sat with Ash on her lap.
"Good morning my only favorite people, excluding one in this pack" she said.
On the table sat Tauriel, Blake, Tommy, Sarah, Markus, Kiera, Tobby, Caelee, Kye, Reia, Dante, Charles and Jace(the one she excluded from her greeting.
"Well someone's in a good mood today" Tommy exclaimed in surprise. Haha, he probably thought that she would start crying, she thought to herself.
"Why of course i'll be in a great mood, you silly boy. Finally, i will have some entertainment and thrill, cause i have serious boredom problems you know" she said excitedly while pouring herself a huge mug of strong coffee.
She then lit a cigar taking in a big whiff.
"What do you think that you are doing young lady! Throw those cancer sticks away now" Charles all but shouted.
"Sorry sir but that's a thing i can't do. They calm me down and take some stress away, besides it's not like i'm gonna die from smoking cause if i was gonna die then i would've been six feet under many years ago." Lio said dismissively.
"So you've been smoking for years. How old are you 17-18. Where are your parents? I would like to see them or your brothers, you must have brothers. Come on call them, i want to meet them now" He said and Lio tried very hard to hide the pain she felt from his words.
"Well you could visit my parents whenever you like. You will find them six feet under your feet. Or you could meet my most hated brothers when you find them" she said as if not caring but deep down she was writhing in agony.
Alpha Charles and the others sat shocked to the core and the poor man, looked like he wanted to slap himself and go to the corner and die after he said his harsh words.
"I-I I didn't mean to say that or hurt you, i swear. I apologize, my child" he said looking down in shame.
"Oh, don't worry about it Sir, it's not like they died now, right? If i remember correctly, then they died when i was 8 or 10 years old, the same time when my supposed brothers betrayed me, so it's alright" she said, though it was nothing close to being alright.
She shrugged and lit another cigar, this was the 3rd one now. Charles and Tommy seemed that they wanted to judge her again but restrained themselves.
A sharp pain spread through her entire leg when Ash accidentally kicked her knee due to swinging his feet up and down to entertain himself.
He was about to cry but Lionesse cut him off by kissing his cheek whispering to him that she is fine.
"You really should let the doc check that knee of yours out" Reia said eyeing her knee.
"I already did and the doc said that it would need a month to fully heal if i do the surgery." Lio replied simply.
"Well why don't you do it? How the hell are you gonna fight today with a bad knee? It's one more reason for you to let Jace fight instead of you" Tommy asked looking at her as if she was insane.
"Well if this is an indirect request to lead my pack for a month, then don't even think about it. No male will ever be alpha of my pack as long as i'm still breathing." she said very angrily.
Males are arrogant and all the same. They think that all women are weak and incapable of leadership.
"Oh by the way, i just remembered. Lio? Kye said that he was thinking about making a pact, a treaty, you know? With this pack's alpha. Do you recommend them? Do you think it's a good idea? Are they worth it or are they just some typical stuck up bastards?" Reia asked not caring about the growl that erupted when she said the last part.
She was aware of Jace looking at her from the corner of her eyes. He had a scowl obviously thinking that she wouldn't recommend them, due to their poor treatment towards her.
"Hmmm, i'll tell you the truth hun. If you're looking for a pack that consists of 99.9% of assholes, such as the blondy over there called Drake, who called me a bitch and constantly mistreat women that obviously can't even lift a knife here without cutting themselves or my mate that called me a whore or or or......and only 0.1% great people, then you'll make a treaty with them," she said leaning back on her chair and lighting another cigar, the 6th this past half hour, great right? Not, but she was really stressed.
"So you're telling me that it's a horrible idea? Alright we'll find another pack" Reia said, but she didn't understand what Lionesse meant with what she said and obviously, neither did the others cause they were all scowling at her.
She laughed loudly then, taking a huge whiff of smoke and 5 minutes later, she calmed down before saying
"You did not understand what i said, now have you? No hun, i have met many alphas, seen many packs, watched many train and they were all either weak or stupid or rash or thought that they are the only worthy wolves on planet earth or you go on, but for the first time in a very, VERY long time i have seen a pack with not good, not good enough, not decent, no cause the 0.1% i am talking about here are GREAT, special, one of a kind guys. They have great skill, have many smart guys such as that boy over there called Alexander or like Dante over here. So my dearest friend i will strongly recommend them to you and will kick your sorry ass Reia, if you and your Oaf, Kye, didn't make a treaty with them and make them your allies." she said and if a feather fell at the moment they would've heard it, that's how very quiet it was.
She shook her head and stood up, in order to leave. "Now i'm gonna go get ready cause the hugest ass fuck earthling that exists will be arriving in an hour or so" she said, before leaving the dining room and minutes later, entering her room.
She realized then that the armor wasn't there, she immediately knew that her grandma didn't bring it cause she obviously talked with Gabe.
She called her and she answered on the second ring, wow she improved, now she knew how to slide the answer icon on her touch phone.
"Hey grandma, how are you? I'm gonna call you later, if there is a later of course in order to chit chat, but i only have half an hour to get ready, so i wanted to ask you why didn't you bring my armor?"
"Hello my dear child, i didn't bring it because i talked to Gabe and he said that no armors would be used, he swore our sacred oath that not even him can brake." her granny answered.
"Ok, thank you granny, i have to go now." Lio said.
"Ok my dear. Oh and Lionesse? You come back with shield, or on it. Am i understood? Don't you come back in any other way" her granny said in a very serious tone.
"I know that granny, i always do and you know it very well" she replied before ending the call.
'Come back with your shield or on it' that's what Greek mothers always tell their children before they leave for war, it means that you either come back alive with great glory and winning or come back dead, never come back as a loser.
She quickly changed her clothes into black tights, a white tight short sleeved shirt and her black combat boots. She then picked up her knives putting them on her belt and held her shield with her left hand and huge very heavy spear that even alphas tried to hold but couldn't for more than 10 minutes with the other.
She then made her way to the backyard, where a huge arena was located. She found all the warriors and her friends already standing, waiting for her to enter. When she did, her eyes fell on a huge extremely buff, muscly man, Jace standing next to him.
'Gabe' she immediately thought. She approached them quickly, smirking.
"Smelly Gabe, nice to see you gain. Not. Haha funny right. So you're still sure about this fight to the death thing?" she said.
"Why hello to you too, i see you've become even more beautiful during these last two years. And well i got bored living as a rogue so i decided to entertain myself a little. You know it's been a longtime since i had someone's blood on my hands or splashed across my face and clothes. I missed the smell of death, if you know what i mean." he said and if it was someone other than Lionesse, they would already be dead from fright. But Lionesse heard and saw worse.
"Of course i know what you mean, it's been a long time since i last experienced that thrill, you know" she replied although she knew that he was talking about her and how he would supposedly kill her. "So how about we start to get this over with? Cause i have many things to do"
"Of course, we begin in 10 minutes" he said in a cold, sick voice.
She headed to the stairs, getting up in order to talk to Tauriel that was standing with her other two friends, their mates, as well as Kye, Reia, Charles, Dante, Tobby and Caelee.
Jace caught her arm before she headed towards them and pulled her telling her "I understand that what i said is wrong, but stop being stubborn and let me fight in your place. You can't win him and besides you're a woman a he is a man, it was never heard that a woman fought against a man and won. There is still time to retreat-" he said but she angrily interrupted him by shouting
"RETREAT, well that's an easy choice for me, male. I never retreat, never surrender, till the death, till what i call a beautiful death. So get your stupid self out of my face, i have something important to tell Tauriel before the fight." she said before pushing him strongly, causing the mighty alpha my ass, to stumble.
She stopped in front of Tauriel, who stood army style straight before her. She turned towards Dante handing him her spear in order to tie her shoe boot's laces, not missing his comment about how the hell could she hold it so easily or even more importantly, fight with it, she then stood back up, turned to Tauriel and ordered her ,
"Tauriel, you listen and you listen carefully, am i understood? If you see that this fight is not favoring me, you get my pups and run back to Blood-lust, where you will tell Charon to challenge Gabe, who would have become an alpha after killing me, for the Alpha position. If he falls too, you prepare for war, am i understood? I trained the pack for this reason, so that no tyrant will ever be able to rule them again" she said in a very serious tone. Tauriel only nodded and Lionesse quickly descended the stairs, not missing Jace's look, that held an emotion unfamiliar to her.
She met Gabe in the middle of the arena.
"The rules are simple, you already know them, pretty girl, this is a fight to the death firstly, secondly, you could use any kinds of weapons except from guns or bombs and finally, no help from anyone or else by law, the opponent will have the right to kill the other who received help"
They both started circling each other, signaling the beginning of the fight.
Lionesse started first, she lunged towards Gabe, jumping in the air, hitting his shield with her spear. He stumbled but did not fall.
He swung his own spear very quickly, but Lionesse was much faster, cause she already had her huge, heavy shield in front of her, stopping his dangerous attack.
He narrowed his eyes, obviously not expecting it and they started circling each other again. She striked first again, thrusting her spear on him in an attempt to fool him and it worked.
The minute he side-stepped her strike, then stupidly pressed her spear to his side using his spear instead of his hands, she strongly hit her heavy shield on his spear, easily braking the thick wooden spear, that only the tip was made of iron, in half.
He was shocked and she seized the chance to hit his own shield that was protecting his chest with strength causing him to fall and shield to fly away.
"Come on Gabe, stand up, come on, stand up you all mighty male, come on i won't let stone take my glory. GET UP" she said before planting her spear on the floor and throwing her shield to the side.
She was no coward, she would not fight someone who held no spear or shield, while she did.
Lionesse drew her two knives, while Gabe drew his big axe and knife.
"Don't flatter yourself pretty girl, you got a few lucky shots, but that's it." Gabe shouted before lunging at her.
He swung with his axe and knife at the same time with great strength.
Lionesse caught them with her own knives, stopping his axe a few centimeters from her skull and knife just before it pierced her heart.
Hmmm so he fights way better with these weapons rather than spear, but no worries, she will keep her cool and concentration.
She pushed strongly, causing them both to stumble back, separating each other.
He again swung both his weapons quickly and skillfully, but Lionesse was an experienced fighter and predicted the moves, effectively blocking most of his poor attempts to strike her.
She said most, cause he did cut her a few times with the knife, but it was nothing serious or deep.
He lunged again swung the axe at her head but she quickly ducked and stood up quickly, bending her body to the side when he stroke with his other hand, ready to plunge the knife in her heart.
She took hold of his arm, pushing it away, causing him to turn away from her and pushed him while slashing at his back, causing him to growl in pain.
He quickly stood up and lunged at her very quickly, slashing at her throat.
She escaped from certain death by miracle, due to stepping back causing the knife only to graze her stomach.
However he quickly bent down planting his knife in her left foot causing her to yelp in pain and quickly backed far away before she stuck her knives in his body.
She cursed but when she looked at his face seeing a triumphant smirk she laughed loudly confusing him.
"What's so funny, huh?" he growled angrily.
"Did you really think that by putting a knife in my foot that it will stop me from fighting. How stupid of you, oh come on it is nothing but a tickle from what i went through all these years, stupid male" she said making her face emotionless, then bent down and pulled the knife out throwing it at the very end of the arena.
She did feel pain and she did feel the blood rushing out of the fresh wound but hid it all, concentrating on the fight again.
Gabe growled before striking again, they met half way, held each others hands open wide, while each one of them tried to push the other to the ground.
When Lionesse saw that pushing wasn't an option, she took him by surprise by pulled him strongly to her, hitting his face with her head, causing his to stumble back and fall on his knees, clutching his bleeding face.
She didn't stupidly wait for him to stand, so she immediately kicked his face causing him to fall roughly on his back.
He stood up, his face covered in blood. Suddenly she felt a strong pain from her knee, causing her to lose focus for only a second.
However that second of unfocusness did cost her cause Gabe seized the opportunity and lung towards her, swinging his axe towards her head.
She knew that there was no way to block it, cause it would be too late, so she stepped backwards, this time the axe hitting flesh.
It hit her side, embedding itself deep inside and due to the great force of his hit, she was raised in the air with the axe and thrown backwards, the axe leaving her side, causing it to erupt in extreme pain again.
She gripped her side in a feeble attempt to stop the bleeding. But the wound was very deep and blood was rushing out soaking her white shirt, red.
He came to her again but she crouched causing his foot to get stuck on her stomach and fall face first on the floor.
She took that as her only chance to rip a part of her shirt and wrap it tightly against the wound, slowing the gushing blood.
She was already feeling her blurry eye sight, bluring even more and her body weakening from the blood loss. She had to end this quickly or else, death was her fate.
He came at her again, jumping in order to throw her to the ground, like boxers do, and smash her head on the floor by landing on her head with his knee, but she quickly dropped on the ground, spangato style, which hurt her side like hell, while Gabe flew above her, hitting his head on the floor.
She took his moment of dizziness as a chance and plunged a knife at each of his knees, keeping him unable to move, stuck on the floor while he screamed in pain.
She then planted a very strong punch on the side of his head at the spot which would rend you unable to move anymore.
It was her last shot and thankfully she did succeed. He fell backwards, his back arched cause his knees where stabilized on the floor.
He was drifting in and out of consciousness.
She turned to the silent warriors, found Cristina and called her saying, "Cristina, you once told me how could you dishonor a male or anyone, by killing them. You said that you would only honor them by giving them a beautiful death. Well, watch and learn how, girl" Lionesse said, before she picked Gabe up by the hair, causing him to groan in pain, and held a knife to his throat.
She then threw him back on the floor, face first and put her foot on the side of his face.
That was a move that extremely humiliated a male and stripped him from any dignity he had.
"Come on Gabe, beg. Beg me to give you a quick merciful death. Come on, beg me." she said to him.
He raised his head and kissed her foot while begging, "I-I-I beg. I beg you. I beg you Alpha to give me a merciful death. Please, i beg you."
She laughed loudly at the sight before her.
She turned towards Cristina, shouting "This is how you dishonor a male, this is how you strip them of dignity, this is how you squash their pride and ego"
She then bent to his ear so only he could hear and whispered, "Don't you think that i don't know that you consult with vampires. Cause believe me i smell them all over you, after 219 years of being enslaved by them, i did learn their scent by heart. I would've been merciful and not given you a harsh death, but i never give mercy to someone who betrays their kind by making deals with vampires in order to obtain power" and just like that, she slit his throat shallowly so that he would die slowly and painfully.
After minutes of convulsing while she held him still, he died.
She threw his body, stepped on him and slowly limped to the arena's door, leaving the arena, attempting to head to her room.
However, she had lost lots of blood and fell on the ground unconscious.
