MAE HAD LEFT with Icelyn only a few minutes ago, and after they had said farewell to Peter and Lily, Parker and Dustin walked together towards the parking lot.
When they reached the outdoors, Dustin suddenly cleared his throat. "So, are you asking anyone to the winter formal next week?"
Parker's eyes widened—he had completely forgot about the dance. "I'm not sure. I actually completely forgot this year. Probably because Pete's coming home for the holidays."
Parker assessed Dustin's behavior at the moment: jittery feet, fidgeting fingers, lips pressed tightly together... "Are you?"
Of course, he already knew the answer.
Dustin stopped in front of his best friend with a serious expression on. "Remember when you said if I needed a favor, you'd do it?"
"Yes...?" Parker dragged, prompting for Dustin to continue and get to the point.
"Well," his best friend replied, "I'm gonna need to cash that favor in."
a/n: any guesses as to what Dustin means? by the way, I'm going on vacation very soon and I won't be able to update for the rest of this week or next. So I'll be back on Monday the 13th, most likely.
