Not So Bad
The last things I saw were a pair of heterochromatic eyes that shone with worry.
A barely audible sentence came from my mouth, before I slipped into the darkness and have it consume me.
"For-give... M-me..."
"Kura...mi!" Blurred and unfocused voices were heard all around me, my eyes still too strained to open as I tried to concentrate on the voices.
It was like my head was submerged in water, everything too blurry for me to sense as my eyelids refused my command of opening, plunging me into the darkness behind them.
"She... rest... can't... leave." More of the voices came, the words I tried to grasp at making no sense to me as I attempt to move something else other than my eyes.
Using all of my strength, I finally get little movement from my finger, the limb twitched from my command while gasps came from the unknown voices.
"Kur...yami!" The voices got louder and clearer each passing second, a sudden white light penetrating through my eyelids as I squint from it, a groan escaping my mouth in annoyance.
Thinking of opening my eyes again, I will them to move, feeling them slowly flutter as the white light shone through my opened lids.
"Holy shit... Who brought the sun in...?" I groaned, closing my eyes again from the sheer burn from the light in front of me, waiting for the pain to wash away and my eyes to adjust to the new setting.
"Kurayami!" Cries from my classmates caught me off guard, my eyes wandering over to the side of the bed I was in to see Midoriya, Uraraka, Iida and a few others as well.
"Why are you here? The match's still going right? I'm sure I wasn't out long." I grumbled, not meeting their eyes and staring at the blanket that laid atop my lap, thumbs stroking the fabric in circles.
"We were all worried about you. You fell right on your back after that fall, Recovery Girl was worried you'd have fractured your tailbone or something." Uraraka said, eyes wide as the others nodded in agreement, myself staying silent.
"Well, I'm fine. You all can leave now. I'll go back after I'm done." I concluded, pulling myself out of bed, my bare feet hitting the cold tiled floors as I stood up, them worrying over that I'm not in the condition to stand.
"You are in no condition to get out of bed this early, Kurayami-kun! I suggest you remain in bed until Recovery Girl permits that you are fully restored to stand, nonetheless walk!" Iida explained, hands doing wild gestures as I breathe out from my nose, a small grin on my face.
"I'm good. I wasn't dealt with serious injuries. Maybe a few scratches, but overall better than what most of you got." Lifting my right arm that was littered with burns from the attack Bakugo made, I hover my left palm over it, a faint glow emitting from it.
White energy flowed out from my palm, encasing my right arm with the said energy as it glowed, finally dimming after some time before fully disappearing, the burn marks gone and healed with the original skin replacing it.
"See? All fine." I shrugged, watching the gawking looks of them as they stare at my healed up arm.
"I almost forgot you had a Quirk..." Kirishima muttered, giving a small grin as he scratched the back of his neck a little awkwardly.
"It's okay. Just, I really gotta change. This torn up uniform isnt really the most comfortable. So..." Dragging my sentence, I look at them awkwardly in hopes that they get the hint, which they fortunately do.
"R-right! We-we'll be with the rest of the class then!" Yaoyorozu flustered, gesturing the others as well as they nod and start beelining out of the room.
Standing in the infirmary in silence, I stare at the closed door my classmates left from, closing my eyes and heaving an exasperated sigh.

"Now let's move on to the awards ceremony!" Fireworks erupt above the arena, the crowd eerily silent as the podium stands three figures.
"He's been going wild since the second he woke up..." The redhead, Kirishima said, he and his classmates staring the ash blonde shackled and muzzled, thrashing in rage.
"No holding back, Mr. First Place!" The Pro Hero Midnight chuckles, Bakugo glaring menacingly as he yells muffled profanities.
"What's gotten into you, Katsuki? You got first place. It's what you wanted, right?" The bi-coloured female sighs standing next to him on the '3rd' place podium.
"Now for the medals! Presenting them this year is you know who!" A large figure lands to the ground, dust being collected up as he stands tall.
"I am...-"
"He's everyone's Hero... All Might!"
"-here with the medals." Being cut off by Midnight, All Might looks toward her, seeing her apologising for cutting him off.
With a large smile on his face, All Might approaches where Shiro Kurayami was, seeing her standing unscathed.
"Congratulations, young Kurayami! You're a strong one!" All Might praised, placing the medal around her neck as she rolls her eyes, a smile on her face.
"Stop that, All Might. I know what I've done. But thanks." She said, making him chuckle as he looks at her.
"You've finally showed your true strength, young Kurayami. Perhaps, with time, you can be as great of a Hero as your parents." His words cause the smile on her face to widen a fraction, nodding as well.
"Right. But it may take a while." Shrugging, Kurayami makes the Pro Hero give a laugh, him walking towards the second place podium where the heterochromatic boy stood.
"Young Todoroki, congratulations." He says, placing the silver medal on Todoroki who continues to not make eye contact.
"You held back. You didn't use your left side that final match. Was there a reason for that?" All Might questions, the bi-coloured male staring off with an indifferent expression.
"It was my match against Midoriya. I think I've lost my way. I know you've taken an interest in him, and I'm starting to see why. I've always wanted to become a hero like you.-" Todoroki confessed, looking down to prevent making eye contact with the hero. "-But, it's not like I can just forget and get over things. That's not enough, there's still something I have to settle first."
"That's a new look I'm seeing on your face. So say no more, whatever you must settle, I'm sure you can do it." Embracing him, All Might gives a warm smile and prepares to walk to the last person.
"U.A. knew about Shiro's Quirk, didn't they?" His words stop All Might in his tracks, turning around to look at Todoroki who now looks at him in the eye.
"You all knew that she had a Quirk, yet you pretend to not. Clearly you would've acted just now if you did." The Pro Hero remains silent, causing the heterochromatic boy to stare at him as his minds recalls the previous event.

"And Kurayami is down! She's automatically in Third place now!" Present Mic announced, the crowds silent as they stare at the unconscious figure of the girl.
"She had a Quirk all along?"
"Why'd she hide it?"
"Does she think she's stronger that's why she wanted to prove something?"
"Does she even want to be a hero? She's not even taking this seriously."
"She should just stop and go home."
"U.A. actually let her in with an attitude like that?"
Whispers and murmurs fill the arena silence, catching the attention of both remaining competitors as they look toward the stands.
"The fuck you whispering shit about, huh? You wanna say something then say it to her fucking face, you cowards!" The ash blonde yelled, glaring at the stand of Pro Heroes who instantly stop their chatter.
Todoroki gazes at the teachers that were silently watching the spectacle, raising an eyebrow at their silence.
"Have you not seen? Even without using her Quirk, Shiro was able to beat the majority of the student that had Quirks. Tell me, if some of you were to not have the ability of your Quirks, would you be able to do the same?" Now staring at the crowd, Todoroki challenges those who had whispered, his stare cold and intimidating to the Pro Heroes as they look away.
"And what right do you fucking have to assume why she didn't use her Quirk?! It's not like you know her or some shit! So you can shut the fuck up and leave or I'll do it for you!" Bakugo growls, both him and Todoroki making eye contact for a moment before returning to glare at the crowds.
-x- PRESENT TIME -x-
"So why did U.A. not defend their student?" All Might looks over his shoulder, staring at Todoroki who stares back without fear.
"Young Todoroki, there's always a reason to everything. But this one, I am in no position to provide to you." With that, All Might returns to his cheery posture, walking towards where the shackled blonde stood.
"And finally, young Bakugo!- Well, um this is..." Spotting the muzzle clamped around his mouth, All Might moves forward and unlocks it, pulling it off of his face.
"You lived up to your promise, wonderful!" he started, only to falter at the sight of Bakugo's glare, his mouth curling into a snarl.
"Al Might, this win, it doesn't mean shit. Doesn't matter what anyone says. If I don't recognise it, then that medal's just garbage!" The ash blonde yelled, eyes burning with an unknown rage which creeps the Pro Hero.
"Hmph! In a world that's constantly graded on a curve, there aren't many who can continuously be on top.-" All Might lifts up the golden medal to Bakugo. "-So accept this! As a wound even! So you don't forget!"
"I told you I don't need that junk!" Yanking his head back, Bakugo tries to strain away from the medal as All Might places it around his head, which proves a failure as he only manages to place it where Bakugo's mouth was, teeth biting on the ribbon.
"Well, these are your winners!" All Might turns to look at the crowd behind him, Bakugo growling with the medal in his teeth.
"Damn, Katsuki. Give it a rest would you?" The female beside him spoke up, catching his attention as he now glares at her, growling out words that are hard to hear.
Waving a hand, a tendril of black grasps onto the gold medal in his teeth, then helping to place it properly around his neck, enabling him to speak once more.
"Shut the fuck up!" He curses, glaring at her as she rolls her eyes at his typical string of obscenities.
"Serenity." Moving her left hand, a white ball of energy floats up to where the ash blonde was, popping and releasing golden particles as they flutter down onto him.
Instantly, his tense figure drops, the malice in his eyes dimming and becoming a dazed state as he slumps. His previous struggle from the chains on his hands also seized, now falling limp in front of him as he stares at Kurayami.
"Good, you're calm now. You can get out of these chains." Snapping her fingers, dark matter engulfs the metal cuffs, eroding it and successfully freeing his hands and arms.
"See, that's not so bad, isn't it?"
