After visiting two radio stations and People magazine to do a few quick interviews, the last stop of the day is Buzzfeed. I follow the boys inside, awestruck by the bright modern building as we're led to the filming studio for the interview.
"I'll have you guys all sit here," one of the staff members tells them while motioning towards the floor. The boys all exchange a confused look, but they take a seat on the floor together nonetheless.
"Oh my god!" Hoseok squeals happily. I follow his gaze to the door, where two people are walking in with puppies in their arms. Almost immediately, the rest of the boys are cooing over the puppies as they're placed on the floor with them.
Jungkook scoops one of the puppies up immediately, and Taehyung talks to the one closest to him to coax the pup closer. Jin giggles like a little girl when one of the other puppies runs up to him and the last one slowly wanders up to Jimin. It takes every ounce of self-control I have not to completely melt at how cute Jimin looks while holding onto that puppy.
For this particular interview, the boys are left alone with the puppies while Namjoon reads each question aloud, first in English and then Korean. He and Hoseok do most of the talking, seeing as the rest of the boys are completely engrossed in the puppies.
"Your album is called Love Yourself, but who else do you love?" Namjoon reads out, and the boys all think for a minute. "I love my mom."
"I love ARMY!" Hoseok says while moving his puppy's paws, just before said puppy escapes his grasp and runs to Yoongi.
"I love you," Jin says to Namjoon, and Namjoon blushes.
"I love you too," he smiles back at him.
"I love puppy," Yoongi mumbles while his attention is fixed on the small dog in his arms, making Jimin laugh.
"I love my family." Jungkook looks up at me as I try to keep from crying like an idiot in front of them, but Jimin still notices and smiles. I walk away when my cheeks burn against my own hand, trying to get it together after what Jungkook just said.
"That was so sweet," Charlotte whispers once I get to the back corner where she's standing.
"He's a royal pain, but he's the sweetest guy I've ever known." I watch fondly as the puppy gives Jungkook kisses. He looks like he's on cloud 9.
"My brother is the same way," she giggles. "I think that's just how they're built."
"I think you're right." I look back over to the boys, who seem to be wrapping up the interview. Poor Namjoon is trying desperately to be able to play with one of the puppies, but it keeps running away from him. The sight of it makes me and Charlotte silently die of laughter in our corner, watching as he pouts at the small dog with his hands outstretched.
"That dog knows Namjoon will break him," Charlotte whispers. "He breaks everything he touches."
"My apologies to your bed," I snicker, and her eyes get wide as saucers.
"Jungk— I mean Jungsoon!" She looks at the floor in embarrassment. "That's something your brother would say."
"Are we wrong?" I tease, and she just shakes her head.
"I don't use a bed frame anymore," she admits, and I almost scream at her confession.
"You know, if our names confuse you, you can just call me Jenny," I offer. "That's what everyone called me back in England."
"But that's not your name." Charlotte pouts. "Isn't there a word like 'Oppa'? But for girls?"
"'Unnie' means 'big sister' for girls," I tell her, and she smiles.
"Okay, Unnie!"
"Noona!" Jungkook bounds up to me with the puppy in his arms. "Meet my puppy!"
"You can't keep him, Jungkook." I giggle as the puppy squirms into my arms, licking my face all over.
"She is my new best friend," Jungkook huffs at me.
"Well, I think it's time for you to say goodbye to her." I look over at the door, where the two people who brought the puppies in have returned to collect them.
"I'll never forget you," Jungkook whispers to his puppy before walking her back to the handler and begrudgingly passing her back.
"Taehyung, it's time to give the dog back," Jin tells him with a pat on the back while the younger clutches onto the puppy in his arms.
"He doesn't want to go," Taehyung argues.
"Are you trying to make Yeontan jealous?" Hoseok teases him, and Taehyung shakes his head adamantly. "Then you'll have to hand him over now."
Taehyung pouts like a baby but still allows Jin to take the puppy and hand him over to the handlers. He and Jungkook stand together like a couple of children that have been denied candy.
"You guys are done for the day," Charlotte tells them.
"You coming back to our place, baby?" Namjoon puts an arm around her shoulder and kisses her cheek.
"Yeah," she nods.
"Can we get food on the way back?" Jungkook pleads to his hyungs.
"We have dinner being delivered when we get to the house," Namjoon tells him, but that doesn't seem to sway Jungkook.
"So?" He whines. "I'm hungry now!"
"Let's just grab him some McDonald's or something," Jin suggests. The others nod as we follow him outside towards the cars and pile in. Jungkook tries to order two double macs, but I force him to get chicken sandwiches instead.
"You need to eat healthier," I insist, but it doesn't help my brother's scowl as he bites into the unwanted sandwich.
"Jungsoon, these kids are giving me a headache," Seokjin grumbles once we get back to the house. He had been in the other car with Hoseok, Taehyung, and Jimin.
"Why is that?" I giggle.
"Because they're always giving me a headache." He pouts his full lips at me.
"Must you give your hyung a hard time?" I ask the guilty boys, but they don't look the slightest bit remorseful in their fit of laughter.
"But Eommaaaaaaaa," Taehyung hugs me, "it's so fun to watch him get frustrated."
"They're exhausting," Jin groans and places his head on my shoulder.
"I'm beginning to see that." I rub his head to ease his suffering, and he hums contentedly.
"I'm officially never letting you leave," he sighs happily.
"Mom! Dad! Don't be flirt in front of the kids!" Charlotte laughs at our display, and I roll my eyes.
"Gross, I'm still eating." Jungkook grimaces at her between bites of his sandwich.
"Remind me to sit by you when we watch TV later so you can rub my head some more." Jin smiles at me before walking into the kitchen. I look over at Jungkook and notice the scowl on his face hasn't faded, so I walk over to him to see what's wrong.
"Kookie?" I lean onto his shoulder, waiting for him to start talking.
"I don't like when my hyungs flirt with you."
"First of all, Jin was not flirting with me. And second, even if he was, what's so bad about that?" I would think of all people, he'd want me to date one of his friends instead of some random guy. At least then, I'd know that he approved of my boyfriend.
"Love is overrated and pointless," he snaps.
"Woah, that is not the hopeless romantic little brother that I remember." I scrunch my eyebrows at him, wondering what brought on this sudden change in disposition.
"That's because being romantic is hopeless," he mutters.
Okay, something is definitely up.
"Kookie, talk to me," I pull him outside with me so we can talk away from the others, "what's up?"
"This girl, Yuna," he groans.
"You have a girlfriend?" I ask, but he shakes his head.
"I thought that I was about to though." He sighs and rubs the back of his neck. "She uh— she told me today that she doesn't think she can handle dating me because of Bangtan. She said it would be too much with me traveling and the fans."
I pull him into a hug and rub his back, unsure of what else I can really do for him in this moment. He shakes a little in my embrace, and when I pull back, I see the tears threatening in the corners of his eyes.
"Jungkook, ommo, I'm so sorry," I retighten my grip on him, and this time, his long arms wrap around my shoulders as he buries his face in my hair.
"I'll get over it," he sniffles while trying his best not to start crying, "it just hurts right now. I like her so much, and now I don't know how to stop."
"I know," I rub small circles into his back. I've never seen this side of my brother, but I know that I can't stand to see him so broken like this.
"Noona?"
"Yeah?"
"Have you ever had your heart broken?" He whispers quietly.
"Once," I tell him simply, "but I'm okay now, and you will be too. Heartbreak is terrible, but you're going to find a girl that makes you forget all about it. Just be patient."
"Okay," he pulls away and smiles slightly, "Thanks."
"I'm always here for you, Jungkook." I reach up to ruffle his hair, and he chuckles and pushes my hand away.
"I know I'm just your little brother, but I'm here for you too." He uses the hem of his white tee shirt to blot his eyes before straightening up. "Let's go back inside. I'm still hungry."
A/N: I'm adopting this Jungkook because ommo ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ also I apologize in advance for the next chapter because you're not ready 😈
