Lance POV:
I blasted another Galra and it exploded hitting another. "Take that!" I yelled shooting a couple more.
We were defending a planet the Galra wanted to take over and exploit their resources. "Help!" Pidge called out several ships had surrounded her. I shot at three and she took care of the rest. The mission was going by surprisingly well. The last of the ships fled and we landed on the planet hopping out of our lions victoriously.
Hunk, Pidge and I all high five taking off our helmets. Though someone caught my eye. I watched Keith pull of his helmet and he caught my stare. After a moment he smiled and I did so back. "Good work out there today paladins!" Allura said stepping out of the castle.
The inhabitants of the planet welcomed us into their town for a small celebration. They looked very similar to humans but they had antennas and face markings similar to that of Allura and Coran just green.
I was sitting on a stool watching the others in their conversations. At least I can count on one specific boy not being in any conversations with people. Keith and his antisocial tendencies made me smile to myself, I could count on talking to him.
Or maybe not. I felt my stomach drop. Keith was talking to some... Guy? I stared annoyed. The boy was attractive too. Could Keith be into him? No... Keith...
Keith smiled and laughed looking down at his feet with a small blush on his cheeks. No, NOPE NOPEY NOPE!! I'm well aware jealousy is getting the best of me right now, but I can't help it. Anger bubbles through me and I plopped back into my seat fuming. When I glanced back at Keith and our eyes met before I tore them away.
I breathed in and out heavily standing up. Walking up next to a girl I smiled and shot her my best dashing look. "Would you mind touching me? I want to tell my friends I've been touched by an angel."
She giggled and a small blush rose to her cheeks. We began talking for a bit.
"What about that one over there?" She nodded toward Keith.
"W-what do you mean?"
"You like him don't you?" She asked as if it were obvious.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"You keep looking over there at him. You're jealous he's talking to that boy over there aren't you?" She smiled.
I bit my lip for a moment deciding if I should tell her or not before thinking to hell with it. I told her EVERYTHING.
She nodded understanding every statement. "Maybe You should tell him." She suggested.
"Are you kidding? He'd probably punch me!" I laughed leaning in nervously trying to keep quiet about my situation.
"Or he could return those feelings." She took a sip of her drink.
"What are the chances of that?" I laughed running my hand through my hair.
"High considering he keeps looking over here too. I think he saw you were upset about something earlier." She said raising her eyebrows suggestively.
"Really? Is he looking right now?" I staring at her hopefully.
"Yeah. Oh wait, he looked away. I think he saw me look at him."
"Okay, Okay, Okay. I think... I think I'll try to tell him tonight." I breathed out barely able to grasp what I was going to do.
"That's great!" She exclaimed.
"Paladins, we should be going." Allura yelled and the door to the castle opened. Everyone began to leave and I quickly looked back at the mysterious lady.
"Thanks."
"No problem." She smiled kissed my cheek and left. I clapped my hands together took a deep breath and walked into the castle. The moment I was in my room I was in a panic. How am I suppose to tell him!?
There was a small knock on the door and my head snapped to the door I ran over and slid open the door. Keith.
"Oh uh hi um..." I don't know how to start this conversation.
"I just wanted to check on you. You looked upset earlier." He folded his arms.
Yeah because you're talking to another guy and my jealous ass can't handle it.
"I'm alright." I breathed looking into Keith's eyes.
"Okay. Well then I'm going to-" he began to turn and walk away but I stopped him grabbing his shirt.
"Can I talk to you quick?" I said fast almost making no sense.
"Yeah." He said shocked and I pulled him into my room closing the door behind us.
I sat on the bed and looked up at him patting the spot next to me. He sat and looked confused at me. "I-I've been- I should have told you this a long time ago..." I started but couldn't say what I wanted to say.
"What?"
"First, that guy you were talking to, who was he?" I asked unable to contain my jealousy.
"Why? What does that have to do with anything?"
"I-I just. Does he mean anything to you?" I breathed.
"Like... romantically?"
"Yes."
"No."
I felt my body itch with relief. I couldn't help it. I let out a breath I'd been holding and fell back on my bed. "Thank god."
"W-why is that?" Keith asked nervously with a smirk.
"Because, I like you Keith. Like really like you." I shot up grabbing his hands holding them tightly.
A smile spread across his face. "I like you to."
I almost couldn't believe what he just said. "Really?" I asked. When he nodded his head I practically tackled him planting a small kiss on his lips.
We both laughed a little as we stared at each other. Things were about to change and for the greatest great of goods. His face then turned into confusion. "Then Who was that girl you were talking to? And why were you so upset earlier?"
I laughed. "That girl was the person who convinced me to tell you I liked you. As for why I was so upset... it'sbecauseIwasuperjealoisthatyouweretalkimgtosomeotherguyandyoulookedlikeyouwereflirting."
He caught that last part despite my attempt to make it hard to make out. He laughed and pulled me into another kiss. "You're unbelievable."
