Do Gay People Go To Hell - a "deeper" insight

Fell for the click bait, eh? Allow me to elaborate on my stance on Christianity and homosexuality. Although I must admit, you'd probably be disappointed as to how simple my stance is, but there's a reason as to why it is simple.

Let's say person A is gay.

Is he a sinner? Yes.

Does that make him any better than the next guy? No.

Can he still realize that he needs the Messiah to be saved and be a child of God? Yes.

Let's say he ISN'T gay.

Is he a sinner? Yes.

Doe that make him any better than the next guy? No.

Can he still realize that he needs the Messiah to be saved and be a child of God? Yes.

Don't you see? A heterosexual person isn't spiritually better off than a gay person. A hetero person isn't automatically more righteous than a gay person. The fact that many Christians (whether truly saved, or are just religious on Sundays) would ever think that gays are in a position to be belittled is absurd and disappointing. Where's the love?

Like, honestly, what are people trying to accomplish? They can't one-up each other. No one can. We're all sinners. Being gay or straight doesn't change that.

I'd like to offer two bits of scripture to relate to this:

"For whoever keeps the whole Torah / Law but stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. For the one who said, 'Do not commit adultery,' also said, 'Do not commit murder.' Now if you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the Torah / Law." (Jacob (James) 2:10-11 TLV)

Gay-persecuting Christians may do their gay-hating things to make themselves feel better. Although I can't say this for all of them, this isn't a far off stretch. But what they're doing is futile. They're sinners just like all of us.

When Pharisees brought a woman accused of adultery to Jesus, they wanted to see if He would approve of them stoning her, as outlined in Leviticus and again in Deuteronomy.

"When they kept asking Him, He stood up and said, 'The sinless one among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.'" (John 8: 7 TLV)

And none of the Pharisees threw a stone at the woman. It's pointless to judge a fellow person in a self-gratifying manner.

I honestly think that people make too big a deal about homosexuals and Christianity. We need to making a bigger deal about keeping aligned with the Messiah and His love and His purpose for us as individuals and as communities. We need to focus on being ambassadors for Him and to spread His light and love to the world. We need to look at how we can prepare this world for Messiah's second coming so that many many more people will have accepted Him and be prepared for Him.

So teach people about Scripture. Help the homeless, or the person crying and in distress in the train, or your friend who's been going through a lot. Give gifts to people and don't ask for anything in return. Let them know that God loves them and is looking after them. Love them with God's love.

Shalom to all of you.
