Kili's eyes popped back up at me, after collecting himself. "Sorry..!"
His eyes looking forgiveness on my face. But before I was going to say something, I was cut off. making me shut my mouth I turned to face the voice.
"You are here." Thorin gave me a deep look. "Yes, been here for a while now." His blue eyes lit up at this. The brother's stayed quiet behind me. Kili was almost...grabbing my jacket from the looks their uncle was giving.
"Hn,*He turned his head back* Let's move..!" Ordered the raven haired dwarf. 'Ha...yey...I lived..' I felt my shoulders drop.
"..___?" Fili walked up next to me. Whispering to me from his position. "Where you really..?"
'N-noooo....' I shake my head slightly at the blonde. Making the two dwarfs grin at me, seeing how it turned out good in the end. While we left, and was walking up side of the cliff on a path. I realized Gandalf wasn't with us.
' I wonder where he is??' I turned my head back getting one last look at Rivendell.
"___?" Called Fili to me. I turned my head back seeing the brothers could tell I was thinking, and it was unsettling.
"Oh, it's nothing." 'Well sort of.' I half lied.
"Did you eat something before we left?" I felt my stomach sink. Of course I didn't, I just threw myself out of bed. Suddenly didn't sound as crazy thinking that was Thorin's voice I heard early morning. Concern was on the blonde's face by now seeing how I never replied.
Gazing up from the corner of my eyes, Thorin walked not too far ahead of us. I knew he could hear us. I was to shy to admit it. "Well.. here.' I suddenly found a piece of flat bread get placed into my open hand, having strong larger fingers clothes over top. Forcing me to hold onto it.
Giving me a stern second look, making me swear to Fili I would eat it. I nod my head a slightly. Satisfied the blonde stood back turning on his heel, but not before tapping Kili's shoulder.
"Stay...with her..." He whispered, before taking his place behind Thorin. Knowing he was going to be ordered to anyway by his uncle. Just like that the brunette prince slid back next to me standing closer to my height.
"Hi." He smiled back up at me. "Morning...." I shot a greeting that through off the young dwarf. He looked at the bread in my hand, then back up at me. His eyes telling me to eat it. 'HAA...fine!! I'll eat it.Happy?!' I gave Kili a blank look.
"...mh..!" Making him cough a bit, seeing how he just made my early morning mood worse.
While we walked, I felt my eyes locking onto the world below. The steep...drop of the cliff shook me to the bone, as I secretly chewed on the little bread. I really did not want to fall off that kind of a cliff again.
"Be on you guard, we are about to step over the edge of the wild." Ordered Thorin three people ahead of me.
Kili glanced back at me for a moment, as he looked down, checking to see if I was still there. Bilbo walked behind me, keeping my bow, and arrow in his sight to make sure he or me wouldn't get lost. My elf made coat swayed from each step I took. My cloak on my one again. I was a light traveler much more than the others. I had no backpack, or extra luggage. Only my clothes on me with a small pouch on the side holding my comb, and weapons. I didn't even carry a blanket to sleep on.
"Master baggins, I suggest you keep up." Thorin's voice fell behind me.
'Oh just leave him be. He will be fine." I rolled my eyes. The poor hobbit has been through enough.
Up the winding cliff path we went. Rocks creaking under my boots as I stepped on them. My wounds were healed, only light scars stayed now thanks to the elvish healing. Still my feet were wrapped up still for extra padding, like another layer of a thin sock. It would help during the night if It was cold. Keeping me from freezing.
We exited the forest a few hours later, and now we're heading down a open field rocky terrain. To keep things interesting Kili, and I decided to play a little game. Seeing how long we could only walk on large rocks and not touch the ground while keeping up with the others in our place.
*Tap tap* My feet went over the hard rocks smiling a bit at how fun this actually was, knowing how I could walk again properly. I had the sudden urge to run ahead just to stretch my legs. Fili didn't care about our little game, as long as we were enjoying this time was all that mattered to him. It was nice to see Kili, and I being happy again, not like when we were getting chased by wargs. That memory haunted Fili, and didn't wish to see me in such a dangerous place again.
By the time we reached the rushing waterfall the group was already spread out. I was far away from Thorin who basically walked alone in his own little word. I paused for a moment by the water.
"??uh..____?" Kili blinked at me. "Hold on. I can't miss this." I said not caring as I reached out my water container to gather spring water that fell down next to us. "Okay, let's go." I said closing it.
That was until something chilled my bones. "_____!" A low shout came from ahead of me, literally from the other side of the waterfall were fields were starting to form again. Bilbo tilted his head at this, along with Fili, and Kili.
"Don't trail behind. You are to stay near me at all times!" His voice echoed up to me. "Oh.......mh...." I averted my eyes for a moment.
"Come Now!" Thorin called once again his voice sounding louder. "Tch......." I began to walk faster, but this didn't stop me to give one last free glance at the brothers.
'Kili...Fili." I looked up at them. Trying to get them to notice. Bilbo could see the look of terror in my eyes. He knew how I was scared of Thorin being loud near me, or to me. My eyes pleading, but they didn't seem to catch this.
"........" I kept my head down as I jogged after the dwarf leader ahead. 'Oh well...' I let it slight seeing how poor Fili was loaded up with carrying bags once again, along with his own weapons. There was no way I would force them.
"Did you not see that?" Bilbo shot a question at the brother's. "Huh, see what?" Kili blinked. Seeing me run off into the distance to his uncle.
"The look on her face." Stated Bilbo blankly, realizing just how clueless Kili could be at times. "She seemed fine, to.. me?"
"Huh...." Bilbo rolled his eyes. "She is afraid of Thorin. Especially was he calls to her....."
The brother paused taking a moment seeing me just arrive next to their uncle's side. Kili could feel a sting inside of him seeing how they couldn't stop me from going. Fili swung the weight of a bag up onto him higher trying to adjust. "We'll keep an eye out, just in case." Fili tried to make his brother's mood lighten.
"Right." Bilbo watched." So will I. I'm not afraid of Thorin, but I fear....for _____ some times."
The brother's picked up their pace a little wanting to get a little closer to make their presence help me feel better. Even though if I couldn't look back at them.
{Back to me}
This was sooo awkward....so weird... quiet. I now walked next to this man, well dwarf king.,,,figure. But we haven't said a word. I thought my legs were going to snap from how hard it was to actually keep up with Thorin. It was crazy! He seemed to take 2 more steps sooner than me, walking faster when I was the one taller than him. I could feel myself panting for air.
I couldn't trail behind, or even look at the others. It was almost hell trying to keep up with him. "So, why is it you came?" His low voice came.
'OH so now he talks!' Like 1 hour later.
"Well...., I have nowhere to go."
"So you're like us, seeking for a home." He took 2 more steps ahead of me. Making me panic as I tried to keep up. My heart raced at this strange feeling of talking to him.
"I....guess...." I said not wanting to sound pushy, and force myself into their life.
"Family?"
"...some where..."
"Human?" He pushed.
"I...think so....."
"Where around?"
"I'm...not sure....." I said getting annoyed of his rapid fire questions. "You have some good skill with a bow."
"..thank you.." I said in a quiet voice.
"The closest thing to home, that I felt I had was......the night I was in Bilbo's house."
Thorin dropped his gaze from my face. Hearing this for some reason squeezed his heart. "I...see." Was his last word. We both felt stupid in the end. Not being able to communicate normally, like I could with Kili,Fili, and even Bilbo. that bothered Thorin. Seeing how their was a gap between us, in earning my trust. As trust he seemed to break on, and off.
At that moment Thorin sweared to try to make me feel a bit more welcome, but how long would that last??
Nightfall came, but that wasn't all.
*SSHSWWWSSHHHHH!!!* *CRACK!* Crashed of thunder came flooding the sky, and rain poured down onto us. I had a fear of being trapped in a thunderstorm, having lighting crashing down near us. I would rather be in a warm cozy house, than be out here.
*CRASH!!* Another flash of blinding lighting came making me shudder, but I swallowed the fear back down. I felt something fall over my head, almost covering my eyes. "....huh..?" I looked up from under the dark fabric. Kili looked back at me, with a heart warming smile.
"Since...w-when do I have a hood...??" My whisper was answered. "Just another simple request." Said Fili from behind me. I had a hidden hood to protect me from the rain, and didn't just know about it since now.
*CRASH!!* "!!!" My eyes widen in shock, slammed myself back into the stone wall. "Keep low......______." Whispered Kili next to me. "R-right..." I swallowed down my tears of freight.
"We Must Find Shelter!!!" Thorin's voice hollered.
I couldn't care less. I was all the way back stuck in between Kili, and Fili trying to hold onto dear life. Thorin's words meant nothing to me for now. It took all I had to hold on from slipping all from the drenching rain. My ( eyecolor) eyes that lost it's sparkle widen at the sound of something snapping. As we see stone go flying suddenly across the sky. Large pieces of rock. * THump thump thump!* My heart rate rose. Suddenly seeing this come crashing right above our heads! I couldn't even let out a squeak.
"LOOK OUT!!!" Dwalin's voice struck fear into us.
*BANG!* Debri and shattered parts of rocks come falling down. 'W-what!?..!!"
Suddenly I was pushed back by a strong arm. *Fwwt!* I gasped with my mouth open."Easy.... now...little steps. It's alright don't rush.." Fili whispered from behind me trying to keep me from falling. 'B-but how!? T-that thing! almost hit us!!!' More came crashing down, while I was held back to the wall.
"Take Cover!!"
Glancing back at my soaked form, Kili's face was full of concern. Everyone was scared, and Thorin's shouting didn't really help. Seeing me shudder at the loud rain. He hated to not being able to do anything to calm me down. Telling me it was gonna be alright. How could he lie to that face? It was not in his blood, nor Fili's
'I'm scared...I'm scared..' Spun inside my head. There was like no light, it was dark. The only light that came was lightning, a sharp light that meant danger.
It was not a warm light to my eyes. *CRAASH!Flash!* Another blinding light came.
"This is no thunderstorm, it's a thunder battle!!" The shout of a dwarf in the company made my eyes look up.
"No...don't look up....." Hummed Kili. While his brother slightly nudged my arm down with his. To shield me from the light. The way my body rattled each time the thunder, and lightning came gave it away all too easy. Also in his own way of keeping on coming rocks from hitting me. For he feared that it could do much more damage on me, than their strong dwarf bodies.
"Well bless me, the legends are true. Giant's, stone giants!!!" Bofur called out in pure shock. When the large stone being the head of the giant came flying over over to us. *THUD!* Causing the ledge to shake like mad.
"Woooah!!!" Everyone called out in shock.
My fingers cold..., like ice as I gripped the back of Kili's cloak hoping it would help me from slipping. "...ngh......." '...p-please...just let us live through this....' My voice was stuck inside of me. I could only listening to the soft words of the two next to me to help me. My mind was blank, and they knew.
"Take cover, or you'r fall!!" Shout's Thorin.
"Hold on!!!!!"
Bilbo, and I was suddenly brought up really close to the all. "Ngh.!" I tried to look up in shock. But a large hand was placed on my head. "No, don't move now....."
'K-Kili??' I thought. Only seconds later everything began to tilt. I could feel my stomach sway. "WOAH!" Everyone gasped, as the edges off the cliff started to crumble around our feet. Fili had his hand grasping my sleeve to keep m from falling forward. Even they were lost in words. It took all they had to keep them from slipping. I looked up from the corner of my eyes, were my drenched hair flew in the wind. I began to fear to Kili, who seemed to struggle just as bad.
When out of nowhere, there was a loud cracking sound. Coming right below my feet the stone began to split. "Ah!!" I shout.
"W'whats happened?!?!" Kili called out seeing his feet suddenly shift. But nothing worried the brothers as much as, seeing the ground split right below me. "_____!!!!" Fili, and Kili looked at me in horror. Who was I going to cling to?? which way do I step??! or was I going to go crashing down into. "Ah..ah..I I!!"
"Hurry grab my hand!!" They both called out to me in unison. There was no way I could grab both hands. The ground was splitting fast. Both kneeled down to the ground reaching for me. *Gulp!*
"W_WAHH!!" Suddenly I began to fall, not being able to step away in time to either side. "Grab Her!!"
*THUD!* Suddenly I feel a arm come shooting out to mine, causing me to slam into the side of the cliff with no ground below my feet I hung.
"!!!! Fili, KILI!?" I snapped my head to the left, and right. "____!!! I got you!!!"
"F-Fili??" I looked up seeing the blonde having a hard grip on my wrist, it didn't hurt though. I was suddenly pulled up, almost getting thrown to the ground. While Fili's voice horrified calls out to his brother.
"Kili! grab my hand!" The blonde prince desperately called out. I could only catch the glimpse of Kili's face of shock, face flooding with concern.
"N-No...." Kili's voice trailed to me. As he became separated from his brother. "Kili!! no!" I stepped forward, seeing the brunette looked back at us in horror.
"_____! no!!" Fili held me back with his strong arms. "Kili!!!" I called out to him. As tears threatened to fall out of my eyes. All I could see was the sad look on his face, drenched hair, his eyes didn't sparkle like the use to. As my side of the cliff began to move back, rather than his. Ours was the dangerous spot. 'C-come on Kili...smile....smile like you usually do...' But it never happened.
Just as our cliff was the large leg of the giant we stood on. I was pulled back head first into soaked..., but surprisingly brown fur. "K..Kili..." I whimpered. There was nothing he could do....it hurt just as much for Fili seeing him torn away from his brother.
*CRASH!* Suddenly both sides of our cliff began to move, as a stone giant emerged from the inside of the mountain.
"W-ahh..!!!" I cried out feeling everything move, and shake. Even the strong arms of Fili couldn't help hide the feeling of this horror.
"W-WAAAH!!!"
"WOOOAAAH!!" The shouts of the other side, came. I snapped my head up, needing, wanting to see them. "___??" Fili gasped seeing me turn, as I watched. The rest of the company flt across the air almost. shouting screaming.
"WOOAAAH!!" One last came out before. *THUD!!!* They crashed into the side of the cliff. "K-Kili!" My breathed hitched in me. Seeing the young prince fly forward, tumbling on his face. I gripped the sleeve of the older brother hard in stress, and anger. ""MOVE MOVE MOVE!" Thorin yelled, and they scurried across the cliff. Kili just jumping in on time.
"Ha....oh good..." I whispered. Feeling relief wash over me, knowing they survived that part. "____,______! * Fili snapped me out of my mind* I know you'r relief, but please focus." His voice guided me. Only to have us sharply tumble back. "Ah!" I squeaked out. Feeling myself get smashed back into Fili's chest, having him drop two bags in shock.
Suddenly our giant threw a fist at the other, shaking us to the bone on it's knee. "Ngh!" I wanted to shut my eyes, but I knew I had to keep them open.
Another fist went flying, as a loud crash came from above us. Having our eyes widen seeing it's head go flying. "OH crap...!"
"WAAAAHH!!" WOOAHH!!!" Our giant began to tumble. Slamming Fili into the wall, and having me follow. *THUD!*
"U-UGH." I let out a groan. "I got you, don't let go!" The blonde called to me. Making me fist the fur on his jacket more. He did all he could to keep us balanced, while mine was thrown off. My bow surprisingly still with me, along with the quiver, and arrows. It felt awful knowing it was being shoved into Fili's face from him having to hold me close. Bilbo, Bofur, and the rest of us all shout as we go flying past the others. Kili's face going pale, seeing how Fili, and I struggled to stay on.
Our eyes could only lock for a second. 'I'm sorry...' I looked at the brunette one last time. Only to have us sway past, pausing for a moment. Then seeing the sharp dark grey rocks coming closer to us.
"OH no!!" I gasped.
"WAaah!!" Everyone but Fili shouts. I could feel my stomach sink, making me feel sick. My head spinning, seeing us only inches away from the cold stone wall. "____! get ready. " Fili began to pushed my forward lightly. "W-what?!" I looked back in shock.
"Just trust me. You need to roll off. Now! get ready!!" His panicked voiced said to me. He set me ahead of him so I could get off it sooner.
"W-what no Fili." "Trust me." He said once more.
The rest of the company watched in horror, seeing us get slammed into the side of the mountain.
"Now!!"
"MHHf!!!" *THUD!* I lunged myself off. Rolling, and skidding across the hard ground. Feeling my head go fuzzy for a moment from impact, and a sting came to the side of my face. My heart was beating like mad, making it hard to breath...
"NOOOOO!!!" Thorin cried out.
Only to see the rock pull back, and not seeing us there anymore.
'W-what?! _____???' Kili thought.
"NOOO KILI!" Thorin, and the others began to race toward the edge in hopes to not see his comrades dead, but instead alive, and well.
